  1. 1st base would be much higher if hart had been there the whole season, otoh, rf wouldn't change much if aoki had been there the whole season
  2. I'd love Anibal Sanchez...he's actually young!!!
  3. BRAUN FOR MVP
  4. It's inexplicable...the final season record is going to be about what i thought it would be at the beginning of the year...but i never would have predicted this route to getting there
  5. J U S T W I N
  6. I like Bianchi, but I hope Alex Gonzalez is willing to come back and play utility...he'd be a great defensive replacement anywhere in the infield
  7. Best today? Marco Estrada but since he's older than Yovani, i guess that's a ridiculous answer for the future? Peralta---holy crap. If he can maintain his control, he could be an ace.
  8. Plan A: DON'T LOSE
  9. He was hacking at absolutely everything when he first came up and has now chilled out. He's got what appears to be a nice compact swing, with some serious pop---i realize the power has been down so far, but he hits the ball hard. Of course, with his speed, he can beat out dribblers down the line, so he's looked good without the power. The walks have made me very happy...his .318 obp seems pedestrian, but it's been since JJ hardy that we've had a shortstop who could reasonably but up an obs that is above .300. I think the Brewers will go with Segura and Bianchi next year and let them fight it out for the starting spot.
  10. I don't think Aram is a hall of famer if he retired today, but a glance at his numbers, a consideration of his position, and his trajectory for the rest of his career makes him look like a pretty solid Hall of Fame candidate... what do you think/
  11. I guess I'm curious how many RA belong explicitly to the bullpen in those games that were blown in the 9th or later? Just from reading the earlier posts, it seems at least 15 or so runs in those situations, which leads me to believe the run differential should be more like 60 runs than 40 if the pen had not surrendered tremendous amounts of runs late in the game
  12. ya know, when this all started, i thought the team needed to win 88 games---i'm beginning to think the 2nd wild card may be won with something more like 84 wins...the brewers are the ONLY team in this race playing well
  13. this is a lousy offseason to trade gomez with so many free agent center fielders...it's the deepest position. As for keeping him, if he put up a full healthy season as the everyday starter at the rate he has this year, then he's BJ Upton...so, i wouldn't be surprised to see someone throw silly money at him after next year... As for replacing him? I think the names endaround mentioned should do the job
  14. CAPS LOCK!!!!!1!!!1!11
  15. hey, these guys don't suck after all edit: this is the optimism thread, would you guys please take the realism to another area?
  16. rotoworld has Edwin jackson getting 5/75 this offseason---yeeeeeeesh...would not want that the player that intrigues me is Ryan Dempster---if you could get him for 2/20, i think it's a good deal
  17. final LR comment of the year.... Jose Pena with 2 walks tonight...finally got the memo...i teared up a little when i saw that
  18. mainly, I want to enjoy watching the games...even if it's trivial, I still want them to win...i wanted them to win from 1993-2006 also, even though the seasons in those years didn't amount to crap
  19. Stinson was on the 40 man...what's the harm? He could still make an ok reliever
  20. the only way the Brewers make the playoffs this year is divine providence...if they are to make it, it's for crazy reasons...with that in mind, it's just as likely that Hiram Burgos leads them to the playoffs as Mark Rogers... they made the right call there... we just need them to keep scoring 10+ runs a game...they win at least half the time when they do that
  21. i think they need to win 23 games to have a shot---25 for me to feel good...so a miracle is what it would take...25-5 ...there ya go
  22. He's been excellent...his hr rate isn't much more than Yo's...his k rate is phenomenal...this is a breakout season...the pen? no way...he's in line to be the 3 guy next year...Dave Bush was never this good
  23. sheets---1 year---7 to 10 million
  24. just do it like slow pitch and have the tie breaker be run differential...or paper, rock scissors... i for one think it should be a baseball royal rumble with 63 defenders on the field and 24 outs per inning
