  1. I'm aware of the shutdown thanks to Lightfoot sending me an alert on my phone yesterday. Just pointing out that there are still tons of people out and about. The parks near us on the southside are packed whenever the sun comes out. I'm also near Chinatown, so there are a lot of people who do not understand what social distancing is. They have tape on the floor at the grocery store to indicate how far apart to stand and about 90% of people get it, but there are still enough who will just stand right behind me and look confused when I ask them to back up.

  4. Then those lazy asses need to start listening to people other than the media. There are plenty of epidemiologists and infectious disease docs out there on Twitter and other places to get informed. If people don't want to do that then that's on them. The problem is its not just on them. The poor decisions they make could very well kill others.

  6. Today I am finally taking a breadth and feel somewhat caught up. I run a program that protects critical utilities in Illinois and SE WI so I've been extremely busy as we transitioned all office base personnel to work from home and had to outfit field personnel with software to be able to conduct virtual meetings. Its almost a relief to have Shelter In Place orders nearly active in both states. This is the new normal for the foreseeable future and hopefully the change will stop and we can get back into a routine. I hope to be able to take advantage of not having a commute soon by spending that additional time with my 1-year old daughter and having lots of video calls with my parents (who are both in pretty bad shape health wise).
  7. There are none. Initially several anti-viral drugs already approved for other viruses were hoped to help. I believe 2 have been tried and the results are they FAILED to work as hoped. Both didn't do anything compared to controls to stop COVAD-19. Another hope is the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine. It has been used to treat the parasitic infection that causes malaria. One uncontrolled tiny "study" indicated hydroxychloroquine might help. How an anti-parasitic drug will be better than an anti-viral drug in treating coronavirus is not mechanistically clear. At this point hydroxychloroquine is a YUGE long-shot given that tens of thousands of drugs that show promise in small uncontrolled experiments end up with no positive result when properly tested in large studies. The greatest hope, to date ,was a japanese anti-viral that has been showing very good results with other viral infections and it failed. And for the vaccine rumors. There will be no completely protective vaccine. PERIOD. We have been searching for a vaccine for the common cold forever. The common cold is caused by Rhinovirus, coronavirus (human versions - COVID-19 jumped from animals) and several other viruses. Flu (influenza) has so many variants that when you do get a "yearly" flu vaccine you get many strains that they hope will be the common flu for the year - some years it works well, other years different/new strains are common that they didn't predict. So every year we get new shots for new/existing strains. COVID-19 is a coronavirus that is related to the human coronavirus that causes the "common" cold. There's a reason Fauci always says a vaccine is a long way away. I saw on the news that a man in AZ died from taking hydroxychloroquine and his wife is in critical condition. I won't post a link because the articles and the woman's response is pretty political. Personally, I've got a bottle of expired guaifenesin, an expectorant. I have to imagine that would help with the symptoms.
  8. I saw the same thing! They were probably satellites all in the same orbit. Could it be SpaceX StarLink?
  9. What a horrible graphic. Did Milwaukee County slide into the lake?
  10. Definitely Brady Clark. I remember it well. One of the finest catches in the team's history, but it got next to no love nationally due to how terrible the team was at that time. Yeah, I mention it as one of my favorite catches as well earlier in the thread, but, like you, I haven't seen that play in ages. I thought it was one of the best catches I'd seen when it happened, but I'd like a fresh take on it because I don't remember it 100%, besides that it was at Coors Field. Sorry I missed your post, but good to hear I am not the only one who remembers. I'd love to see a video, because if it is as I remember, it was probably the best catch I've ever seen, given no other context.
  11. For some reason I keep picturing a Brady Clark over the shoulder, backhand catch in my head, but I can't find anything on the internet about it.
  12. Well it did take those coaches 5 seasons to get him to fumble less. http://www.nfl.com/player/ahmangreen/2500887/careerstats Wasn't his issue essentially that he sweated too much? Once they outfitted him with some sleeves on his forearms his fumble problems disappeared.
  13. I completely hated Ad Astra and I can't remember why but I hated it. Having your plane land and missing the end is probably the best possible way to watch Ad Astra.
