  1. I should probably keep my thoughts to the political forum...
  2. How easy would it be for a guy of his build to baloon up and be 310 or 320? I think he should be proud of his physique as well. Dude is built like a tank. I imagine it's taken a lot of work to keep his weight down and even drop some weight coming into this year. I do have to say, and this is a little off topic, he always annoyed the hell outta me with his "hold me back," type of confrontations. Those where he would start yelling only when there were guys there to hold him back, would never do anything. Kinda like stomping over to the Dodgers dugout. But I digress. One guy who would be impressive in here is Gomez. He's built. Rickie would as well as he's built like a big NFL RB, but he's not as cut up as he used to be. We have the luxury of being familiar with Prince's genetics. The fact that he has kept his body fat low is a testement to his hard work, which is why I said good for him. Its really impressive to me. I agree about the hold me back type stuff. The crazy thing is, I have no doubt how dangerous he would be if he actually wanted to fight someone. Look what he did to that Giants catcher a couple years back. Braun or Gomez would be impressive. Weeks was starting to look like Gabe Kappler a few years ago. He almost moved past RB type body towards LB or SS.
  3. Good for Prince. If I looked like that I'd be proud of myself.
  4. I bash him because he bashed his wife. He's not someone I'm happy about rooting for.
  5. They are all over the suburbs, but it would be nice to have a few in the actual city. My friends and I used to joke about opening a Culvers/Rocky's/Cousin's in downtown Chicago.
  6. I was 13 and at summer camp. No TV, didn't hear anything about it until I got home. Here's the kicker, June 17th is my birthday. So I've got this to remember it by.
  7. For that to work Bradley is going to have to play up to his potential. I'm not sure what happened yesterday, maybe it was a match up problem, but he didn't look very good.
  8. Best moments from Silicon Valley Season 1: 1. Final Episode, basically the entire part in the hotel room 2. Kid getting slapped in the face 3. When the shirts got delivered and the reactions everyone had to them.
  9. Ugg, so worried Snow is going to die in this next episode at the Wall.
  10. Silicon Valley gets a lot of laughs from me.
  11. You could park in Skokie and take the Yellow Line. You could also park at Waukegan and take the Metra (requires a transfer to the CTA). Or you could just drive. Depending on when you are going its not that bad traffic wise.
  12. The real question ESPN should be asking is "who's more NOW?"
  13. Its hard to get sick to my stomach over Juan Francisco.
  14. I think he has learned a lot since his disasterous 2011. I still don't care for his logic in general, but he seems well liked by his players at this point. In terms of giving him his due, I think that should be done somewhat independent of the team's record. He hasn't seemed to cost us any games so far this year. I'll take it after what I saw his first couple of years.
  15. Contact one of the owners or a mutual contact and schedule a meeting. I'd imagine that you would have to find someone interested in selling some ownership and that you would have to have more than $10 mil avilable for them to be interested in meeting with you.
  16. Does this include some minor league data? If not, could you add IP onto your chart, because my guess is these numbers tell us next to nothing.
  17. I didn't feel much of anything except some boredom. I think this show is getting away from me, which is crazy considering I loved the comics and the subject material in general.
  18. If you can make the drive, Steamboat sounds like its exactly what you are looking for.
  19. This. And yes, Die Hard counts.
  20. Are the groups randomly chosen? I mean, it seems like we really got screwed here just looking at the world rankings.
  21. Soooo, what are our chances in what appears to be a really tough group?
  22. To follow up, that's not just something I throw around. I don't play as many games as I used to (stupid being an adult getting in the way), but its my opinion and I feel strongly that it is the best game I've ever played. For the decade prior to that, I would have said Ocarina of Time and I didn't think that would ever change.
  23. A 2009# 34 ranked prospect who was listed right behind Andrew McCutchen then got hurt a few years and was now looking for a league minimum contract. Yes, he is the exact type of player I would be talking about bringing in given our options for the future at first.
  24. That's quite the leap, TLB. I would rather see the Brewers re-sign Corey Hart, and/or give Hunter Morris the opportunity. Gamel had more than enough chances in Milwaukee. I'm not saying it's his fault he repeatedly got hurt, but that was the situation. This I agree with. Hart is probably our best option, and at this point, we will see just how serious he was about playing here for less money/hometown discount/etc. I'd much rather roll with Hart or Morris. The page has been turned on Gamel and Green, I'd rather leave it that way and let someone else ride that merry go round. Outside of injury, Hart is a pretty safe option. I agree that Hart is probably the best option at this point, but I also don't really care that much about "this point." Its entirely possible that Gamel will be the best option sometime in the future and I would hate to miss out on that.
  25. Getting off topic, but I agree on PEDs for recovery. Its hard for me to get mad at a player for wanting to use the best medical treatment that's available to stay on the field in the case of injury or to recover faster between games and workouts. Why do people believe that the only reason Braun took PEDs was to avoid or recover from injuries. Because he said so? Also, so it's ok to lie and cheat as long as the reason you are doing it is to make money? Really? Are these the values we want to endorse in our society? 1- I didn't say I believe Braun did or didn't take PEDs for recovery. 2- I didn't say its ok to lie and cheat to make money. That being said, I think its most likely he did use PEDs for recovery but nobody except him knows for sure. And while I don't think its ok to lie and cheat to make money there are far more things to get upset about in MLB and the world around us. For example, have you ever driven faster than the speed limit? I have, I do it all the time. And if a cop pulls me over I'll lie about how fast I was going to try to get out of a ticket. Why do I lie, cheat, and break the rules? Same reason as everyone else, in some areas the speed limit is set too low and I want to get wherever faster that what someone in my state arbitrarily deemed allowable. Does this make me a bad person? Does it make all the other people who speed, likely yourself included, bad people? Is what Braun did worse? Most will probably say totally different situations, but I think they are pretty similar. An arbitrary limit was set on what constitutes a PED in baseball (creatine, caffeine, amino acids, protein, NO2 = ok vs ephedrine, marijuana, HGH, IGF, ect = bad) and some players want to get there faster with safe alternatives the general public is able to use. Sure, MLB players signed a contract agreeing to the arbitrary rules, but I signed one too when I got a drivers license just like you. My point is, I don't think players should take PEDs and I don't think they should lie about it. But its hard to say I wouldn't given their situation and I am not going to hold the decision to partake and lie about it against someone forever, especially if its a one time situation or if its lesser drugs (HGH vs Stanozolol for example).
