I was very disappointed by the Italy/Netherlands result, mainly because of my disdain for the Dutch. I had a Dutch soccer coach in high school and he always brought in soccer camps with instructors from Holland and had us doing Dutch drills. Nothing like doing a drill with 7 different passes before a shot and no defensive pressure. I did enjoy how wide open the field was, however. It was so nice to not watch a game where everyone is bunched up and all the passes are in tight areas. Van Nistelrooy's goal still bothers me though because of how blatantly offside he was.
Sometimes to annoy my passengers when I'm driving, I go around the round abouts a couple times. If you do it at 30 MPH or so you get kinda dizzy I've found.
Since soccer is the most popular youth sport in the country, I am curious to see what happens when the current youth grow up and are dictating the sports market. Will soccer become more mainstream in America than it is now? I don't mind people bashing soccer because that's just their opinion and it doesn't detract from my passion for the game any bit. Speaking of soccer, I reffed a U-13 game tonight and one kid had the name "Utah." Can this whole naming kids after states thing end? Dakota is iffy enough, but Utah? Really? I don't understand why parents now a days name their kids unconventional names. Whatever happened to Mary or George? Now it's all Mikayla and Tanner.
I'm geeked about July 4th with Big D and the Kids Table, Goldfinger, and Less Than Jake. Last year's tour of Streetlight Manifesto, Less Than Jake, and Reel Big Fish was awesome, I'm glad to see round two this year.
I drove passed a horse standing on the side of the road cause as I was approaching it at night, it's hind leg looked like a mail box post. That also would have been very bad.
I'm pretty sure Colorado, Detroit and San Diego were mentioned not because of who the managers were but because of the high expectations coming into the season and the poor starts all three teams have gotten off to.
Being done with school for the summer and the fact that I posted the same thing at the end of fall semester. Just can't get enough of breaks off of school.
You ever notice whenever they show someone wearing Brewers gear or Wisconsin related gear in the crowd at a visiting ball park the announcers just assume they are from Wisconsin and made the trip? Maybe they live in the area and just are fans of Wisconsin and the Brewers.
has done more harm to this team since July 1, 2006 than any other single opposing player much less any Brewer So being one of the best set-up men in baseball last year hurt the Brewers? It's really apparent Turnbow needs to screw his head on straight. It is a crap shoot whether or not all he needs is time in the minors to straighten himself out or the lightning in the bottle the Brewers caught is completely gone. If nothing else, I got a pretty cool bobble head out of the whole deal and Turnbow was a rock star for a while.
Craig Coshun has an effect today when he talks. He was talking when Gallardo got hurt and now when Counsell got beaned. He's the Ace of Spades of announcers today.
That relay throw by Counsell was spectacular. An absolute dart to Kendall. I love Bill's disgust in the Cubs fans throwing the cup at Braun in the corner. Only in Chicago.
Prince went a little high with his hit, I think if he would have lowered himself a little more it would have been more effective. Or you know, getting a stop sign from Svuem would have been the correct answer too, but you work with what you got.
