  1. Same thing with OF. What do we really know about his OF ability?
  2. I think we need to commit to letting him get regular at bats for at least a solid month before giving up on the kid. Not - playing him for a game, then sitting him for 3 games, then pinch hitting him the next game, then sitting him for 2, then starting him, etc... Regular, daily at bats for at the very least a solid month. Even a month just isn't enough. Look how long it took Chourio to get going. (NO, I am not comparing Black's talent to Chourio)
  3. meh... I'd do it, but it wouldn't excite me. I truly think Baty never lives up to expectation, probably the same with EBJ, so to me, this is a total wash trade. Just a flyer.
  4. The jerseys look like they are made of rubber...
  5. He was just cut by Miami, was a pretty highly rated prospect at one point if I remember correctly. Worth taking a flyer on this guy imo. He has also played some SS and OF. Turang goes to SS, Ortiz stays at 3B.
  6. An arm we may need at some point for a washed up prospect? Nope, that deal wouldn't be made if I was the GM, nope, no. It just isn't turboriffic enough for me. :)
  7. Then I'd pass.....HARD! Baty is buried in NY, sooner or later, they might just have to dump him all together. I would NOT give them anything of value to be honest. Maybe a couple lottery tickets, but I have no faith in the kid to be what we need.
  8. If we didn't have Hoskins, this seems like a deal we could have handled... Ari Alexander of KPRC in Houston reports that the Astros are signing Christian Walker to a three-year, $60 million contract. Ken Rosenthal and Chandler Rome of The Athletic reported that the deal was close earlier Friday, and now it appears to be wrapped up, pending a physical. Walker has spent his entire career with the Diamondbacks, and the 33-year-old hit 26 homers with an .803 OPS in 2024 with Arizona over 130 games. He’ll hit in the middle of the order for Houston, and even with no Kyle Tucker, there should be solid opportunities for run production in the Astros’ lineup.
  9. No interest in trading Quero for a one year rental, NONE AT ALL!
  10. I'm more surprised that anyone watches at all. The NBA product is tired imo.
  11. Popping a bag of popcorn so I can sit and read the responses...
  12. There has to be at bats for Contreras when he is at DH too. It will work itself out, always does.
  13. I think EMJ is going to make his debut this season at some point. Love this guy!
  14. To put him that high, who are you bumping? I just don't think he is a top 10, looking at the list, I'd probably put him at 20.
  15. Civale stabilizes our rotation, I think it makes no sense for so many to think he his now expendable just because we got Cortes. We still have to field a dependable rotation, right now isn't the time to start dealing it away with so many question marks surrounding Woodruff.
  16. Even with Willy we were lacking power, now you take away our biggest power source, add a guy (Durbin) who doesn't hit for power, and it's pretty obvious we will be deficient in the power catagory.
  17. Can't Buy Me Love(1987) - Classic 80's teen movie! Keeper Can't Hardly Wait(1998) - 90's teen movie pretty much copying the 80's teen movies... Still a funny watch. keeper Carny(1980) - A VERY young Jodie Foster. Decent movie all the way through, then the ending hits, and you are left feeling cheated. Goner
  18. We'll see how worried we are in June, when this board is going off about our lack of power, and that we did nothing to fix it. (assuming we stand pat) You can throw all the steamer, projections, and predicted stats out there that you want, but we'll feel what it's like to have no power once the season starts, and THAT is when we will be worried. Problem is, at that point, it's too late. Hell, even last year, when we had Adames and Yelich hitting, it felt like our line-up just didn't have the power needed to get us on that next level.
  19. ...that can stay on the field. This guy would be an IMMENSE risk, especially for that kind of money.
  20. So they must have another plan to replace him? We already don't have enough power, they have something on the horizon we don't know about yet? He's going to have a rebound year I'm thinking, so replacing him and Adames in the power category will be pretty difficult unless they have something going on.
