  1. He got hurt man! How does that translate into screwing it up? Gamel is a bigger disappoinment than our bullpen? Ummmmm-k.
  2. agreed! I never understand whenever an ex-brewer turns up available (no matter who it is), there is a thread that follows with people actually wanting to bring them back...
  3. Only if he goes all 9 innings... Once he turns it over to the bullpen, all bets are off.
  4. Once you remove the black hole at SS, things start to look a lot better.
  5. If Segura is any kind of a hitter, that line-up is looking pretty solid. Sub out Lucroy at Catcher, and that line-up is far better than average in my opinion. If we kept that line-up in tact for next year, added a starter and a bullpen, I think we will in fact be competitive in 2013. Our future isn't all doom and gloom.
  6. More cowbell anyone? Also REALLY enjoy Mike Myers playing the hyper hypo boy with Nicole Kidman as his playground friend.
  7. My only hope is that the youngster gets to play just about every day from here on out. If we called him up to get 3 or 4 at bats a week, and 2 or 3 innings in the field, this is an asinine move. Hate to say it, and I hope I am wrong, but I wouldn't doubt for one second that he has been called up to be Ransom's backup.
  8. Unless you don't mind striking out nearly half of his at bats...
  9. From Rotoworld: The Nationals have acquired Cesar Izturis from the Brewers, according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post. Washington desperately needed to fortify its infield depth, especially with Mark DeRosa (groin) once again fighting injuries. The 32-year-old Izturis provides zero with the bat (.235/.248/.333 this season) but is skilled and versatile with the leather. Of more fantasy interest: Milwaukee may have jettisoned Izturis to open up playing time for top prospect Jean Segura, a top prospect acquired from the Angels in the Zack Greinke trade. 10. NO! From rotoworld.com: Royals designated INF Yuniesky Betancourt for assignment. For some reason, Kansas City handed Yuni a one-year contract worth $2 million over the winter. We aren't sure if another team would have gone above a minor-league deal. The 30-year-old native of Cuba has never finished a season with an on-base percentage above .310 (.260 this year), nor an OPS better than .725 (.668), and his defense was so awful at shortstop that the Royals only played him one game at the position this year. He keeps getting opportunities, but odds are that he's signed his last major league contract.
  11. That may be the going rate for a GOOD setup man, but we are not talking about a GOOD setup man in K-Rod. No way should he be brought back, for any price.
  12. No doubt, if this lost season provides Fiers and Rogers as future top to mid rotation guys because they got the chance, it wasn't so lost after all...
  13. K-Rod at 4 million next year? No thanks, the guy seems to be straight out done. I never want to see him in a Brewers uniform again after this season.
  14. Still waiting on a few who might be ordering the bobble. We are currently short, so if anyone else wants in, now is the time.
  15. Did a little research on what the Nashville bobbles have sold for on ebay up until August 3rd. So Far: Corey Hart has sold 17 times. Average cost including shipping is $51.45 -Most expensive was $65.90 -Cheapest was $40.05 Richard Sterban has sold 21 times. Average cost has been $40.21 -Most expensive was $65.90 -Cheapest was $28.50 Paintable Ozzie has only sold 2 times. Average cost $36.69. -Most expensive was $41.90 -Cheapest was $31.48 Add the average of all 3 up, and you have $128.35 , which is only $3.35 more than those of us who bought the package deal. Add up the cheapest one of all 3 and you have a total of $100.03. If you are lucky enough to have won all 3 of the cheapest, you saved $24.97. GOOD FOR YOU! I'm still happy I secured all 3 from the same seller, who shipped them all together in one box. Less chance of breakage from shipping than 3 seperate packages, less chance from problems with 3 different sellers, and it was just nice knowing I didn't have to compete with ebay prices, and trying to find the best deal when I know I wouldn't have the patience to wait months to get the best prices I could find. Will the prices go up or down in the end, I guess we will find out. Still glad I made the choice I did.
  16. too much baggage for ateam like to Brewers to even consider. put that money into a frontline starter, if not 2013, then save it for 2014. I want no part of Hamilton and his issues.
  17. Copy man... Making some copies...
  18. I feel the same. I just can't root against them. The draft pick will be what it is when the season ends. When the Brewers win, I feel good, when they lose, I feel bad. I would rather feel good than bad. GO BREWERS!
  19. Why would AZ trade 2 studs that are close to major league ready for Gallardo? Makes no sense unless they still believe they have a shot at a playoff spot. They are 6 games back for a wildcard spot right now. Do they view Gallardo as the guy who can push them into the playoffs? I just don't buy this story at all.
  20. He "boned" himself right of a shot at closing for someone else next year as well. Probably "boned" himself out of big money again too.
  21. ...and yet again. Narveson will not be competing for a starting rotation spot next year folks... Long relief will be the only way he helps us, and even that possibility is remote given his age and the severity of his injuries/surgery. Stop stating things as facts if they are not. Even if there is a 99% probability that Narveson isn't back, that still isn't a fact that he will miss all year, at least until stated otherwise. Sure he probably won't be competing for a spot in ST but he got hurt early enough this year that there is a possibility he's back early enough. It just gets tiring seeing his name come up in all the 2013 possible rotation posts. If you'd like to police all posts on these boards and eliminate all the ones that are not fact, but just a bunch of people acting like what they say is fact and stating opinions, you are going to be a very busy man. Good luck with that. It is my opinion that Narveson will not be competing for a job in our starting rotation next year, at any point during the season. I'm sorry I didn't preface my posts with the "my opinion" statement. I assumed that opinions were implied in most threads since most of us do not work for the organization.
  22. 2 for 4 with a Double and a stolen base. Looking forward to seeing him start at SS in 2013 I'm looking forward to seeing him start at SS in September of 2012.
  23. well, since I didn't rent them on dvd, I didn't think they fit in that thread. ok, thanks.
