  1. I kind of hope you're not. Actually, I really hope you're not. I sorta think Hart on a minor league deal with a spring invite would be awesome. He could be this years overbay.
  2. oh man, those bring back memories.... I got to watch Lo when he was with the Power and he was a terrifically exciting prospect---fun times!
  3. only 4 RF's in the NL with an OPS over .800 last year...like every position, offense has died in RF too. Coulter projects to be excellent in RF as well. Catcher may have actually produced MORE offense than RF in the NL in 2014, and certainly outproduced 3b. These are strange times.
  4. If the man can play C and RF, he can play 1b. Right Field is a harder position than 1b. I agree with the above comment that Braun will eventually be at 1B anyway, perhaps as soon as 2015, but even if he's not, Coulter could move there very easily later.
  5. davis didn't look like it this year, but he hit for WAY over .300 at multiple levels in the minors. He had a good year, but actually underachieved considerably based on his previous major and minor league numbers. He could regress, but I would guess most projection systems will show him improving next year. I don't think the Brewers will trade Khris Davis without a Major piece coming back.
  6. The "Youth at 1st base" you mentioned...isn't young...in fact, Matt Clark is only 6 months younger than Lucroy
  7. I see Parra as settling for what we have---yes, he's a great defensive player, but this team, in a post "Braun" world, lacks thump at the plate. Ramirez has looked pretty Old lately as well. Im worried the team will struggle to score runs next year and I fail to see how Gerardo Parra replacing the 1b combo platter is the answer to that question.
  8. I have no doubt Braun could play a competent 1st base---it's easier to field than outfield. To me, the bigger question is how this actually improves the offensive impact of the team. Moving Braun to first and putting Parra in right leaves us with essentially the same lineup we currently have. It also limits at bats for Lucroy, unless your still going to let him play first when he's not catching, which means benching Braun or Parra. I'm all for moving Braun to 1st if it means acquiring a RF that's net worth is greater than Parra's hitting+defense, but moving the parts we have currently around just so we can keep the same guys doesn't sound like a good plan. In fact, it sounds like a great way to finish about .500.
  9. on the bright side, Nick Ramirez is going to hit 50 home runs next year.
  10. Yadiel Rivera is not a terrible option and had decent numbers at AA...I'm sort of hoping this teams gets blown up in the off season, so i'd like to see Jean get one more shot...
  11. he's been drinking optimism...here...in the optimism thread..
  12. We aren't grasping, were charging! Go crew!
  13. 3 back and moving closer....
  14. I came here looking for this thread, and it was already at the top. I'm going to do my part to keep it here until we are eliminated. The past doesn't matter. We are tied for the wild card and in a great position to move up in the division. I'm ready to believe again.
  15. 0-40 it doesn't matter how many games are left, they will lose them
  16. 1. contract the cardinals 2. get fired 3. ? 4. ? 5. profit
  17. I've got an extra Andrelton Simmons I got at a Braves game earlier this year id like to trade for tomorrow's Chorizo. Send me a pm if you are interested.
  18. Cespedes is really overrated--- he has a lower ops than Khris Davis, the same obp and hr's---so this isn't that great of a haul for Boston IMO.
  19. Rotoworld reporting the brewers have made calls about John Lester.
  20. I want zobrist, who could be had for a lot less than price, so maybe that would happen instead.
  21. Oops, forgot to make a pun in my last post... This transaction is dope.
  22. Yeah, it would be Nelson, Taylor, and Arcia.... And not worth it...
  23. Is it possible that Seid is out of the office, and the team is on Autodraft?
