This is how I expected this line-up to hit the entire season. I know there are off days, but I fully expected this offense to be lethal. -
We went from people saying the team quit to this in 4 days... so Pirates. Fixed that for you.

I hope this ages well, that means he has been "fine" for multiple innings. With Junior, it is a matter of time before he gets touched up.

Hiura just has to struggle through until the DH comes to the NL, hopefully in 2021.

Grisham belongs... Glad to see him having success. Looks like we have added two nice bats from our own farm to the line-up for next year. Now, what to do with Braun? Hope he spends a lot of time at 1B in the near future.

C'mon...the Supak love is a little over the top here...he has made 2...2AAA starts...in his first one he gave up 4 bombs...4!! He's a rookie, and everyone wants to throw him into the fire in the middle of a pennant race?? Even if it's for only one start...I'm NOT okay with that. Then again, had the Brewers gone out and did what they should have at the deadline and gotten a starter, this situation wouldn't be so dire. But, can we be careful with the Supak love here please?? I need to see ALOT more before I'm ready to anoint him. Besides, what would he go, 4 innings at most I'd bet?? No point in calling him up for that. Jordan Lyles (whose acquisition you hated) has matched any of the "name" guys you begged for at the deadline. Because baseball. Perhaps you need to take a step back and examine what you are complaining about. Slow down man, Lyles has looked fine so far, but there is no way his pixie dust lasts the rest of the season...

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Cubs have signed veteran catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Heyman first hinted that this move might be coming two days ago, after Lucroy was officially released by the Angels. He'll help fill in behind the plate in Chicago while Willson Contreras recovers from a hamstring strain. Victor Caratini should stay plenty active, with Taylor Davis likely heading back to Triple-A Iowa. Lucroy, 33, had batted just .242/.310/.371 over 74 games this year in Anaheim. Unless Yelich is banged up, there is no excuse, not ONE, for him being on the bench after hitting 2 homers and 4 hits last night. Why on earth does CC want to kill any momentum he or the team has? You don't bench a guy who hits two homers the next game unless they are hurt, period. Mind boggling.

Cubs just lost Contreras and Kimbrel to the IL. They are looking at Lucroy as a replacement.

Oh look, Cain comes up hurt, or is he? This guy always looks hurt on every play, even the swing of the bat causes him to go into some kind of fake injury mode. So annoying. Now, if he is actually hurt, I'll feel bad for saying that, but geez...
