  1. A good move by him...worked splendidly for Capuano
  2. Hunter Morris vs. Mat Gamel in spring Training Corey got better so fast last year, i almost wonder if he's back to start the season
  3. Tim Raines, Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Mike Piazza, Dale Murphy, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens
  4. Melvin lies in wait, and then scores two lefties for the price of jason grilli...well done good sir
  5. perfect utility pitcher---a loogy and a late inning guy who is also a swing man thanks for having patience doug... now grab another scrap heap former closer for nothing and Roy Oswalt on a minor league deal...
  6. Gamel is a cheaper version of Ishikawa there is no trade value there.
  7. the best album of the year was the three albums by Ty Segall my fav was Twins
  8. Hart's average OPS+ over last three years: 128 Laroche: 95 in fact, Hart's average is equal to Laroche's best.. so, i stand by my statement
  9. Yeah, If anything, this offseason has showed how valuable a guy like Hart really is...just watch a clearly inferior Adam LaRoche get a multi year deal worth 30 million...Hart is a deal in the current climate, and if he would resign at his current rate, the Brewers should really think about it
  10. WE HAVE A TOP 20 PROSPECT? obviously kidding...but we are on a different path than the teams going crazy right now... truthfully, the vast amount of cash has ben thrown at over 30 free agents who wouldn't have helped the team...i wouldn't mind a reliever or two still, but that may still happen.. the only trade i'm jealous of was what the Rays got for James Shields, other than that, I think Stoic Melvin has done well to sit on his hands.
  11. edited the title to show that he might have signed with the cubs
  12. apparently, Marcum has said he's open to returning
  13. i wanted one of these guys...but! 99% of free agent reliever signings involve stupid money, so i'm cool staying out of it...i'm glad they haven't done anything stupid like give marco scutaro 20 million for three years
  14. Brewers linked to Derek Holland signed to a five year contract extension in march worth less than 30 million rotoworld thinks the haul will be huge for the rangers what would you give up?
  15. I'd keep Segura...once I saw his defense at the major league level, I felt a lot b etter about him...dude's a stud.
  16. I'd take the guy who's had one surgery over the one that's had two...i'd take madson on a heavy incentive one year deal
  17. Thanks for 2011 Nyjer---you were in and out of here quickly, but you made a huge difference for a little while!
  18. Dempster is who I thought we'd go for all along---he's familiar---and, was down enough to be afforadble-ish also, unfortunately, he fits the mold of the FA pitcher's Melvin has signed before---Suppan, Wolf, Looper---so, i'd say there's a good to great shot of this one happening... My guess? 3 years 36 million...and he'll be ok for one of those, good for one, and god forsakenly awful for one...ya know...just like wolf and suppan
  19. I think haren would be a cool grab---If the Brewers aren't ready to throw 4 young pitchers out there at the same time next year, Haren would make a cool stopgap---sure, the cash is high, but it's a decent gamble on a bounceback, and with the option, it would only be for one year...besides, if he goes back to his old ways, i'm pretty sure you can offer him a qualifying offer at the end of the year Santana scared me...but Haren's a good gamble, especially in a year when the Brewers have some money off the books
  20. He's already said he'll sign with whoever gives him the most money. If that's truly the case, then this is a moot conversation, because it won't be Milwaukee
  21. I think the Brewers are played on hamilton if they can sign him in the 3 or 4 year range...i don't think they'd go any further than that. Hamilton seems like a really thoughtful guy---the kind that might make this decision with something other than his wallet... I don't think they will give him 5 years or anywhere near 100 million...but i could see a 3 year 60 million dollar deal...and i'd be cool with that
  22. 31- cabrera who's the better player? Trout Who had the better year? Trout Who decides the MVP? ESPN winner? Cabrera
  23. i would look to dempster on a 1-2 year deal if possible---great with cubs, junk elsewhere...
  24. if he puts up a full season like the one he just did next year, he's going to get 10 million a year...the gap between gomez and bj upton is narrow...i suspect 2013 will be the last we see of him in milwaukee
  25. If every single one of the Brewers pitchers work out, it will be a miracle also, they will just trade people...we've already seen that a mlb ready ss plus two high level pitchers can get Zach Greinke (twice so far), so why not look forward to having some trade ammo again as for Sanchez, I pointed him out because there are never free agents in their twenties...and when there are, they are typically over estimated. I think Sanchez could be like Edwin jackson last year (well, not exactly...) and not get the kind of offers he's expecting. I'd happily give him 4 and 45-55 million
