  1. Guy is talking about pitcher wins, ERA, and RBI, glad he's not our GM.
  2. And that's will have absolutely zero effect on the 2018 brewers if that happens
  3. I think a lot of people here are valuing Verlander and Kinsler way too highly with some of these offers going around. I'd give them salary relief and some B prospects at best.
  4. I'm thinking there's a better chance that Santana is on his way out with Brinson coming to replace him. I love Domingo, but i'd be ok with moving him for a guy like Gray as a sell-high kind of move. I think he fits better long-term as a DH anyways.
  5. This is all very exciting/horrifying
  6. lol. context kind of matters in this situation.
  7. Doesn't the Madson/Doolittle trade kind of dampen the relief market? Those are two high quality RP and they didn't exactly bring back the Brett Phillips and Lewis Brinsons of the world.
  8. I don't know that I would classify our situation as hanging on for dear life quite yet. What's it going to take to get this guy? Looks like he's under control next year too, which I like.
  9. If only Stearns would have traded Brinson, Hader, Diaz and whatever else it took to get Q!!!! I would expect somewhat of a regression next year, which is fine as long as we stay the course. It's all about 2019 in my eyes, so let's explore some trades for our outfielders this winter to clear room for Brinson and maybe Phillips, see what the young arms have and go from there.
  10. I highly doubt that they'll stretch Hader out again this season. Seems to me they optioned Blazek to keep him stretched out in case they need him. Hopefully Woodruff can be effective when he comes off the DL if need be too.
  11. lol that is actually kind of a relief! edit: re brewerworld/hader
  12. @BrewerWorld: Adding another LHP (Webb) makes sense as Brewers are actively shopping Hader.
  13. Big fan of this trade overall for the Brewers. Kind of sucks that it was the Cubs that got Quintana, but at least they gutted the farm and hopefully he won't be a huge difference maker for them. I'm also of the opinion that this makes the Brewers even more likely to just stand pat.
  14. Sounds like Guerra won't miss a start, they'll just slot him in at #5 when he comes off.
  15. Knebel has been amazing. Disappointing for sure, but this will happen.
  16. Paul Molitor was way more injured than Braun during his amazing career here.
  17. I really don't want anything to do with Gray and his injury history
  18. Morosi: Sources: #Brewers are prepared to buy at Trade Deadline and have begun background work on Jose Quintana, Sonny Gray and other starters. @MLB I can't begin to express how much this displeases me. Don't do anything stupid DS!!
  19. Something really bad must have com up on his medical for the Rays not to even make the minimum offer to get a pick next year. If we're able to sign him without impacting the draft pool I'd love to at least take a look.
  20. Don't think this is true looking at the loss column. We're 4 behind Colorado and 2 ahead of the cubs.
  21. I'm still under no illusion that we will be playing in the postseason, but despite that, if we can keep this up it's a great stepping stone to big things.
