  1. Yes, if trading Lauer or Houser, you'd want to get a player back like you mentioned, and one with the same number of control years left or more, but I'd settle for equal years remaining.
  2. That is a pretty ridiculous statement Homer. AB was his project. It was an extremely successful project last season, not so much this year. I don't know how he can be faulted for trying to help a guy with his mental struggles, but I suppose if you are only able to see things through the green and gold goggles... You really think Tom Brady would give a rip about his mental struggles if he couldn't catch footballs? You're going to die on that hill? Brady allowing AB to live with him, and try to point him in the right direction will have no bearing on his MVP status. Not in this world or any other one. You might be right, he may not give a rip about him personally, but a lot of sources have reported that they are/were good friends. If they weren't friends on a personal level, I doubt Brady invites him to live in his home. I can't for sure say that he would care one way or the other, but neither can you. I think you are reaching on this one.
  3. The point is the contract squabbles and fights with management like between Rodgers and the Packers front office aren't rare. They happen every offseason, with many teams. It just so happens this one played out in a public forum with the guy who just won the MVP. Not sure who is responsible for leaking the info that Schefter eventually picked up on and posted on Twitter, but typically that kind of crap happens behind closed doors. Ok, but in this case, it played out publicly. The chances of that situation weighing in on a voter's decision is possible, even if people say it isn't. Add the vax thing, and there may in fact be voters that let those two situations have an effect on their vote, based on the distraction it caused the team. Is that behavior that an MVP (Most Valuable Player) exhibits? It's up to the individual to make that determination. That's all I'm saying.
  4. Again, I think that Rodgers might get it, and I think Brady might get it, I won't be upset either way. Based on their "on field play alone" it's a toss up.
  5. The reason I don't get KT gas has nothing to do with additives or quality. I get all my gas at Meijer. I have the Meijer credit card, which takes .10 off per gallon. There is a KT directly across from the Meijer I go to. Meijer is usually a couple cents cheaper per gallon, then the 10 cents off per gallon that I get for having the Meijer credit card makes it a no brainer.
  6. I agree to a point, but when you have two guys (Brady and Rodgers) who could potentially win the award, and one has been a distraction to his team based on what he has done, or has been doing in his personal life (the vax drama, and the "I might not play this year tantrums) then I think it plays into the final decision. Does a true MVP (Most Valuable Player) act like that and put extra stress on the team for his ridiculous actions? It would be one thing if Rodgers was heads and tails above Brady in stats, leadership, etc, but that isn't the case. In fact, I don't think there is a single player in the entire NFL that provides more presence and leadership than Tom Brady. I can fully understand why a voter would take the Rodgers drama and have it be a strike against him. His childish behaviors did in fact cause distraction to the team, which in my eyes, if you have 2 guys to pick from, neither a cut above the other, then the Rodgers crap has to work against him imo Granted it was never made public like the Rodgers crap was, but if you believe that there was never any similar type drama concerning Brady and his last few years in New England, and the time that Garappolo was drafted to eventually succeed him, you are probably fooling yourself. He is likely not the saint you're making him out to be. I also think situations like that happen far more behind the scenes than most fans realize. What does any of that have to do with the 2021-22 season? The MVP is based on the current season, not things that happened years ago. right? Again, I'm just throwing out there what the voters may be thinking. I have never thought, or claimed that Tom Brady was a saint, but as far as what has been reported since his arrival in Tampa, there is no dirty laundry to be aired. None. All the Rodgers drama caused this season could easily go against him, whether Packers fans want to admit it or not. Hell, I doubt that the voters would tell you it was a factor either, but you just know that it might be a deciding factor with one or more of them when it comes right down to it.

  9. [sarcasm]Kwik Trip sells gas? They just keep adding new things![/sarcasm] Your first mistake was thinking gas was the main thing. Yeah, I stop there 4-5 times a week, and never get gas.....ever.
  10. Care to paraphrase? I'm not a member, it let me read just long enough to get my interest. lol
  11. I can't see throwing out 700 dvd cases though... I have the storage system already in place, just want to weed out the ones I don't think I'll ever want to see again. Those cases you posted would be great if you moved around a lot though...
