  1. I think the issue with Gindl is less his stature and more his lack of corner outfield power...he should hit 15-20 hr's a year in the majors (maybe more, I hope), or at least thats how most scouting reports see him...so, you know, Jonathan Lucroy, but in RF...which is kind of why people don't really see him as a starter... I disagree with lots of you guys about Mike Fiers here...it's guys like Mike and Santo Manzanillo that we undervalue as prospects...they are the kind of guys that have multi year major league careers...while guys like D'Vontry Richardson flame out in AA... The problem with our system is not the lack of productive contributors, it's the lack of high ceiling guys...there's almost no one in the minors who looks like he could potentially be an mlb all-star...which is drastically different than when we had Fielder, Braun, Hardy, Hart, Weeks, or Gallardo who have made all-star teams, or Ax and Lucroy who should make all-star teams...
  2. Hairston would be great...he's like Bill Hall, but good at baseball
  3. would guess they are waiting until the end of the game to announce the signings
  4. isn't rogers out of options? if so, melvin will have to do something with him soon...
  5. how about peralta to AAA to fill in for fdlc...fingers crossed
  6. what about Rogers? He fits the bill for a trade like this...
  7. i was think about fdlc earlier today...seriously, he's been one of the top 5 pitchers in the pcl this year...he's right at the very top in k's and era...the numbers don't look amazing because of how offensive that league is, but he's been great for the league...i think he'll be fine for a start or two...way better than estrada...and i trust him to go deeper into games than peralta
  8. Bored? Check out Adam Loewen's AAA stat's from this year...lots of people wanted to draft this guy...clearly, he's had a career change
  9. it seems there is always a failed 1st or second rounder in trades like this...so why not Arnett?
  10. D'vo is flashing serious skills lately at the plate...his numbers are excellent for that league, and if you discount his May, he's looking like he could be an .800+ ops guy in Huntsville next year...I'm incredibly excited to see a toolsy chance guy proving it...here's hoping he's the next Carlos Gonzalez or something equally insane
  11. How about Richardson though...he's really putting it together... I think Kentrail will have an MLB career...he's just a backup of in the making
  12. i was thinking about how parra makes sense here earlier...the Brewers are likely done with the guy...he's still got a bunch of upside
  13. He's brendan katin jr.
  14. Khris Davis and Fiers....Davis reminds me too much of Nelson cruz for the Brew crew not to trade him...Fiers has been great, but not a top prospect of course, sometimes we give away Mike Adams...which sucks... but sometimes we give away Ty Taubenheim or Cutter Dykstra and everyone forgets that it ever happened
  15. i don't like the guy at all...but he's a great hitter...i will admit that i looked up how many hits Molitor had and made sure Jeter is unlikely to get there...he needs over 300 more...which will probably take 2 more full seasons...
  16. that starting lineup should have had counsel at 2b, gamel at 1b, and Kotsay at rf...i mean, if you are going to lose, get everyone in...
  17. I hadn't chimed in until now...but Josh Wilson is starting in the outfield tonight...
  18. is Tj Mittelstadt legit? Is this guy a real prospect? I know nothing about him outside of his stat line...
  19. dominant pitching across the board...Nashville wins in a game where they were 1 hit...crazy
  20. I think Taylor will carry a higher obp in the majors than Casey---also, like Lucroy, I think Taylor's got more power than most are expecting him to have...i think he could easily be a 20 homer a year guy.. will he immediately be better than casey was last year? i doubt it...but Casey has played much better than his minor league number's suggested he was going to, and if his luck has run out...I think Taylor may be the more productive player going forward
  21. i still think Taylor Green is going to have a Jeff Cirillo-like career....
  22. Taylor's having a better offensive season than Gamel statistically now...wonder if he's the starting third baseman next year
  23. 40th round pick Aldridge actually from Glenwood in Phenix City AL, not Michigan---the same alma mater as Tim Hudson
  24. Bill Hall's crappy season has been exponentially better than betancourt...getting him back would make me very happy
  25. this is a guy who hit 20 jacks a few years ago split between two levels in the minors...he's got power...and a great eye at the plate...i seriously doubt he stays a his current levels all year, bu anything north of a .700 ops from a starting catcher would be the best thing we've had since damian miller...and really a lot longer
