  1. Would be nice to get a runner on 3rd with no outs in...but hey...this wouldnt be the Brewers otherwise!
  2. Yikes. Today looking pretty scary! Burnes cant control the fastball.
  3. Who else would you put there? Cain. For one, I think he hit into some tough luck last year. For two, it goes right, left, right, left, etc. With the new 3 batter minimum rule it would probably make it harder on opposing managers later in games. I should admit that I am not a fan of Sogard, but hope he repeats his line from last year.
  4. I'm not. That's the top school in one of the most talent laden states and a historical powerhouse. They spend money, attract talent and they get guys to the NFL. If you're an 18 year old kid, you don't care enough about Jerry Sandusky to eliminate PSU from your list. I suppose that's true, but I thought they just had some other things pop up? I'm probably misremembering.
  5. I would have preferred Washington Football Club. I like the number on the helmets.
  6. I dont think they will cancel fall sports. They basically said if they dont run it someone else will, and they won't use as strong of guidelines.
  7. I see we are gonna run the Sogard at leadoff experiment into the ground. That's fun.
  8. Yea. I anticipate that's how most will be. We are supposed to get an update beginning of August. I am just anticipating being back face to face.
  9. And the big 8 and cannot hold in person practices. Basically means no fall sports for big 8.
  10. Slightly off topic, but I'm always amazed when guys have schools like Penn St. in their final grouping. Hasnt PSU had some major issues again lately?
  11. Nice. I didn't realize that. I will check it out.
  12. Saw a preview for it and had me intrigued. Thanks. I have a hard time getting into shows knowing I have to wait to see the next episode. #firstworldproblem
  13. I am battling Darwin this weekend for a bachelor party in the dells. I feel selfish, but I am not sure I can just sit around.
  14. Used for PE and lunch... in all truth though, a lot of those rooms are multipurpose rooms anyway and are used for more than that. The school that I'm at for years used the gym as the lunch room. Our current school has PE every minute of the day. The lunchroom is used as a multipurpose room used throughout the day for a variety of things.
  15. I like the idea if using the high school for younger grades. Not a bad idea. The issue there is that many of those children dont live in that 'area' and getting to school would be tough.
  16. My niece is raised by a single mom who is a nurse, so the rest of us are wondering what we're going to do if there isn't anywhere for her to go in the fall. In the spring she was basically passed around the family which in practice meant maybe 1 hour of instruction per day while everyone was working or on video calls. If schools going to be 'closed', they still need to provide 8 hours/day of supervision for children of essential workers. Even if it is essentially just supervision and no instruction. This is another concern of mine. Parents need to be able to plan.
  17. Almost every other country already figured this out! We didn't need to stay isolated until it's gone! We just needed to get the virus down to the point where we could do contact tracing. Now that the virus is everywhere again the current situation will continue for several more months until the virus numbers are back to where they are in Europe. It will take forever because we're technically already "open", we didn't go back to lockdown after all. No further opening can happen because nothing will change as long as substantial chunk of the population is unwilling to take unnecessary risks to reopen. Travel can't recover because people don't want to travel when the virus is everywhere. Schools can't reopen because people don't want to send their kids to schools where the virus is everywhere. There's nothing that can be done policy-wise to change that, except to get the freaking virus numbers down! Which is a whole other issue. People can't even agree on what numbers to use. You cited rising cases...they cited lower death rates and increased testing(although positive test rates are going up greater than total test rates). People also refuse to believe the numbers and stats that are shown, so I think its next to impossible to contain it lower at this point. That's even with seeing how New York is now.
  18. A lot of kids have been out and about this summer, but a lot of kids have been in basically total isolation. COVID or not, when these kids all meet again there will be a bunch of illnesses in the fall that aren't COVID. There are every year. That alone with all the fear going around will be an issue in itself. Nightmare is the right word. Great point. I then wonder about parents that have to choose. Do I send my kid to school and go to work, or not work? I just read about a parent that came into contact with someone with covid, but she wasnt showing symptoms. Sent her kid to daycare. Lo and behold, she had it and was asymptomatic. Now there was an outbreak at the daycare. If one child or staff member catches it...the school gets shut down and we go right to virtual learning. Going to be a mess trying to connect with kids that havent established that connection with the teacher. You are correct. Nightmare.
  19. Our district just laid out guidelines for reopening. It is going to be a nightmare. I am legit concerned about subs. They want us to stay home if we have any of the common symptoms(they listed the 8 or so) or if our children have those symptoms. Are they going to give us more sick time? Doubtful. As far as subs, in the past we would have to take the other class and have it be 1 teacher to 36-40 students , but they have ssid no class sharing to limit exposure. It just isnt going to work.
  20. I don't know the exact number, but isnt the number of drinks for binge drinking like...5? My friends and I would have fit in that group of the 4 to 5 days a week.
  21. Not sure if anyone wants to start a 2020 version, but just saw the Big Ten is only playing conference games this year. Stinks about the ND game. A few other conferences are coming out with changes as well.
  22. I think our school is taking temperatures before entering. If the kid has a fever they go home.
  23. I was at that game. (Braun hit a 2 run homer in the first inning and that was it for the score 2-0). In his 2nd AB, Nelson hit the ball past the LFer onto the warning track and made a turn at first, the ball got back in quickly and he had to run full speed back to first and dove in. For what seems like a career ending/derailing injury, it didn't seem like a big deal at the time because he stayed in the game and was thereafter eliminated on a double play. He then went out and pitched the full bottom half of the inning. Thanks!
