  1. Fielder, maybe, had he stayed a Brewer. Lucroy, possibly, but again, I don't think he has the connection, and wasn't here long enough to consider him more beloved than Ryan Braun. Yuni? That was surely supposed to be in blue. Hart over Braun? please. TPush, again, wasn't here long enough to consider, in fact, I think a lot of fans feel he wore out his welcome after his "act" was overplayed. I mentioned Sabathia, but once again, not here long enough to overtake Braun. Sexson and Burnitz, though they were popular, they aren't in the same league of popularity that Braun is and was... They played for horrible Brewer teams, we had no one else to like...lol You gave examples of players that fans really loved, you could include another 10 guys on that list as well, but none of them are in Braun's league. Out of all the players since Yount, who has sold the most jerseys, and which jerseys do you still see the most often at Miller Park? Possibly Lucroy, but Braun jerseys are just everywhere, all the time. As far as fan's reaction to his "possible" last AB in Miller Park, the casual fan has no idea of the distinct possibility that that might be his last AB, had everyone known for 100% positive he was gone, that AB would have sounded a lot different. Putting that much stock into his "possible" last at bat is reaching...
  2. Last weekend for Brewer baseball until spring... Go CREW!
  3. It would be unwise to trade the face of our franchise, the most beloved player since Robin Yount, for two guys who you hope Stearns can flip. The flip talk drives me crazy. It isn't as easy as most think to "flip" other players. I hope Braun stays a Brewer, but is seems to me like we are going to have that idiot Puig on our opening day roster one way or another. Wait, Braun is the most beloved player since Yount? Not even close. Even if that was true, has nothing to do with building a perennial contender. Not even close? Seriously? Who would it be then? Lucroy? He's gone... Sabathia is probably up there, but Braun has been a fan favorite since he became a Brewer, PED scandal and all. If not Braun, who would it be?

  5. clap-clap-clap! Great post and totally nothing but true... Thanks!
  6. We used Feldco once, but it was a storm door installation. They did nice work, and I didn't take the time to get multiple quotes beforehand which was a mistake because they were really expensive.
  7. I just can't see anyone wanting to trade anything of value for Garza. If he has a first half next year, like his second half this year, we might be able to scrounge something up, otherwise, I think we are stuck with him. I don't have high hopes for Jungman or Suter to be honest. I would not include them in the rotation to start the year. Whn talking about starting pitching, I'd love to get something in value for Anderson, but again, I just don't see a market for his type. If we traded Nelson, we wouldn't get much at this point, he needs to pitch himself back into some value. Below is what I see as our starting rotation on opening day. SP Zach Davies SP Junior Guerra SP Wily Peralta SP Jimmy Nelson SP Matt Garza / Chase Anderson That is not a very sexy rotation, the chances all 5 working out are slim, but my hope is that Davies continues what he started in 2016, Wily has everything figured out, Garza pitches himself into a trading commodity, and Anderson does the same. I hope that Guerra is not a flash in the pan type guy, and he repeats 2016. Jimmy is the wild card here in my eyes. I have lost a lot of faith in him, but maybe he can find it again and surprise me. I am not a fan of trading Braun unless the haul we bring back is immense! I mean hugely immense!!! Trading for a guy like Puig makes zero sense. Bringing his cancerous attitude into a clubhouse full of young developing players could be a giant mistake. I'd take Braun over him any and every time! Let Braun retire a Brewer, and maybe consider a position change to 1B in 2018. Like it or not, teams are going to think they can get Braun for below market value based on his past, but to me, his past is long gone. The guy is a Brewer, and I want nothing more than to have him stay that way... Starting regulars: C Susac 1B Chris Carter 2B Jonathan Villar SS Orlando Arcia 3B Hernan Perez LF Ryan Braun CF Keon Broxton RF Domingo Santana There are a lot of guys in that line-up that can move around, allowing Scooter a lot of at bats against right handed pitchers. Scooter plays 2nd, Villar moves to 3B to spell Perez, or in that situation, Perez moves to the OF to spell Braun or Santana. Lots of flexibility when you have guys like Perez and Villar. Unlike a lot of people, I think Perez has played himself into an everyday position at 3B. He has earned it, let the guy see if he can stick as a regular at that position. I think if that line-up stays healthy, we could be sniffing .500 as mentioned above. There is a chance that if we added a frontline starter already in 2016, playoffs are as ridiculous as some may think. If Davies, Guerra, and Wily pan out, that is a pretty god top 3.
