  1. The Twins might be willing to part with either top prospect SS Royce Lewis or OF Alex Kirilloff in a trade for Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard. The Mets have expressed interest in both prospects in return for their former ace. It is doubtful the Twins would part with both players but chief baseball officer Derek Falvey wouldn't rule out trading one or the other to bring in a major asset. Lewis was the first overall pick of the 2017 draft. Kirilloff was the 15th overall pick of the 2016 draft. Both players are ranked in the top 20 of MLB.com's newly released mid-seaon top 100 prospects list. Source: The Athletic Jul 27, 2019, 11:56 AM ET
  2. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets are aggressively trying to trade starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard. The club has received multiple trade offers for Syndergaard. Sherman's report included quotes from rival team executives saying "They are definitely trading Syndergaard" and the Mets are "working very hard on this." Syndergaard is under team control for two more full seasons and would surely command a high price on the trade market even though he hasn't been all that good this year (7-5, 4.33 ERA in 20 starts). His track record of elite performance in prior seasons will convince other teams that they can fix him. The Mets want a back-end major league starter and multiple top prospects in return for Thor. Trade rumors have been focused primarily on the Padres, Braves and Dodgers. Sherman said the Mets are looking to move Edwin Diaz as well. Source: New York Post Jul 27, 2019, 9:34 AM ET No mention of the Brewers, which is why I expect him to be a Brewer soon...lol
  3. Syndergaard has been unimpressive the past two seasons. I like the guy, and would love to have him, but feel he is deeply over rated...
  4. Man, you were on fire until you forgot it was the Japanese, not the Germans... lol It's an Animal House reference...
  5. This is going to sound negative, and it is, but with Woodruff's injury, we are now down to 0 starting arms that we can count on. ZERO! We went from needing one starter to add to Woodruff and hope one of the others could come through. Now we would need two starters minimal for any chance at a play-off push. I think the odds are so stacked against us that it would be foolish to give up the prospects it would take to get us into that kind of shape. Woodruff's injury is devastating, absolutely devastating to this team. I have not been on the "sell" train up until now. I just can't see a way we can creep back into this with a crappy rotation AND a crappy bullpen. This really sucks.
  6. I'm a huge Nelson fan, but I'm done holding out hope. Until I see it with my own eyes that he will be able to add anything, and I mean anything, I am no longer counting on him, period. We can not keep counting him into any future plans until he proves himself again... If something positive does happen in the future, this year or next, that will be a great bonus.
  7. And what a sad thing that will be for the historically pitching cursed Milwaukee Brewers. Imagine 2017 Jimmy Nelson at the front of the rotation with 2019 Brandon Woodruff. Why can't we have nice things? I think we should let the guy start his rehab assignment and see how he does before we decide he's done. His results at the ML level this year are a pretty small sample, and no one would deny that he showed some flashes. Coming back from a huge injury is tough. I would hate for the Brewers to devote that time and energy into his rehab, only to cut him loose, and have him go to a team like the Cardinals, where he'd probably instantly turn into 2017 Jimmy. If anything, he's another potential pen arm for the stretch run that throws mid 90s with solid breaking stuff. You can do worse, as the Brewers have shown. i'm a huge Nelson fan, but I'm done holding out hope. Until I see it with my own eyes that he will be able to add anything, and I mean anything, I am done holding out hope. We can not keep counting him into any future plans until he proves himself again... If something positive does happen in the future, this year or next, that will be a great bonus.
  8. Lutz AND Turang? I'm out...
  9. At some point, I expect the Cubs to go on a big win streak...Maybe win 10 of 12 or something like that. If that happens and we continue to flounder, I can't see us making it. We have shown no ability to win a bunch of games in a short stretch of time since, well, since forever it seems... I'm just not believing that the Cubs will be held down like the first half, and I think we blew our chance for a big lead in the division by playing so pathetically while they were playing the same. Also, yes, we hope to make some moves to change our direction, but don't think the Cubs aren't thinking the same exact thing. They won't stand pat, no way, no how. They are going to make a move or two as well. I am hoping we end up in, but in my gut, I feel we are out.
  10. My confirmation came yesterday... And the winner is: TRATTS This was my order I sent in: TRATTS STLSUX WLKOFF TRATS was already taken, so I added the second T and was good to go. STLSUX just didn't sit well with me knowing the "unbaseball" fan might not get it. I considered YRDWRK for a while as well. Had a hard time passing up on S1XTO... Since I live in Appleton, and go to roughly 20 Timber rattlers games per summer, maybe more, TRATTS seemed a natural fit, especially since they are a Brewers farm team. Had they still been a part of Seattle, I wouldn't have even considered it.
