  1. You are talking about an entire different generation of parenting though. Today's parents might not even notice as they have their faces buried in their phones...
  2. $25 to go to the party? That seems ridiculous.
  3. If Carter was such a good trade piece, why wasn't he flipped in previous years? I'm not against this signing, I just don't think he is such a valuable trade piece, or he would have been traded before we got a chance to get him for nothing... I think the odds of anyone giving us anything of value in return are slim to none. He is just a warm body to play a position that we had no one else to play, relatively cheap, with enough power to every once in a while make the fans oooh and ahhh.
  4. I wouldn't do that, no way, no how... Davis is far more valuable than a catcher with his ability. I think some of us are under-valuing Davis, hopefully, Stearns does not.
  5. I miss the healthy version of Ben Sheets.
  6. I am assuming you meant "Juan Nieves no hotter bobble? lol Juan Neives deserves a no hitter bobblehead, more than any other Brewer in our history. We have one no hitter, only one!
  7. This. Unless a combination of Braun, Lucroy and Davis get traded away, I can't see our current line-up being that much worse than last season. (We'll miss Lind for sure) Our starting pitching is almost the same minus Lohse. He was horrible last season, so losing him isn't much of a loss at all. If Nelson and Peralta take a step up, our pitching might be a lot better than last year. I don't see a 100 loss season unless there is some more shake-up coming with our starting line-up.
  8. I'm just glad we have enough talent at at least one position to have a logjam of talent. That has not always been the case in Milwaukee.
  9. Seeing him as a Cardinal, in any way, would bother me... He probably has a little more sentimental value for me because I saw just about every start he had in his time in Appleton. Met him a couple of times, and he is a super nice kid. I can't be the only person on this board who would hate seeing ex Brewer prospects play for the Cardinals...
  10. I thought it would be pretty obvious what my point was, but maybe not so much after all. It would bother me to see former Brewer property, highly regarded Brewer property, pitching for the Cardinals (the team I hate the most in any sport) against the Brewers. Any success he has against the Brewers would hurt, since he was a guy I was looking forward to seeing as a Brewer some day.
  11. Yup, I saw that... Jason thought he wouldn't get one since he got traded... lol
  12. I don't see how it really matters. He was once Brewer property, is a pretty darned good pitcher, and he is possibly on the trading block. My original intent was saying how much it will bother me if we have to face the guy in a Cardinals uniform, but I then got sidetracked into the possibility of getting him back in a Brewers uniform.
  13. I saw that, but I can't imagine anyone paying that much when the piece of the bat is actually missing... If it was a crack, or the piece was there to be glued back on, then I could see it, but in that condition, they might have a hard time selling it.
  14. In fact, since he is possibly tradeable in the Rays eyes, what would it take for the Brewers to get him back?
  15. Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports that the Cardinals have been active in talks with the Rays about acquiring a starting pitcher. The Rays have been shopping several of their starters around, so it's unclear at the moment who the Cardinals are inquiring about. Jake Odorizzi is from the St. Louis area and would make a lot of sense for the Cardinals, and had been talked about in previous trade discussions with the Dodgers. Drew Smyly, Matt Moore and Erasmo Ramirez would also be possibilities as the Cardinals strive to replace the hole in their rotation created by the departure of John Lackey and injury to Lance Lynn. 16. Thanks for contributing nodakfan17! I miss the days when this board was hoping with activity.
  17. I really like #1, 5, 8, and 10. I really hate #4 and 9. Don't get me started on another Hank the Dog bobblehead. Ugh. Another Timber Rattlers David Ortiz is just plain over kill at this point. Never was Brewer property, and it feels like they are reaching to do another one of him. This is his 4th as a T-Rat. Boooo. Erickson in his high school uniform since he is local is kind of neat. Cory Chisel won't mean much to most people outside of the Fox Valley, but the guy is responsible for the Mile of Music in Appleton every summer, and it's a great time, so I'm ok with this one. Not sure we need yet another Khris Davis, but he is wearing the Military salute uniform, so that is kind of cool. Still, his 3rd bobble as a T-Rat... I really hope they have some good options for the Fan's choice. I would like to see them do a full sized Victor Roache since he tied the T-Rats Home Run record, and both guys he is tied with have their own bobbles already so it only seems right. (Coulter and Davis) My number one choice for a bobble this season would to have had a Home Run Record Triple bobble of Davis, Coulter and Roache. That would have been absolutely awesome!
  18. 1. 4/09/16 Fang and Whiffer Dual 2. 4/17/16 Matt Erickson in Appleton West uniform 3. 4/30/16 Jason Rogers 4. 5/15/16 Fang and Hank the Dog Dual 5. 6/09/16 Jake Gatewood 6. 6/26/16 Cory Chisel 7. 6/30/16 Khris Davis 8. 7/24/16 Orlando Arcia 9. 8/05/16 David Ortiz 500th Home Run 10. 8/22/16 Monte Harrison 11. 9/01/16 Fan's Choice *I wonder if they will substitute another option for the Jason Rogers??? Odds are, it might even be in production already since it is an early in the season game.
  19. The real question is, will the Timber Rattlers still be giving out a Jason Rogers bobblehead this summer?
  20. 1,993,053 No big moves (name player additions) to the casual fan in the off season = poor attendance. If Lucroy goes, I think this could dip even farther... The only players the casual fans will know are Braun and Lucroy, if either go, there will be attendance issues.
  21. When will they be announcing the special event bobbles? Anyone remember when they did so in the past? I'm assuming there will be the annual stitch-n-pitch, as well as a star wars bobble. (I'd like to see Bernie in Star Wars form myself) Might they stick with the Major League Movie theme and do a Vuckovich as Yankee slugger Clu Haywood?
  22. Related, but not exactly on topic, does anyone own, or have ever seen a 2008 Wild Card shot glass? I've always been looking for one, but to be honest, I can't say for certain that any were even produced...
  23. Any good deals or stories from this year?
  24. Puig seems so over rated to me. I don't like his attitude, and I don't believe he is nearly as impressive as he thinks he is. I don't think he is the kind of guy to throw into the mix of a young rebuilding team (due to his prima donna attitude and showoffmanship), especially if we'd have to pay market value for him. I'd pass.
  25. What, no $10 Bill Hall Tracksuit bobbleheads? *sigh*
