  1. I'd love to have Coco in center...considering the other options, he'd be great.. Going into his age 27 year, i think he'll go back to being very good.. whats the market like for him??? it's gotta be more than jenkins...
  2. word from people close to Salty is that he's not totally focused on his baseball career and possible a bit wild... i think he shares some similarities with palmisano...i'd be happy to have him, but i think the braves might just be sick of this guy...
  3. I think drew really likes the south...I don't think he'll be a brave again, but i think he's a bit of a good old boy...baltimore's not too far from the "south"...maybe drew goes there...
  4. that would be true...that GT team was sick too...Jason Varitek...man, that stuff made my dad happy...
  5. i'm absolutely for this one...Garciaparra is a great stick...and he would appease all the brewerfans that want a true "hitter" I'd give him 3b, and move Hall to the Outfield...then let Braun play in AAA until Nomar gets hurt, and figure it out again in 2008 2 years 18 million sounds good to me...
  6. Trade him to the Brewers for Brady Clark?
  7. any deal that is over 5 years and 100 million dollars for any player less than babe ruth in his prime would kill the brewers..maybe permanently...as they would have to let all their young players walk and sign up a buncha rummies...vernon wells is no babe ruth,...he's no mannay ramirez or vladdy, he's not even really better than carlos lee... he's just not right for the crew...and long term, i think he'll be a major bust
  8. Cubs fans would love Carlos Lee like Joe carter...and it wouldnt make them any better... If they replace ramirez with lee, they'll actually be worse than last year...cool
  9. if that "somethin" was Doug or Mark, I believe you...otherwise...the biggest free agent signing by the crew this winter will be Dave Roberts...
  10. hey! Don't dis rotoworld! That is all.
  11. My favorite is the guy who flies up behind you in the left lane when you are passing someone and flashes his lights at you...obviously, you cant get over because theres a car beside you... once past the car, you turn on your blinker to move to the right and the guy has already swerved next to you... for all this, the guy usually gives you the finger...or pulls in front and jams the brakes
  12. Whoever signs him will probably get a ton of media attention, 30 bombs and a 1.000 OPS... really, i feel bad for this team...all that press and excellent hitting...what will they do?
  13. He doesn't have a connection to Melvin, so the texas thing doesn't really matter and he's going to be asking for too much money... mid level SP's are about the worst place to spend money because they start out at about 7 million a year and seemingly never live up to their contracts... The brewers have the right idea by acquiring guys like bush, capuano, and ohka as MLB ready starters...rather than throwing 10 million at AJ Burnett or 9 Million at Padilla
  14. I don't like Delucci as a 4th outfielder, i like him as a jenkins replacement
  15. weirdos and end...don't let this go any further.... as to the sb argument...you have to look at both Sb's and CS to judge the value of a base stealer...you also need to remember that AL is unflappable
  16. I remember that as well...Plus, he didnt really fare that well as a starter in AAA...and lit it up once he was moved to relief...
  17. orioles or giants... i think he'll stay in san fran...if he has to move to dh, i think it'll be the orioles...
  18. that's a bad example...who cares how good his half season was if he'll never be healthy again... I would definitely move one of these guys for a perenial all-star at another position...pitching prospects will eventually drive you into utter despair..
  19. I would love to see both pitch for the brewers...but if i can go back in time to 2000 and trade nick neugebaur for carlos beltran, i'd do it in a heart beat...
  20. this is certainly very exciting... at 23, he's gotta start pretty high...but a nice thing to find out on the day after baseball ended...
  21. not a terribly exciting playoffs this year...
  22. i havent checked in here til right now, because i suspected this... but i'm glad the cards are gonna win this...i just dont like detroit...and as much as everyone hates eckstein...he might be my favorite non brewer... anyway, i feel weird because of this..
  23. I'm all about Jason Heyward...sounds like a very exciting prospect...
  24. ok fellas...lets not get agitated
  25. Couldn't you see the yankees giving up like 15 picks for the first one though??? teams that dont care about their farm system would dump all their assets into the early rounds.... If the MLB draft were under 10 rounds like football and baseball, it would make more sense...but with 40 rounds, it could ruin parity completely... i'm not sure who would come out on top, but i think it would drive the market in a totally new direction