  11. Imagine, seriously, just imagine our bullpen without Hader at this point in time... *shudder* We trade Hader, to me, that means we are throwing in the towel for this season, and quite possibly, the next few. I hate the fact that when we get nice things, the typical Brewer fan reaction is that we must trade them off...
  12. So, if we deal Arcia, like so many here seem to want to do, who is our SS for the remainder of this season? Are you really willing to count on Dubon or Saladino to carry that load? We know what we have in Saladino, which isn't much, and Dubon is a total mystery at this level. That is a bit scary to me. I am soooo against trading Turang and Lutz, I truly believe they are our future, along with Hiura.
  13. According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Padres inquired with the Mets recently about the availability of Noah Syndergaard. Morosi reported Tuesday night that the Brewers and Astros have both expressed interest in the 26-year-old right-hander, and now San Diego is apparently considering making a serious play. The Padres have a loaded farm system and certainly carry the chips to get a deal done, but it's going to be a high asking price and Syndergaard has been rather mediocre this season. That said, his career numbers are fantastic and he is under control through the 2021 season. The Padres tried to acquire Syndergaard from the Mets over the winter, so this new round of negotiations will come with some familiarity in expectations between the two front offices. 14. Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Brewers are among the teams showing interest in Mets starter Noah Syndergaard. Milwaukee is also known to have interest in Syndergaard's rotation mate Zack Wheeler, who seems certain to be dealt given that he is an impending free agent. Morosi writes that a trade of Syndergaard this month "is possible -- if a heavy price is paid." The 26-year-old right-hander is under club control through 2021, and the Mets probably don't want to sell low on him in a down 2019 season. Syndergaard came into the year with a 2.93 ERA and 9.9 K/9 through his first 518 1/3 major league innings but has so far stumbled to a 4.68 ERA and 8.6 K/9 in 105 2/3 frames. 15. Then we agree to disagree... I don't really care what cinemascore says, or any other publication, I thought it was not that great. It was just ok for me.
  16. The Red Sox really got burned in our trade, and I'm ok with that!!! Not that Thornburg was hurt, but that the Red Sox, as an organization got burned, to clarify... WEEI's Rob Bradford hears that Tyler Thornburg has refused an assignment to the minor leagues and is "trending toward being released." Thornburg just completed a 30-day minor league rehab assignment, but he surrendered 15 earned runs over 10 2/3 innings at Triple-A Pawtucket during that period and the Red Sox apparently have no desire to put him back on their active roster. The 30-year-old reliever had posted a 7.71 ERA in 18 2/3 innings with Boston before hitting the injured list on May 23 with a hip impingement. His release should become official in the next couple of days. Source: Rob Bradford on Twitter Jul 9, 2019, 7:48 PM ET
  17. Has anyone seen Yesterday?
  18. Spiderman Far From Home was ok... Slightly disappointing. The non-stop action CEI, tech scenes were just so long at times. My least favorite of the new Spiderman movies for sure.
  19. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Red Sox have begun preliminary discussions with the Mets involving a trade for starter Zack Wheeler. The Red Sox aren't alone in their desire to possibly obtain Wheeler, as Sherman notes that as many as 10 teams have checked in on the 29-year-old right-hander. He's coming off a rough start Sunday against the Phillies, but Wheeler has posted an excellent 130/34 K/BB ratio over his 119 total innings this season. Boston needs help in the rotation, and a guy like Wheeler would certainly represent an upgrade. Source: New York Post Jul 9, 2019, 1:26 PM ET
  20. About Stranger Things, haven't seen season 3 yet, will there be a season 4, or did they wrap things up?
  21. Nice! Glad I have that to look forward to yet. On season 6 of GoT and the hits just keep coming! lol I so missed the boat on this show all these years... What episode are you on? Season 6 is my favorite. Last two episodes of that season are probably the best television I've ever watched. Episode 9 is so well done, choreographed, filmed, tense, gut wrenching, mind blowing. When it ends you think, how could any episode ever top that? And yeah, you missed out. Theories, cliffhangers, watching each new episode a couple of times to really soak everything in before the next Sunday. General talking with friends that are also watching. But you didn't miss out on waiting for long, long stretches between seasons especially towards the end. Just finished episode 2 last night. Quite the finish to that episode. On a side note, I don't think I would have thought I'd want anyone dead as bad as I wanted King Jeffrey dead, but Ramsey has proved me wrong! I sure hope he gets his, and I hope it is slow and painful...
