  1. Unless i'm totally wrong, the only one with the power to update the front page is Brian Kapellusch, who more or less stepped away from the site in December 2012 Mass hass used to have some limited ability (as well as myself) but those seem to be gone now... as for what to do, I don't know, but that's the reason the frontpage never changes The best course of action would be to see if Brian is willing to give control over to someone who has the time and energy to work the site the truth is, when this site came online, the majority of the people working behind the scene's were in college or fresh out...now, a decade on, and we are all old, grizzled men with a bunch of kids and an inability to under stand the yibber-jammer coming out of this generation about the internetz.. in other words, bf.net needs fresh people who don't have full time jobs and don't need to sleep
  2. Record 83-79 Division: 3rd All Stars: Braun, Axford Surprises: Marco throws 200 quality innings, Morris winds up getting 300 ab's Disappointments: the aging core starts spending a lot of time on the dl, with Hart, Weeks, and Ramirez missing at least a month apiece, Fiers falls apart, and Rogers washes back out to sea World Series: Laa over La in an all laa la world series
  3. It seems the biggest issue with the Japanese players has been whether they will succeed to start with...aoki has already proven he can hang here...i think he'll be productive with his skill set for another 5 years
  4. If the Brewers just want old pitchers that will probably fall apart on us, why don't they just get capuano and harang from the dodgers for free? Chris Young just signed a minor league deal with the nats! the Brewers have played this whole off season wisely---they have a plan and they are sticking with it---to blow it at the last second would really suck
  5. Yeah, Thats huge...With Gomez a lock to be gone at the end of the year, it's nice to know we won't need to replace two outfielders...Aoki suddenly carries tremendous value
  6. i actually dont think melvin is talking about lohse in that quote...i think he's explaining his reluctance to sign lohse a question: could they give lohse a minor league deal with 10 million in incentives and keep their pick?
  7. Can't we just trade for capuano? I've always been able to justify in some way Doug's moves, but this would be his Jeffrey hammonds.
  8. please no: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/3293/kyle-lohse
  9. I don't think 1b is a as easy as some are making it out to be, but i have no doubt a competent outfielder could pick it up over spring training. I was wondering if Davis might be headed to 1b this year if Morris is in M KE just because he has a noodle for an arm, can't play center, and isn't Ryan Braun. In all seriousness, It's got to be Morris. Although, I don't have much youthful optimism anymore, so i suspect it will be Alex Gonzalez.
  10. on that note, espn announces today that Gio Gonzalez didn't buy illegal supplements from biogenesis...so, im sure everyone will forget about this and move on...
  11. Daric Barton may be the worst 1b in baseball---it's not worth putting aside one of our guys for him. give it to Hunter Morris, he's 25 this year...who knows, maybe he turs into Allen Craig 2013 version
  12. logan shafer, khris davis, and caleb gindl are going to finally have a realistic chance of playing in the majors this season
  13. apparently, it is now Hunter Morris' turn to shine... Gamel, looks like Game over this time...
  14. Had to be removed today because his knee was causing problems... Yippee.
  15. I guess the rumors of your demise were greatly exaggerated...i think you were just faking an injury to skip spring training...or 5 spring trainings...
  16. David, I see your point...but really, I don't even think that will matter... My thoughts are if Taylor and coulter have big years in rookie ball or single a or if roache explodes, then everyone will be talking about the impact 2012 draft. It is pretty clear that the crew hasn't hit with aloof their recent early picks, but I d think last year was different. Of course, guys they picked last year weren't super high on any of the analysts rankings, so naturally, they still aren't ranked high
  17. Two things that stand out here: 1. Could this be a link to the positive test that braun had in 2011? The clinic's ridiculous book keeping doesn't have any dates, as far as I know. Most people thing Braun got away with one. Perhaps this is validation of that. If so, he looks like a gigantic tool for generating this consultant story. I don't believe this one, but i'd say this is obviously the pathway the media will take 2. If the lawyer consultation thing is legit, then it seems like they would have had to submit the "evidence" received from the clinic in the appeal, which would mean Braun is easily exonerated. I think this will happen, but like last time, probably not until everyone has decided he's a cheat. Either way, the negative PR sucks---I really love watching Braun play---he's having the best peak of any Brewer in history, I just hate that he's treated like Kim Jong Saddaam Bin Hitler by the media. especially while obvious users like Ray Lewis (who should be noted, probably murdered two people or at least watched two people get murdered by his friends) get tear filled goodbyes when they retire.. whatever---I just don't want a suspension---If Braun is out for 50 or more games, the Brewers are much more screwed than last year. Umm, Gomez, Aoki, and Schafer would be an incredibly weak outfield...combined with Gamel at 1st Base, and we might be dueling with the Cubs for last.
  18. I would guess the news sites are vindicating themselves from Braun's "false" test last year in other words, this is more of an "I told you so" I don't really see how he could be suspended based on conjecture, but he sure is heck is going to be hated totally until the end of time now edit: if im choosing one of the above, i'll take McNaulty
  19. Eric Arnett appears to have torn his acl (per rotoworld) and will likely miss the season ugh... some guys just aren't destined to make it
  20. Of course, this means whoever they replace him with will win the cy young
  21. I've been kinda thinking that I'd like to see the Brewers bring in a back of the rotation veteran on a one year deal---the kind of guy that you just cut lose, or move to the pen if you want to move someone else into the rotation.. anyway, I've been looking around, and i think the guy i want is: Chris Young i like that he strikes out a decent amount of people and that he won't cost anything...his fip from last year was 4.5, so he's nothing great, but he's better than a random guy---and probably guys like Carlos Zambrano/carl pavano/dice k he could be better---bill jame projection has him at 4.06 next year, or just slightly worse than Kyle Lohse any thoughts on this super bowl sunday?
  22. I really do like Abreu---he's still a good obp guy, and i guess he can technically be an outfielder. He'd be great off the bench. Of course, like every other guy I've mentioned, he's super rich, getting fat, and doesn't have a compelling reason to keep playing.
  23. If we are throwing money into a wishing well, i'd rather try my luck with Jim Thome or Bobby Abreu
  24. watch this...now we will sign carlos lee