  14. Bars in central WI show House Hunters? Is this serious or a joke?
  15. Given that I clarified my position: "And let me clarify my argument about Rodgers. Do I not think he was a top 10 QB in the 2019 regular season. I do not expect him to be a top 10 QB in 2020 without some changes made. Do I think he is one of the best 10 QBs in football currently- yes, without a doubt. But the results were not there and will not be there if we do the exact same thing next year." here is that list as requested based on DVOA. I don't get to watch as much football as I used to, but it would seem that most statistical analysis and counting stats would place Rodger's below this group, with some obvious exceptions like Bridgewater. Either way, I assume you get the point that I am making. 16. What evidence do you have that our WRs are as bad as everyone says they are? I'm tired of this narrative. I see Lazar and Kumerow make athletic plays all over the field when they get a target. If they are so bad that they can't properly run a route and then don't deserve targets they should be cut. Every other team is capable of fielding a WR corps and we have a QB that used to be able to spread the ball around. And let me clarify my argument about Rodgers. Do I not think he was a top 10 QB in the 2019 regular season. I do not expect him to be a top 10 QB in 2020 without some changes made. Do I think he is one of the best 10 QBs in football currently- yes, without a doubt. But the results were not there and will not be there if we do the exact same thing next year. If you think Rodgers without a doubt is one of the top 10 best QBs in football but you also think our WRs are good enough, that doesn't really jive. You say he won't be a top 10 QB in 2020 without some changes, that's fair. What do you think needs to change? This isn't the hill I want to die on, but I don't think I am making an illogical argument that Rodgers still has the talent and mental makeup that would put him within the top 10 QBs in the NFL and that our WR corps is better than the stats they put up this year. I don't believe it is an either-or (Rodgers sucks or the WRs suck, but both cannot be better than the results). There are tons of other variables that could be in play like scheme, competition, in game adjustments, injury, etc.
  17. I'm really curious to see if MM's Cowboys have lots of injury problems. If so, I think you could reasonably conclude that there is something about MM's practices or game planning that has an effect on overall team health. I can't remember the last time prior to this season that we had this level of consistency in the starting lineup.
  18. What evidence do you have that our WRs are as bad as everyone says they are? I'm tired of this narrative. I see Lazar and Kumerow make athletic plays all over the field when they get a target. 19. Just looked it up. I totally missed the news- I guess that's what I get for leaving the country for a couple weeks over the holidays. What evidence are you using to definitively say he was a top 10 QB?
  20. Now that Rodgers is not a top 10 QB, maybe they could restructure his contract to lessen the cap hit for the next couple of years. He's of course under no obligation to do so, but I think Brady did something similar for his last few years in NE. If that gives them the cap space to bring in another WR or add to the OL, Rodgers might decide that is worth it to him.
  21. I don't like the idea of putting the idea in the refs head that if it is close rule it a fumble and let replay sort it out because if replay is inconclusive you possibly award a TD when he was down. Sometimes the refs on the spot really do have the best sight of the play. Sometimes, sure, but clearly not in this instance. I'd be willing to bet that you would have a much more accurate game overall if the refs aired on the side of letting the play continue with replay to possibly overturn. If a single ref is the only one who can see something that replay can't prove, that has to be a very exceptional play- in which case all fans are going to be upset anyway because on the TV broadcast it will look like the ref is incorrect no matter what.
  22. Sherman typically stays at left corner, that's just his style of play - I'd put a combo of MVS, Lazard, and Allison opposite Sherman and run a bunch of go routes or short breaking outs to essentially take Sherman out of the game. Moving Adams to the other side probably draws double coverage from the 49ers with a corner and safety, which would then leave 1 safety, a nickle corner, and either an extra DB or LBs for GB to try and pick on. If Rodgers can get a little bit of time I think there are opportunities for combo routes with Adams crossing the field to draw defenders and open up deep seam and corner routes for a slot receiver or TE to make some big plays. Guys like Lazard, Tonyan, Graham, and even Sternberger are going to need to step up. I'd also like to see Jones used in the passing game - not so much screens or checkdowns, but wheel routes and slants coming out of the backfield to try and get him in space moving forward. San Fran's defense actually can be run on, as long as you don't try to get outside - their LBs and DE's are just too fast in pursuit. The best bet is to line up and try smashing them in the mouth with a power running game. The difficulty in that is it's tough to run both a power running game and spread passing attack with the same personnel groupings, and I think the way to beat S.F. is to either go full-on Tennessee Titan with a bellcow running back or spread them out to force them out of their base personnel. I don't think the Packers are good enough in the power run game, so I'd prefer they spread 'em out and hope Rodgers plays out of his mind. I could actually see MLF trying to open up the offense vertically with the personnel for the power running game. Look at the snap counts and groupings that were successful against Seattle. Here is from an article on Acme Packing Company today: Tight Ends Marcedes Lewis 42, Jace Sternberger 28, Jimmy Graham 24, Robert Tonyan 21 As mentioned earlier, the Packers used a huge dose of Marcedes Lewis as they tried to get the run game going. It didn’t work much outside of the red zone, but the rotation of this group proved to be effective enough to get Jones into the end zone and to create some space for Adams in the passing game.
  23. Isn't there a maximum number of challenges allowed even if you win them all? So they would by definition be unable to do it all the time. I think if anything is overturned on the play, it should be treated as a win and the challenger should not be fined. In this instance, the refs made multiple mistakes on a single play. To lose a TO because you challenged the wrong mistake, or the second mistake could not be challenged because the first mistake makes the second one not applicable strikes me as stubborn and irrational.
  24. The Bucks are on pace to go 70-12 halfway through the season which would be the third best record in NBA history. They have a point differential of a full 4 points better than the second best team in the NBA. What do they need to do to impress you? Even if they go undefeated the rest of the way there is going to be a segment of fans that is not convinced that this team can win in the post season until they see Giannis successfully defeat the Giannis wall.
