  1. Nobody is guaranteed a loss. The number is not affected by this. If the cardinals play the Padres in a game, One will lose, that’s a guarantee
  2. I hope we’re focusing on the division race. Yeah, I’m just talking about the official playoff spot magic number
  3. Technically, the magic number to clinch a general playoff spot is 4, It’s currently 5 on the Padres and cardinals and 4 on the reds, but since the cards and Padres play this weekend, one is guaranteed at least a loss, which in theory lowers it to 4
  4. For today, I would IL Anderson, and option Reyes, then recall Sánchez and Bettinger ( he can burn multiple innings) . And go In to the game steadfast that Hader Williams Box Strickland and Cousins do not pitch . Then on Friday, I’d activate Peralta and Escobar and option Topa and Bettinger
  5. My hunch is Ashby will piggyback Peralta tomorrow to limit Freddys innings
  6. I thinks he’s an under the radar prospect we are kinda overlooking.
  7. The problem against lefties with this team is caused by our right handed hitters, with the exception of Garcia, not hitting them for any kind of high OPS to counter the decreases from the lefties. Adames , Urias and Cain do not provide any kind of oomph and Yelich, Narvaez and Tellez are neutralized.
  8. I get a sense Yelich doesn’t like to do the claws thing
  9. With a win , the Brewers would clinch home field for a tiebreaker game with the Reds
  10. It’s sort of interesting to see that impression, because this year’s team actually gives me more hope for late innings offense than in the past. Yeah, 2018 team scored a lot early. Seems like this one scores more late. We definitely score late runs for sure, but it’s more as put away runs as opposed to come from behind runs. Of course with 76 wins, we haven’t been behind that often for chances to come back late
  11. As successful as this team has been, It does not seem to come back at all once down in the later innings. Two comebacks on the road in the 9th against the Rockies and Cardinals. The announcers talk often about all the comebacks, but they have been almost exclusively small early deficits. The team has not had a walk off in the 9th at home all year. And has never even tied it at home in the 9th that I can remember
  12. Do we know whether, if Garcia does not exercise his part of the mutual option, the Brewers can still offer him a qualifying offer??
  13. I notice Ashby was removed after 1 inning tonight for Nashville. I wonder if they did that in case he was needed to join the rotation soon.
  14. Felix Valerio may be something special here. His secondary stats are really good especially for a 20yo in his first full season experience. More walks than Ks and just enough power to be intriguing
  15. At least for me, I think the anxiousness about holding on to the lead is the fact that we are supposed to win the division now. All pundits and experts say nobody is catching the Brewers. Therefore, anything less than a division win will seem like I kick in the pants, and a major let down.
  16. Hopefully, the heat was just getting to Woody, and they figured they would only get one more inning from him anyways
  17. Just get through 5 and we can rest easy. Either way with the new rules this game will count, there is no more starting a game over if it doesn't go 5 innings, but yeah it would be nicer to just get an easy 5 or 6 inning win or something. Looking at the radar now, it looks like a possibility of a brief delay, but this game will get finished tonight
  18. I’ve learned two things today. One being that it’s supposed to be Pat-a-cake and not patty cake and the other being this. I thought this would all be wiped clean. Hell yes. No worries, there are still folks who think a prima donna is a "pre-Madonna". And the song maresy dotes and dosey dotes and little lamsidivey is actually : Mares eat oats And does eat oats And little lambs eat ivy
  19. I bet with Sanchez starting and likely only going a few innings, Counsell figured that the Giants would use a few lefties during the night that would neutralize Omar, so give him today off instead of his usual Sunday
  20. Rowdy came into the year with 2.012 service time. He spent some time in the minors with Toronto. It may have just been enough to keep him below 3.000 at the end of this year, which means we would have control of Tellez 22-25
  21. According to Rays guy Marc Topkin, the 2022 schedule will be released later today. Spoiler from him : Brewers and Rays have a home and home series
  22. Some draft picks getting started tonight. Frelick Binelas Clarke Raabe Murray
