Well, I don't know who has the extras, so this guy getting 3 of them doesn't really tell me anything. I hear ya Brain, I just get a little bitter about this particular bobble given the shady history of this seller in the past. This one may not be schilled, but I am pretty sure that a couple of his previous ones were.

Just being greedy. If he has 3 of them, that is 2 others who want one who don't have them. I thought the same thing, why on earth would you want 3 of them, at those prices? I can see if one fell in your lap for cheap, but paying $400 for a 3rd one is ridiculous. The entire situation is still fishy. The same seller has sold what, 4 or 5 of them now, and each time the bidding has been suspect in some way.

Coulter has plenty of time to learn the catcher position, unless they make the decision to move him, which could happen. Segura supposedly wasn't going to stick at SS, look how that has turned out.

If Morris is a year or two away, he is probably still a lot better than the slop we have ran out there at 1B all season. I just see no reason not to let the kid play, especially in a lost season, where we just can't even begin to compete for a playoff spot. This is the perfect time to let young guys see what they can handle. Of course, this decision should have been made in the beginning of May, when Gonzalez, Yuni, or any one of the other first basemen we threw out there were failing miserably. Here we are, 2 months later (3 months from opening day) without a regular 1B. This position has infuriated me all season long, and goes down as a huge failure on the part of Doug Melvin.

Same guy who has been selling them in the past. Pretty fishy though, since the same guy has bid it up in $5 increments at a time, even when no one was bidding against him. Trying to make it look like there are a ton of people bidding on it perhaps??? I went up to $275, and within minutes, he outbids me every time. I knew I wouldn't get it for the $275 anyway, just testing him, and sure enough, there he is to outbid me. I'm out. This has to be schill bidding at it's finest, which is what happens every time this guy lists one of these for sale. Check it out for yourself. I don't think it hurts to post this here since I doubt anyone here will be able to win it unless you are willing to pay the price that the schiller wants you to pay. What a freaking joke this is. I'd like to add that a smart GM, even a kind of smart GM would never have entered this season without a single 1B on the roster. RRR is a Doofus. -

Agreed! I have always been a Rickie fan (even though I was hard on him earlier in the season), glad he seems to have figured some things out. I think he deserves some more playing time at this point though. Not sure that a straight platoon is the best thing for him. Hard on him is one way to put it. If I was Weeks I wouldn't have opened any mail sent from you, and I would have hired someone to taste my food. There were a lot of others that were a lot worse than me, in fact, I don't think I even ranked in the top 10 of Rickie haters. RRR, now that is a different story...

Actually, and I am not going to do the legwork it would take to dig it up, and I don't want to officially call anyone out either, but there were some pretty regular posters on this board saying he won't stick as a SS. You know how people blow smoke around here, and the things being said were as if they "knew" he couldn't stick at that position. Just find it odd that none of those people are saying anything about it now... Not that I would expect anyone to admit it since he is nothing short of a star at that position now, offensively and defensively...

It's easy to make a comment like that after the fact. I don't think anyone, including the coaching staff expected 4 2/3 innings from him today. I think what he meant was that we were starting a RP that hasn't pitched more than one inning since the start of June. How could that provide anyone with hope. Hindsight is always 20/20. Would you have made that same comment had he gone 1 1/3 and given up 6 runs?

Seriously? We honestly don't have any better options in the minors? Say a starting pitcher for example? If that is the case, this team is being ran even worse than I had expected. Geeeesh. Donovan Hand will start for the Brewers on Saturday against the Braves. Hand has only been used as a reliever this season both in the minors and majors, and he has throw more than an inning since early June, so it will be a bullpen start for the Brew Crew. He holds a 3.38 ERA and 9/2 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 relief innings this season. Source: Mike Vassallo on Twitter

Based on past performance, when have you ever seen Doug Melvin begging for a younger team? I think it is the opposite. Melvin is part of the problem here, I don't know how much input Attanasio is forcing on Melvin, and no one knows for sure, it's all speculation and nothing more. Until I hear Melvin come out and say it, I don't believe that is how he feels.

The weird thing is, now that Weeks is hitting again, he continues to be platooned with Scooter... RRR always throws in a wrinkle that leaves me shaking my head. He does almost everything the opposite of what I would do. Yes, I get the righty vs lefty platoon reasoning, but with the way Weeks is hitting, why not give him some regular playing time to see if he is out of his funk? Meh, doesn't really matter I guess. Might as well let Scooter continue to get his at bats.

Just the Astos? The same Astros that beat us 10 - 1 a couple days ago? I just don't feel we are good enough to say "just the Astros" or "just the Marlins" etc. Until we can hang with the big boys, you have to believe that most teams we are playing are saying "just the Brewers...."
