  1. Please explain. He hasn't been an option at 3B for quite some time, or anyplace in the IF for that matter. Where does his opportunity open up? Lockridge? Yes, let's make an effort to get his bat into the line-up too...
  2. Paredes is NOT a good 3B and would not fit our mold very well. I am in total shock at this trade. Need to sit back and evaluate before I go one way or the other... The way it looks at this moment, we are going to have Ortiz and his lack of offense pegged for an offensive position, on a team that already lacks offensive pop. It was bad enough having his bat at SS, but now at 3B? There just has to be something else on the horizon, right?
  3. DVD Purge: The Curious Case of Benamin Button - I remember seeing this back in the day and not really liking it that much... After watching again, I have changed my mind, thought it was kind of fascinating at times, even though there are a few holes in the plot, I can overlook them - Keeper ^^^The last C movie! ^^^ Days of Thunder - Always really liked this one, and I'm not a fan of Nascar - Keeper Deadfall - Thought this was pretty good. - Keeper Dead Poets Society - I've always thought that Robin Williams' work when he wasn't a zany weirdo, was far better than his over the top comedic stuff. This is just a good movie. - Keeper The Dead Zone - Though I'm usually not a fan of Stephen King movies, probably because I have always read the books before the movies come out, this one I've always liked! - Keeper The Dilemma - I enjoyed this one, and really had no memory of watching it previously. Kept my interest and worth seeing again imo - Keeper Girl on the Train - Meh. Sometimes pretty confusing, I'm sure the book does a better job. Nothing I need to see again. Goner
  4. Honestly, I think it's all up to Vaughn. If he has a good solid year, we are probably ok. If he tanks (and that is a complete possibility) and we have to rely on Bauers more than a platoon situation, we are in deep trouble. Personally, I hate the idea of Bauers as a starter in any regard, I simply don't think he is an answer. Andrew Vaughn or bust!
  5. I do, and as of right now, we do not have any 1B that can step in on opening day and make an impact. Adams, Burke, Fischer, etc are not ready, but hopefully one of them can be ready to go in 2027, er, ummmm, 2028 if we don't play in 2027...
  6. The Cubs will surely have something to say about that. If they want to spend, they will, and they can...
  7. Just another nail in the coffin...
  8. It seems simple to me. Suarez would have out homered Durbin. Durbin would be better at everything else...
  9. "Send Help" was great!
  10. I realize I didn't actually watch for free, nothing is free, I meant it was part of my package with no extra costs for streaming an outside service.
  11. This is not a good thing for us cable, TDS, etc, subscribers, who will now probably have to pay for a streaming service, rather than watching it free with our cable subscriptions. I think this sucks if I have to pay a dime more for my TV package, to get something I've watched for free the past decade+.
  12. Finally got around to seeing season 2 of 1923... Another good addition to the Yellowstone franchise!
  13. Propaganda? You mean that it's one of the few shows that show the opposite type of propaganda that 99% of other tv shows show? I find it refreshing... Their use of propaganda is quite minimal in the grand scheme of things, and what do you expect anyway from a show about oil, and the people who work in oil, and the people who sell it? Highly doubt you are going to see a lot of liberal viewpoints from that lifestyle.
  14. If these idiots keep picking the Cubs, at some point, they will get it right, even if it is a 1 out of 10, they can claim victory. Idiots.
  15. I've had a hard time finding anything that I'm interested in seeing in the theaters recently. I got a free ticket through my Fandango account to Dracula next week. I doubt I would have gone to see it if it wasn't free. Also plan to see "Send Help" sometime soon. Getting really good reviews, and looks pretty good.
  16. With all the infielders coming in the pipeline, I'm not so sure Turang is going to be a big priority. We have control over him until 2030, by then, we'll know which of our infielders are going to stick. I think it's more likely he becomes trade fodder by the 2029 season, than the chance of us resigning him...
  17. DVD Purge: Civil War - Really like this one... Happy they didn't politically lecture us in either direction. Keeper Cruella - Out of character for my tastes, but I love this movie! Keeper Dan in Real Life - Decent Rom Com, but just decent, not keeper worthy. Goner Dark Half - Decent Stephen King adaptation, but no need to see it again. Goner Dark Shadows - Boring and bad. Had never seen this one before, still had the plastic wrapping on it. Goner Men in Black - meh. Goner Men in Black II - Hard to even sit through. Goner
  18. Please excuse my ignorance, but how can someone from Bermuda play for Canada?
  19. It feels kind of like we are reaching the point of finding out just what we have in Wilken. I know his face injury really threw his trajectory for a loop, but at that point, it was feeling like he was on the brink of contributing with the big club. After all this time has passed, I'm hoping they take a really close look in ST to see exactly what we have. Will he get some kind of shot in 2026? If not, when?
  20. Brewers signed C Reese McGuire to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
  21. The Brewers had been eyeing McGuire as a backup for William Contreras, and he may still win that job, but the team has not committed an MLB contract to him as of yet. The 30-year-old hit .226/.245/.444 in 140 plate appearances for the Cubs last season but continued to post positive framing grades behind the plate, which we know the Brewers value.
  22. I'd trade him for a legit bat at 3B or OF, other than that, for his price, it makes sense to hold on to him. The injury bothers me though...
  23. It will be interesting to see how it does in the US. I wouldn't expect democrats to be lining up outside the theater, but I'd think it would do pretty well with republican women...
