  1. The DH is already on the teams 40-man roster. Their names are Hiura, Yelich and Tellez. Don't expect a big signing all signs are pointing to the Brewers not being all that active in FA this off season. If the Brewers do add someone it will be someone who can play all over the field or a reliever and I think they will just be bringing some players back like Strickland, Norris, or Boxberger. I think Stearns knows they can't go with the same approach as last year on offense. I hope it's Hiura if there is a DH because that would mean he found his stroke again and everyone's happy. Soler would be my guess if Hiura continues to struggle. The only way I see Yelich as the regular DH is if Stearns pulls off a substancial trade for a power hitting LF, which is doubtful. I can see Yelich at the very least being a part time DH. Maybe 3 games a week. That would allow a Taylor, Cain, Renfroe OF. Of course, we know that Cain will play 80 games or less, so Yelich will probably end up playing more games in the OF then originally planned. Having a guy like Cain on the team really stresses the roster, knowing full well he will be hurt......a lot. Yelich can fall into that category as well, hopefully last year was not his new normal.
  2. Voting for T-Rats Fan's Choice bobble has started. Dillard, Frelick, Howell, Warren, and Zamora are your choices. My guess is that it will come down between Frelick and Zamora. https://www.milb.com/wisconsin/news/fans-choice-bobblehead-2022
  3. That seems pretty unfair. Do you have some sort of inside information as proof they only want to hire white guys?
  4. I go to fewer games than ever before. I still tune into every game, but going live, in person, is no longer a priority. Way too pricey, then add the 3 hour round trip drive, the inconsiderate fans who can't stay in their seats, the parking, and everything else, I'd just rather watch from the comfort of my own couch. Cheap beer, cheap snacks, no driving... I no longer feel like pro sports appreciates the fans and all the cash we spend hand over fist at their stadiums.
  5. The last time I sat down to watch linear, scripted TV was the 2009-2010 Thursday night lineup on NBC: Community Parks & Recreation The Office 30 Rock I don’t think you’ll find a better night of sitcoms in the history of television. In the 90s, NBC ran Friends & Seinfeld together and Friends & Frasier together, but never all 3 on the same night regularly. Agreed, but I never was a fan of 30 Rock. I used to watch the first 3, then turn the channel or do something else... Can't even tell you why.
  6. The franchise got what it wanted out of the arrangement. This was always going to be the result. For sure... And it was a great ride!
  7. Tampa is going to lose half their roster to free agency, which probably factored in on Brady's decision. He knew the 2022 team was going to look nothing like his past two seasons, so that had to weigh in. If the Bucs go with Gabbert or Trask, it will be a long season. Looking at maybe 3-5 wins with that schedule, knowing the roster is going to turn over. Sad day in TB...
  8. Ugh! Back to the basement for the Bucs, unless they can work a trade for a top tier QB. *wink-wink* (Not that I'd want the drama fest AR brings...)
  9. Agreed. Soooooo happy we don't have to watch the Mahomes love-fest, co-starring his attention addicted brother and fiancé. Go Bengals!
  10. Like either side really cares about the fans...
  11. Yeah, but that proves nothing, as we have seen all throughout this year's playoffs. That's why they play the games...
  12. Just freaking disgusting: Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Mets "might consider signing another significant pitcher and hitter" once the lockout ends. The Mets have already signed Max Scherzer, Starling Marte, Mark Canha, and Eduardo Escobar, pushing their payroll to the $270 million range, but they might not be done. The impact starting pitchers are mostly off the board, with Carlos Rodon possibly fitting that criteria, though there are still some interesting options on the trade front. The free agent hitter class is a bit deeper, with Kris Bryant standing out as a solid fit. There's a real chance owner Steve Cohen will push this payroll closer to $300 million by Opening Day. Of course, the lockout still needs to be settled, so this is just speculation for now. SOURCE: Jon Heyman on Twitter Jan 31, 2022, 11:21 AM ET
  13. Adversity or diversity? lol
  14. I'm sick of his hype and root against him every single time... His attention seeking brother and fiance make it that much easier... Glad he's out, and go Bengals! (or as Tony Romo says, BAngles...He pronounces it like the band The Bangles, you know, It's just another Manic Monday...) Also sick of listening to Romo blather on and on and on and on and on and on.
  15. I'm hoping that Yelich sees the bulk of our DH duties if the roster stays like it is now. Taylor, Cain and Renfro full time in the OF, Yelich DH. Yelich can then play a game or 2 in the OF per week and Have Taylor slide to CF for the Cain off days. I'd bet that Cain plays fewer than 81 games this year though, so I think we are definitely going to have to have another OFer that we can count on to get 400 at bats.
  16. So 57? Congrats, Turbo! yes, and thank you!
  17. Just started to re-watch "Community" last week. Good stuff...
  18. I turn 57 at the end of May. 1 week later, my final school year ends as I am retiring at the end of this school year.
  19. You could argue that Pete Rose was a lock as well before he gambled on his team... If Bonds gets in, Rose deserves it as well imo.
  20. Regarding Martinez, I want nothing to do with ex Cardinal pitchers, nope, no thank you. Fool me once...
  21. I'm actually pretty shocked that anyone is defending Bonds to be honest. Grade A douchebag who cheated his ass off. Doesn't belong in the hall, but everyone has opinions. I'm glad he was denied once again, and hope it stays that way.
  22. Zimmerman is done, why are we even discussing this guy? Once again, if he is the best target we can think of for DH, we are in trouble.
  23. Leftwich is not a good OC. No imagination, predictable, and basically has been on Tom Brady's coat tails the past two seasons. (Seriously, who do you think calls the majority of the offensive plays, Leftwich or Brady?) You won't find many Buccaneer fans sorry to see him go, in fact, most will celebrate his departure.
  24. Screw Bonds! Not only was he a known cheater, positive tests or not, (there was no physical way his shoe size and head grew like that into his 40's), he was also a grade A jerk to the 10th power. I have no sympathy for a POS like him not making the hall of fame. The fact that he didn't make it in his last year of eligibility absolutely made my day.
