  1. How much do you need the patio light in the winter? Can't you just unscrew it?
  2. Then why don't we just pay the last 2 years of his contract, get some primo prospects in return and call it a day? I myself would prefer Braun retire a Brewer, and the fact this conversation has lasted 45 pages is amazing to me. What else can possibly be discussed that hasn't already been hit on numerous times?
  3. Maybe they are giving the flag out to get rid of them, ushering in the new old logo full time?
  4. Without Selig, I would bet that the majority of this board would either be Cubs fans or possibly Braves fans, based on the fact that at one time, that was the only 2 teams you could see the majority of their games on TV. I have no ill will towards the man, I am thankful that he exists or I'd probably be wearing a Cubs cap as I type this... (wait, is that a bad thing these days, I'd have a world series win.....never mind)
  5. Yeah it was more of a hypothetical Braun "value" question than a realistic one for one idea. Personally, I'd value Buehler more than Braun, but I believe most posters here who overvalue Braun would disagree. This might be a more realistic actual offer: OF-Ryan Braun (+8.8) 2B- Scooter Gennett (0?) for OF-Yasiel Puig (+19.43) RHP-Brandon McCarthy (-20) RHP-Walker Buehler (+15.6) I would also accept this trade in a heartbeat. Brewers could flip Puig for something later and maybe even get something for McCarthy in the future by absorbing salary. Unfortuately, I think the "Dodgers interest in Braun" ship has sailed. Stop. Just stop. Because someone doesn't agree with you value of a player doesn't mean you are right and they are wrong or that they are overvaluing someone. Make your posts without being a complete jackass and then it would be great to have these discussions. Any mods around here? Some of the posting lately has been a little out of hand. We have a few posters who just can't play nicely...
  6. I have witnessed that myself, in a high school bathroom, more than once...
  7. That 2.5 million means nothing to our current salary structure. NOTHING! It isn't like that 2.5 is stopping us from making other moves. It is just plain meaningless. When you could pay a guy league minimum and save $2million, I would say that is not meaningless. but it IS meaningless due to the low salary we will be shelling out this year. If we were signing top flight free agents trying to be competitive in 2017, then that 2.5 million might mean something, but that isn't the case. Scooter's 2.5 million means nothing in the grand scheme of 2017. Zero, nadda, ZILCH.

  9. It was to soft for me. Not thrash metal not a single song on that album would be considered thrash metal. It is like they are playing lullabies and they look like they belong in a retirement home. If you think their new one is full of lullabies, I think you need to listen again. I like hard stuff, but I'm not the typical fan of thrash. I'm a metalhead, but hate the newer stuff that sounds like the Cookie Monster is on lead vocals (if you can call it vocals, it's more like guttural mumbles at loud volume...just horrible) I was a HUGE fan of St. Anger, that album is just so good, start to finish, and very different from most hard metal... Oh, and I don't think that Metallica consider themselves "thrash" metal these days... I wouldn't consider anything they have done since Master of Puppets as thrash metal, those days ended a LONG time ago,
  10. Scooter Gennett says hello...
  11. Wow, that is harsh... lol I liked it from the get go, but was not a fan of Death Magnetic...
  12. Ryan Braun - OF - Brewers Ryan Braun has decided against participating in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. Braun played for Team USA in 2009 and 2013 and is also eligible to play for Israel, but instead he'll stay with his team for spring training. There has been speculation about a possible trade for a few months now, but Brewers manager Craig Counsell recently said that he expects Braun to stick around. That could obviously change if the right offer comes along. Source: Jon Morosi on TwitterDec 14 - 11:41 AM
  13. To be honest, I didn't hear too much that I found exciting in 2016. I'l throw out a top 5. I'll be in the minority here, that will be obvious, as most seem to listen to a lot of stuff (almost all of it) that I have never even heard of... 1. Cheap Trick - Bang, Zoom, Crazy.....Hello 2. Operation Mindcrime - Resurrection 3. Metallica - Hardwired for Destruction 4. Sixx A.M. - Prayers for the Damned 5. Pretty Reckless - Who You Selling For Honorable Mention: Sixx A.M. - Prayers for the Blessed
  14. Appleton Public Schools Stereotypes: Appleton West is the worst school according to people I know with experience there, via their own kids, or teachers who teach there. It is more of the inner city attitude, and there are more poor families that attend there due to it's location in the city. Obviously this also means that the school is the least safe of the 3, however, I don't know anyone who says it is not a safe school. Appleton East is the mid range school, probably the most middle class of the three. Appleton North, by far, and not even close, the best of the three. It serves mostly the kids in the suburbs of Appleton and the new housing developments/suburbs on the North side of Appleton. I have had 2 kids go through there, and their sports, theater, music programs are second to none in Appleton. They have the fewest discipline issues, least "gang" activity (if that is what it is still called these days), etc... I'm not 100% certain of the elementary schools that serve North, but I know that Huntley is one of them. Einstein is their middle school, which like the high school has the best opportunities to not be involved in the inner city crap. If I were going to make a choice based on school districts, NORTH is the one to pick, and it isn't even close. If sports is your thing, Kimberly is the place to go outside of Appleton, however, when a school is known for being very competitive in their sports programs, it is also harder to crack the starting line-ups on teams, if you are a below average athlete, sports will take a back seat because if you aren't the cream of the crop, there will be no place athletically for your kids. I know parents who have had kids that are athletes, and those who have kids who are not athletes. Even those who have athletic kids that have participated on those teams say that the stress related to competing in that district can be pretty severe. I guess it depends on your views on high school sports...
  15. As far as bobble likeness goes, I think all 3 are pretty decent...
  16. I'd rather hang onto Scooter than have Eithier on this team. We have the possibility of to many OFers trying to find playing time as it is, no need to muddy those waters with a guy that is 100% not going to be part of the future. That would be a horrible trade. I don't want to make trades just so the roster looks different.
  17. Those are the only 3 that they released actual pictures of...

  21. They only have actual bobble pics of the first 3, including Griep. I'll try and get the pic here, but it is such a pain to post pics on this site compared to facebook... I shall return.
  22. um, ok... Still against the rules, and his next offense is 100 games, possibly a lifetime ban for his 4th offense, not sure. I find that very concerning. Seems like at this point in his career, especially with a prior conviction, the kid should have his priorities in order, and doing anything he can to advance his career. Either he is addicted, or he is an idiot.
