Stearns doesn't seem to pay any mind to high strikeout players, but with how the offense has seemingly cratered in the second half, I'm wondering if he looks to get a little more balanced this offseason. Second base and CF are areas that could be easy to upgrade with trading Broxton and putting Phillips/Brinson out there and signing Walker to a couple of year deal.

These are the two toughest losses since the 2011 NLCS in my opinion, but damn it feels good to be in a position to have your heart ripped out by this team again.

The article said that it took Nelson half a season to start showing results of the tweaks, maybe that should what Jungmann was going through too. He was pretty good in AAA.

Hernan Perez leading off again, why? I love Craiggers and think he's done a great job, but this is baffling.

This is awful, I seriously hope this isn't a career ender for him. Hopefully they actually give Hader a shot on the rotation and he can take advantage, I don't think Suter should be anything more than a long man.

I thought that article was great and it was very interesting to see how he and Jimmy stuck with the changes last year even though they weren't paying immediate dividends. Hopefully he can continue his success!

Going to be heading out to Phoenix on a long weekend with my wife and am going to catch a couple of games. Hopefully The Brewers farmhands get some quality PT when I'm there.

I'm really surprised they didn't call someone up since they're going to need to fill Nelson's spot eventually.

Monte has been added to the roster as well.

qft. Best game I've ever attended.

I'm hoping to get to Arizona for a weekend and catch a couple of games so I'm really hoping that Gatewood and Dubon go as well as at least an interesting pitcher (Lopez, Derby, etc).

Taylor and Coulter are exactly the type of prospect I'd imagine are on the list.

I'll be furious if we give up any of those guys for 6 weeks of Neil Walker.

This is a fairly stupid sentiment even for Briggs. Counsel is probably closer to winning MOY than getting fired.

Love the way most of these look but I'm not enamored with the Brewers one. Would have been cool to work the Barrelman on the hat or something more retro feeling like the others seem to be.

It's really something. I could see him being flipped for some rookie/A-ball pitchers like the Lind trade.

Yeah I was wondering if he was a little old. I didn't realize he was at Carolina earlier in the season either. Thanks for the responses! I thought Owenby and Jankins both looked good last night too, although that's without the benefit of a radar gun.

Is Weston Wilson more than just a guy? He certainly looks the part and he's had a nice year so far.

Well said Monty. Look, even if the cubs didn't make any moves, there was a good chance they would win the division based on the second half schedules and the talent levels of the two teams. Our good first half at least made them push basically all their remaining chips into the pile and shortened their window. Didn't Theo get run out of Boston for leaving the cupboard totally empty? Hopefully that's what's happening here. This team still isn't in the class of the Dodgers.

And there were some here that wanted to extend him last year...
  24. MillerParkSouth
Bad couple of years for opening day starters. Wonder who gets his spot in the rotation?

Hard pass if they're looking for a Sonny Gray type return
