  1. yeah, it just came to me and I came back to tell you I now get it. lol
  2. COVID is definitely not over. People are still contracting it, and people are still passing it on to others. I went 3 years without getting it, but a month ago, I got it and it was not a lot of fun.
  3. I'd have given Burnes a shot at the complete game shut-out. Let him go out for the 9th, and at the first hint of trouble, pull him. 89 pitches just screams LET HIM PITCH!
  4. Gallen is far better than he has fared so far this year. I think some are not giving this kid enough credit.
  5. I'm on board for transitioning Yelich to a 1B/DH role when needed. Just too much talent in our young outfielders to have Yelich clog them up. At minimum, Yelich needs to start playing some 1B next season, so hopefully they start playing him there next spring training, if not before. I'd hate to use his bat at DH or 1B, but sadly, he is going to have to play someplace. I know some of you think we are willing to bench him, but I don't see us benching a 26 million dollar man. It would be nice he he would get hot for an extended period of time before the deadline so there might be a 10% chance we could move him. More than likely though, if he shows that kind of improvement, and is helping the team, we wouldn't trade him then either. Might have to be in the off season, so if he could get hot the second half of the season, that would be great.
  6. Yeah, all 30 of them. He's just not the same BA he was when he was full time. Doesn't know the nuances of the team, just feels like he shows up, reads a few notes prior to the game and wings it. It will be a different feel to the booth this year with BA calling very few games, and Bill Schroeder doing fewer and fewer road games. A time for change I guess.
  7. I think it's ok for those who are fine with the outfielders that we have on the roster now, but as soon as one of the "non outfielders" who are taking up outfielders positions blow a catch, or a big play in the game, some people might not feel so fine with the roster construction. We'll see what happens, but if we lose a game or two on questionable outfield play from guys who don't normally play those positions, it is going to be a bit bothersome.
  8. That's a great tradition! I have watched FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH every year since I can remember on the weekend before the school year starts, and DAZED AND CONFUSED the weekend school gets out for the summer... I watched FAST TIMES this year the weekend before school started even though I was no longer going to be going to school... lol
  9. This is my first year for an opening day after retiring from teaching in June. I no longer have to check my phone and computer for scores, I get to watch it in person! It seems to me like there have been a lot of day games for Brewers opening day, or am I just imagining that? It always felt like I was working during the game.
  10. Then we will just have to agree to disagree. To me, that is an average defense.
  11. Rowdy questionable defense Yelich, no throwing arm in LF Contreras average defense for his position Urias doesn't have the arm to be an elite 3B Anderson in RF, I have no clue what his defense is like. That stacks up to an average defense at best, and not even close to or in the same ballpark as the best defense in baseball.
  12. And where does that get us exactly? A wild card playoff appearance? A possible division championship and an early playoff exit? I get it, we need those things if we are going to have a chance, but this offensive line-up will not take us to the world series without a stellar year from our entire pitching staff.
  13. Well, technically, we DID keep him...
  14. Tyson Miller was pretty impressive in spring training, not entirely sure why they didn't keep him.
  15. Probably the Cubs, Cardinals, Pirates or Reds so Keston can be a Brewer killer for the next 5 years. Honestly, seeing him with the Cubs or Cards would be be icing on the cake.
  16. lol That just came out of nowhere!
  17. Watched ALIVE yesterday. That is a movie that will make you think about a lot of things. If you haven't watched it for some unknown reason, do it! Re-watched both Anchorman movies last weekend. Though both are entertaining and have their moments, I feel like they have been elevated above where they should be on the "great" movie scale... Still worth the watch. Tried to sit through Dudley Moore's ARTHUR today. Made it through about 20 minutes, and that was enough. Not sure why that one ever made my collection to begin with, but it's a goner now.
  18. There are a lot of people who tune into just about every single game during the season. I know a lot of them, and we aren't just talking about 80 year olds. Several people I worked with, in their 20's and 30's tune into al most every game. I know guys in their 40's and 50's who tune into every game. Does everyone who tunes in watch all 9 innings, probably not, but thinking there is no one who tunes into almost every game is just not true.
  19. Ok, that's fair. But again, when he took them to arbitration, he knew, KNEW that they would have to state why it was that they didn't feel he deserved what he asked for. This is how the game works, and him having hurt feelings is why he said the things he said after. Had Burnes won, would he have said the same things, or would he have felt the victor and that would have been the end of it. So far, I like how Woodruff and Adames have handled things. I wish Corbin would have just shut his mouth and waited for his inevitable payday, but that isn't what happened. Like I said earlier, I don't like him any less, he just shouldn't have said what he did. In the eyes of many, the things he said put him in a negative light, whether he deserves it or not.
  20. 2 things. 1. If you go to arbitration, both sides will be saying things to make the other side look bad. The fact the Brewers had to say things that hurt his feelings is part of the process, which he had to know going in. 2. He was out to make the Milwaukee organization look bad or he wouldn't have said what he did. Look, his feelings were hurt, so he said some things he shouldn't have said. It's really as simple as that. I don't like him any less than before all this went down, I'm just sad that probably the best pitcher we've ever had will have to be sent packing because we can't pay him. MLB is broken when it comes to even playing fields, but it is what it is.
  21. 4 games the first half of the season, right? So maybe 8 for the season? Either way, it will probably just become more and more, and again, the more difficult they make it to tune in, the more people will just stop watching. I have cable, I will not be streaming games on any other pay services, cable costs enough as it is. A nickle here, a dime there, it all adds up.
  22. Nice job, way to turn off MLB viewers by making it expensive and difficult to tune in. To be honest, this sucks.
  23. It;s far more emotional for the players than I had imagined it would be. These guys are pumped!
