  1. Derrick Turnbow doesn't implode whenever there are inherited runners I don't think that's as bold as most people think. Only in 2007 was Turnbow awful with runners on base.
  2. 1. Yost will quickly go away from batting the catcher ninth 2. The Brewers have a hitter with a .300 batting average 3. Brewers take a catching prospect with their first round draft pick Bonus: Wisconsin beats Georgetown.
  3. Ready to be lambasted for batting my catcher ninth. (Yeah, I use the word "lambasted.") That would be great if Yost actually said that.
  4. /This thread should probably be locked and redirected to the above
  5. Mhgb, lagging is not the norm. My first online experience was with Madden for the PS2 and was very laggy. Sorry, but if you want online experience you got to go with X-box 360.
  6. Reading is nice though, I wouldn't have came here(the drunk thread) unless I was drinking. I kinda wish I had stayed home and played army of two, but there were Latino chicks at my house anyways watching the George Lopez marathon. She came out with me to the junky local bar and now it's time for pizza. Ahhhh drunk thread, I try not to come to you during the week... but it's Friday.
  7. Ahhhh snow, the perfect excuse to call into work and watch B-ball all day. I'll take a stab, throw my name in the drawing please.
  8. I wouldn't mind the Brewers moving to Flordia. At first it struck me as a bad idea, but the more I think about it the better it sounds. The Brewers and the ocean would be a good combination. I'd wait until they had games against the Twins and Redsox and head down there for those few games.
  9. It looks like he has a big dip of chew in his mouth in that picture.
  10. So before we get to the start of the season, does anybody besides BCF feel that we shouldn't rest healthy players? I heard a lot of complaints last season about all the rest we were giving players, in particlual the catchers. I also agree that maybe I gave to much rest to the middle infielders and I thought Yost did a good job last year. I still think Weeks needs a bit more rest then Hardy though. His bat waggle has got to be hard on his rigid wrists. He needs to rest and ice those things at least every ten days and hopefully about twice a week (counting scheduled off days of course.)
  11. I'm guessing Gwynn gets sent down when Cameron comes back. I think Joe Dillon will be on the team when they start the season also.
  12. I'm not worried about being doomed, when the robot revolution comes I'll just sell out the human race to our new metal overlords.
  13. Hey logan that was a sweet article and I have experienced shooter zen playing a friend in Star Wars BattleFront 2 on xbox. I was down to one guy and he had 46 left. I came back to win. My heart was beating really fast and I was all like "ooooohhhhh I'm in the zone man don't even bring your guy around me your just going to die." I had to quit playing for awhile after that game.
  14. If you want online fun you should probably by an xbox 360. Best online strategy out there. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
  15. How bout you check Brewerfan so often you post minutes after the original post.
  16. I think it's good practice to rest players during the course of a season regardless of the off-days that each team gets. I know it does not make fans happy to see there favorite players out of the line-up, but 162 games is a long tiring season. So my question is, how much rest should each of our "everyday" players get. Here is what I think would be appropriate assuming no injuries. Fielder: One day a month and DHing during interleague play Weeks: One day a week Hardy: One day a week Hall: One day a week Kendall: Every 3rd game Braun: One day every month and Dhing one or two games during interleague Cameron: One day a month (should be fresh after serving his suspension) Hart: One day a month and Dhing one or two games during interleague This is not hard and fast since you wil want to rest players when there is a bad matchup for them. Righty/lefty, etc. I was hoping we could come to some sort of aggreement before the seasons started that rest is important and the amount of rest each player gets since there is usually a lot of complaining about how the manager fills out the lineup card. What do you guys think?
  17. Tiger is the most dominant athlete.... ever? I think he might be.
  18. Like this "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."
  19. I think it's pretty evident that Parra is one of the top five SP the Brewers have. However, he has options so put him in AAA. The drop off won't be that great and we will need him soon enough anyways. There will probably be an injury to one of the pitchers in the starting rotation before Mid-May. I was wondering if anybody knows how late into the year the Brewers and other teams have stuck with their original five starters and when the last time a team made it all year with the same 5 guys.
  20. I'm on page 5, "Do I believe in Miracles" Yes..... Uh I guess that means put me into the drawing.
  21. I wonder how many ankle injuries are twisted testicles and anal fissures. I think I would be comfortable with some Belichickness in regards to the Cubs and Astros recent injury reports.
  22. We are getting exactly what we thought we would. There was also the intangible of putting the Brewers on the map as contenders. I don't know what effect that had on ticket sales, (it sure raised the price of parking) but it definetly sent a signal from Attanasio that the Brewers were serious about winning. I don't think it was a bad signing since it was a fairly short contract that didn't break the bank. Suppan is also a guy that a lot of teams that are contending would want to have for the stretch run and if the Brewers are floundering I don't think Suppan would veto a trade to a contender. He definetly wouldn't veto a trade if it got him closer to his resteraunt in California. hmmmm cheesestake.
  23. Ohhh no we're going to have to many outfielder's. I thought Hart would be in CF this year actually. I think next offseason we'll wait till the all-star break or May and call LaPorta up if he is doing well in AAA by the end of this year. I can't believe I don't remember this, but do we have an option for Cameron for next year? If we do we might pick that up and have a quality player for April and then a very nice bench player the rest of the way.
  24. I thought Bender's big score was excellent. I had low expectations after reading the Amazon.com reviews about how they just recylced characters and catch phrases. I didn't think they did that at all. The extras were not all to impressive. Everybody Loves Hypnotoad was funny and I did watch the entire thing with a friend. It was kind of brutal..... ha ha ha. My favorite charcter by far is Zoidberg, but my favorite robot is probably the communist/robotist greeting card that Bender befriends, but rips in half after finding out that the robots ideal world won't have alchol in it. My favorite quote. reporter 1: I forget what the letter that looks like a little man in a hat sounds like reporter 2: It's a T, it makes a tttt sound reporter 1: Oh, hello little man, I WILL DESTROY YOU!