  8. I found that to be really funny for some reason, just the sound of it...
  9. Yes. In fact racking my brain for who #2 would even be. Would have been Peralta, but he has turned things around. Jimmy maybe should have had a stint in the minors too...
  10. Ughhhh! That is false, please, if you are going to comment, get your facts straight. Ok, this is the last time I comment, I promise...
  11. Knock it off already. You are not speaking from experience, you are speaking from ignorance. I will no longer be commenting on the subject, for fear of this getting out of hand...
  12. I'm pretty sure that Erickson likes it where he is, and has had chances to move up in the past...
  13. I remember Lymon Bostock being shot in the back of a car/limo as a kid... That was tragic as well.
  14. Same here. I'm up to six in Person. so you saw every triple play the brewers ever had at home?
  15. I disagree with part of what you are saying, and agree with a small portion. Lack of pay is part of the reason for a shortage, sure, but you can bet the conditions in education and what teaching entails these days will for a fact have a large part in the shortage that is inevitable. Benefits are becoming nothing special, which used to be the saving grace for people wanting to enter a profession for far less pay than the average college graduate. So many people seem to have an ax to grind against teachers, which used to be a pretty noble profession. Now it seems to be a profession for suckers who enjoy being made into villains on a daily basis by the media, parents, and politicians. Very similar to law enforcement, another profession I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole now-a-days.
  16. *sigh*
  17. That is a bit condescending, isn't it?
  18. There isn't a teacher shortage currently, the effects of the state of education and people wanting to enter the profession won't be completely realized until 5-8 years out. That is when we will feel it, and be forced to hire anyone who applies to fill the vacancies... Believe it or not, that is up to you, but it's coming...
  19. No one is asking anyone to feel sorry for teachers, that is a silly notion. I don't care about other professions, I'm talking about the teaching profession. There IS going to be a teacher shortage, it is coming. Believe it or not, it is coming. You know several kids who graduated recently who can't find a teaching job? Of course, but in the near future, jobs will be there, but applicants will not. No offense, but who on earth wants to teach in MPS? That is probably one of, if not the least desirable district to teach in... Oh, and by the way, teachers do have summers off, but that is not contracted time, so those summer vacations that so many covet are unpaid. Great benefits? You must be talking about pre act 10, those great benefits that you speak of are dwindling by the year, and there is nothing that teachers can do about it. Just another reason there are fewer and fewer young people going into teaching. I don't blame them, I would never enter the profession in the current atmosphere. NEVER!
  20. Ok, then I'll change my wording, and I didn't expect anyone not in the profession to agree with what I said... It's the nature of the beast.
  21. Also not trying to get political, but when Act 10 was institued, the entire teaching profession was turned on it's ear, and not in a good way. The stuff that is mandated, the extra work, meetings, evaluation process (someone in education couldn't possibly understand the rigors this brings on, and on top of all the other responsibilities), PLCs, SLOs, PPG's, ACP, BYOC, and countless other acronyms makes the profession a giant cesspool of exhaustion. The pay cuts, loss of insurance in a lot of cases, etc., etc., make this a profession to stay far away from in the future and has destroyed morale statewide, in all districts. We are headed for a teacher shortage, and it is already being felt in colleges and universities as fewer and fewer young people want to become teachers, and for plenty of good reason. What then? We are going to be forced to hire anyone with a pulse to teach, and that is going to be the norm in the not so distant future. The profession has become vilified, labeled as union thugs who just want more money, blah, blah, blah. On top of all that there is a movement to hold teachers accountable for everything in their student's lives, dismissing personal accountability and of course, parental accountability. In an attempt to "clean up" the profession and make teachers more accountable, what is going to happen is that people will not become teachers, and in turn, we will have to hire the bottom of the barrel instead of making the current teachers accountable and better teachers... The current plan in place is killing education in this state, plain and simple. If you know any teachers, thank them for their efforts, the profession is not anywhere near what it was a decade ago, and for that matter 6 years ago. It's a thankless profession, and the hits just keep on coming...
  22. Exactly my point. Yep, Davey Nelson still has a job and he's the worst speaker (aside from Rickie Weeks) I've heard that has a regular gig in front of a camera. Shannon Sharpe says Hello... At least I think that is what he said, I can never understand that guy...
