  1. Let's not overlook another nice outing by Shouse and Linebrink looking pretty good in their innings of relief. Too bad it was for nothing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  2. Please, please, please, show some post-game Ned.
  3. I'm as optimistic of a Brewers fan as the next guy, but man oh man something has to change. Does a managerial move need to be made just to mix something up? Teams have done it before and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Is this all entirely Ned's fault? No, absolutely not. But if something needs to change I'd rather get rid of Ned before any of our young talented players. If it wasn't the Brewers this would be laughable. But it's our Brewers and it's hard to watch. C'mon Crew, get it together.
  4. I just sat and stared at my TV in shock. Just wow. Thank God for the day off tomorrow, something has to change. They had a golden opportunity to atleast salvage the series and have a 3-5 road trip, not bad by Brewer standards. But no. 6-0, lose. Two hits vs. an 0-10 pitcher, lose. 5-0, lose. Add the walk off losses in Cincy and what you have is not a winning team. Winning teams don't allow those types off losses that many times in one week. Winning teams pull out a win and atleast salvage what they can. They don't kick it in again when they are up 5-0 for yet another impressive loss. SERENITY NOW
  5. Yeah, I'm not sure we have room for Ensberg, especially the way his year is going. I was somewhat surprised to see him getting DFA'd, being a slightly bigger name and all, but with Wiggington going to Houston, I suppose it makes sense. Granted, he was really only decent from '03-'05, with I think it was like 35 HR's in '05. Still a little surprising for me, since I guess I haven't really followed him ever, I still thought he was a somewhat decent player.
  6. The real question is Who's Now. Who generates the most buzz both on the field and off the field. Are you kidding me. This stuff is getting ridiculous, borderline enough to stop watching ESPN. I don't care about Tom Brady's "baby mama drama." I don't even know if that makes sense. I don't even think the judges (who happen to be a smattering of actors, actresses, sideline reporters and reporters who think their opinions matter) realize that the crap they are talking about is entirely pointless, which is the most aggrevating part about it. And I'm tired of the last thing I hear before going to work in the morning being that Big Things Poppin' song or whatever they play after the five minutes of mindless junk they just ran.
  7. I know that was directed towards SoCal a bit, but... I would consider this a fun and successful season if we end up with a winning record and are in the division or wild card chase for the better part of September. If we were an NBA team and started 24-10, then yes, I would expect playoffs, which is beside the point because more than 1/2 of all the teams in the NBA make it. It is possible that the 24-10 start was the bigger oddity than the 33-38 record since. As for when does "next year" become now, I would say next year to be honest. Fielder, Weeks (yikes), Hardy and Hart will have another full season under their belts, Braun will have 2/3 of a full season and Yo should, and Parra could crack our rotation after some spot starting and relief appearances this year, and they won't be as "limited" in the innings they are going to be given to pitch next year. Not throwing in the towel for this year or anything by any means, but taking all things into consideration in my opinion "next year" really can be the year.
  8. I'm going to have to agree more with SoCal than Luke on this one. We are set to be a competitive team for a few years to come. We've been getting better, and last year went 75-87, nothing spectacular but baby steps. Say the Crew does continue to play this bad on the road, and doesn't make the playoffs, is it the end of their chances in the near future to make it or go to the World Series? No way. I thought the general consensus going into this year was that if they did well and made the playoffs it would be more of a bonus than anything else. Personally, since '05 I've been thinking '08 would be the year we would really come out as winners. Then when we started 25-11, I thought this would just be me getting proved wrong again and the Crew being able to do it a year earlier than I thought, and now we're somewhat "leveling out" I guess. I don't know, I guess my thought was always that 2008 would be "the year" and that anything sooner would be gravy, so while I'd love to see the team get back to it's winning ways this year, it wouldn't turn me off to the Brewers if they don't make the playoffs.
  9. His voice will get really high, he'll screw up his face like a kid does when his dad asks him to clean out the garage, and he'll say something profound like "guys, guys, come on. It's just a game. It's our guys against their guys, and that's part of baseball." And that will be that. That's nailing it on the head to say the least, I'm only going to watch the post-game so I can see it actually happen, because it will.
  10. We have two (2) hits in 8 innings. For the most part, against a guy who is 0-10 with a 6.4 whatever ERA. You don't get to 0-10 by pure bad luck. It takes some reasonable lack of skill to earn that impressive stat. I would say we've hit rock bottom for as bad as we are playing on the road but the last time I did that we got no-hit a few days later so I'd prefer not to jinx it.
  11. We've scored 6+ runs in two consecutive days?...
  12. It's a blast having the division lead and being in a pennant race for the first time in years and years. I just smile at the thought of it, and smile when I walk into Miller Park and see 35k on a Tuesday night. It's by far the funnest time I've had being a Brewer fan in years. But, at the same time, the games we are losing, we are losing in ugly fashions. For the most part we aren't getting beat by better teams. We are losing winnable games to sub-.500 teams. Blown saves, runs not scoring from third with no outs, bases loaded with less than two outs and only one run or less. We're doing it ugly and it's just disappointing. I see nothing wrong with people being upset with losing games the way we are. Now if we're getting beat 3-2 in a pitcher's duel against the ace of the other team's staff, or 7-6 by the Red Sox without blowing a save, you get the picture. We're losing winnable games and games we already had won and that's why if someone vents, they should be allowed to do so.
  13. A. I feel terrible for Parra as well, great outing, wasted. B. This would have been a great win, taking the first two in St. Louis is always an excellent thing. Especially when we have the opportunity to add a 1/2 game ahead of Chicago. C. Just wow. I agree with the sentiment that this is the worst loss of the year. No hitter, whatever, Verlander was on and we were somewhat off. This takes it, we are up 6-0, can add to our lead in the division, by winning against a somewhat decent division rival and we throw it down the tubes, both at the plate and on the rubber. We need to get the base hits that matter even when we are winning our bullpen definitely needs to take a look at what the deal is here, this just can't happen in this type of game. Absolute bummer of a game, no two ways about it. And I'm almost convinced Braun will pass Fielder in HR's.
  14. LOUD NOISES http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. We're fine...two saves for Coco today.
  16. Chalk up another scoreless for Turnbow.
  17. I'm a Jenkins fan, and defended bringing him back for this year and not trading him, but man, I'm finding it hard to even defend him when he swings at some of the stuff he's been swinging at recently, not just today. Get your head on straight Geoff we're going to need you here with the right approach the rest of the way. And by right approach I mean not swinging at pitches that could land in the 3rd base dugout and absolutely swinging out of your shoes for home runs.
  18. http://www.mathsyear2000.co.uk/numberland/58/pic58.jpg GO REDS
  19. Looks like decent AB so far...c'mon EDIT...Bonds walks...

  21. Doesn't look like Valentin has been in yet tonight...
  22. Icky. It would be extremely nice to see the Reds pull this out in the bottom...assuming Weathers can end an inning.
  23. There we go Braun, get on the board. I'm also concerned about Dunn getting pulled like that...please not CHC... EDIT: BA's call..."Edmonds comes in for it...that's not Edmonds"