  12. I hope you are right, looking forward to it!
  13. So you're through all the "8" movies? lol I'm into the "A" movies, all my number movies have been viewed and reviewed. Kept some, dumped some, but I'm still chugging along. It will literally be years before I get through them all, but with retirement coming in June, I'll have the time...
  14. It would be really nice to go into our season with all 6 of our starters since we know someone will get injured. That and we could possibly use a 6 man rotation anyway... That being said, if forced to trade one for a bat, I'm starting to think Lauer might be the guy I'd trade, not Houser. Will be interesting to see what happens.
  15. Thanks, but it still feels like a long ways away... I know it will go fast though, but the daily grind when you get down to that last year seems a lot harder, knowing the end is near.
  16. All I know is that I am hoping for a Packers / Bucs rematch for the NFC Championship. I hate that it would have to be at Lambeau again, but it is what it is. To be honest, I'm not sure the Bucs can get that far unless Fournette and LaVonte David can get healthy. Can't bet against TB12 / GOAT though, so we'll see what happens.
  17. I think I'm done with Marvel. Soooo many movies, tired of trying to keep up. For me, they just aren't as good as they used to be. There was a time I'd look forward to them, now with every new release I just roll my eyes and dread going. Yup, that is a sign, I'm done with them...
  18. Agreed. This break really made me long for retirement! Too bad I'm over a decade away... I am officially 95 school days away... Not that I'm bragging.
  19. Yeah, all that fawning that went on last night for Ben about made me sick. It was pretty gross. I felt like I must be the last guy on earth that remembered he was in some pretty big time trouble, and that maybe I missed something regarding his innocence.
  20. So all the hoopla over Ben R... Did he or did he not get into a lot of trouble back in the day with sexual assault allegations, etc? Was he found innocent? I just don't remember how that all worked out. Seems he has been completely forgiven by the sports media, and has now been anointed Lord of QBs...
  21. I really think that we all just need to accept the fact that Corey Ray is a big, giant, huge BUST. Every time I see his name brought up with any kind of hope attached, I cringe.
  22. Lots of people in this thread claiming to know what is going to happen... Will be fun to re-visit this thread during super bowl week when the winner is announced. Saw Chris Mortinson tonight on ESPN (man does he look and sound old), sure sounded like Rodgers was not his vote, and that Brady is, but he wouldn't say for sure until the week 18 games are played. I get it, this is a Packers board, and like I said earlier, I am partial to Brady for fandom reasons, but I don't think the Rodgers situation is cut and dried....Just because Vegas throws out some odds doesn't make it a given. Brady has been playing without his offensive stars all season long, Gronk was out more than half the season, AB out for various reasons, Fournette has been dinged up and lost for the season a couple weeks ago, Evans has sat games, and Godwin out for the season. Brady has not yet seen a full offensive roster all year, so just because Rodgers has been missing guys as well doesn't mean he is the only one having to deal with it. In the end, I think it will be close. Will the COVID situation have any effect on Rodgers votes? We shall see, but you can't 100% positively say that it won't effect some voters, and who they throw their votes to. You just can't compare MLB to the NFL when it comes to the voting and how the voters will feel unless they are all the same people casting votes, which I assume is not the case. I think Rodgers looked like an idiot during all that drama, and that might cost him some votes whether people want to admit it or not.
  23. The Bucs without Brady is quite easily a 7-10 team. Possibly even 6-11, and depending on who their QB would have been, even 5-12 is not out of the question. Their D has not been the same this year, decimated by injuries, and the offense has been forced to win games for them. Without Brady, they don't sniff .500 I think all of Rodgers, Brady and Taylor deserve it, but only one can win it, since I'm partial to the Bucs, my vote goes to Brady. Since most of you are partial to the Packers, your vote will more than likely go to Rodgers, which I am fine with. Can't lose with any of those 3 winning it. In the end, I know the Packers and Bucs would be nowhere without their current QB, period. That can't be argued. Average points per game: 1. Dallas - 29.9 2. Tampa 29.4 10. Green Bay 26.3 Take the average points per game, the 1000 more passing yards and 5 TDS more than Rodgers, and I don't see how anyone can't say Brady is in the running, if not the leader... Brady is also almost a touchdown better in average points per game on the road than Rodgers too...
  24. Going back to work after a 10 day break... This really bugs me.
