  1. Remember when the Packers clinched the one seed and secured the Home Field Equalness
  2. Evidently many years of large vocal crowds making noise has never affected play on the fieid.
  3. So to be clear, home field bears no advantage at all??
  4. My point is that Milwaukee may be at a unique disadvantage by to a degree having to play 81 full on road games and 9 more semi road games. All teams at all levels and all sports can have a game where crowd noise and momentum and such caused by the crowd dynamic can lead to them making mistakes. my point is that Milwaukee shouldn't have to play 9 extra ones than other teams.
  5. A solid home field and vocal crowd can lead to a team playing shoddy defense, if home crowds meant nothing, then how come it is the biggest reward given to a first place team in all sports. If We were playing the Reds or Padres today, maybe those errors aren't made, maybe they are, but a overly vocal anti brewer crowd can have an effect on gameplay
  6. And the Brewers are good right and and were good last year, and yet the place was taken over by the more highly populated Cubs universe
  7. Oh I'm sure the ratio fluctuates, but it's not like it ever goes down to a few hundred cubs fans, that's what a normal visiting team should have at a road game.
  8. It would not matter if the Brewers got better, there are now and will naturally always be more Cubs fans. No matter who's good or who's bad, there will always be a large amount of Cubs fans in mp
  9. Packers comparison is nowhere near the same. 8 NFL home games as compared to 81. Brewer fans have 72 other games to choose from other than the Cubs ones.
  10. I'd be totally fine with giving the tickets away, that's always a good idea anyways for any business. Other ideas could be only scheduling Cub series in April May and September during the week as opposed to weekends
  11. Tickets to your favorite team should not be seen as a profitable investment, it goes against everything that sports should be about and fandom. I'm as free market and capitalisti as they come, but the sports world is different. If you are a Brewers fan and have Cubs tickets, seriously don't sell them out of respect for long suffering fans who hated days like today. I think it's quite possible that the lack of home field advantage today cost us a game. It put more pressure on our home team when the fans are yelling and screaming as if they were the road team.
  12. I truly do feel there is an unfair strategic disadvantage for Milwaukee regarding this. The Brewers draw well, heck last year they drew more than the world series champions by about 1000 a game. So, the argument can't be made that Brewer fans don't show up. This is the disadvantage: We are the only team who has a divisional rival who's population and fan pool is exponentially bigger than ours and said divisional rival is 90 miles away. It really does cause The Brewers to lose 9 or 10 home field advantages a year. Cubs fans have a higher availability of funds as well to be willing to spend the extra to see them play. I think the best solution is to Move the cubs or brewers into different divisions. No other team has to deal with that kind of dynamic.
  13. We lost tonight cause of Carlos Martinez and poor defense. Chacin was good enough for the team to win. He wasn't great, but he's no the reason this one will be a loss.
  14. It just seems like when our stsrter gives up a hard hit ball, that the hit is very damaging. look at his line thru 5, Chacin has only given up 6 baserunners and 4 hits. I would think that as the season goes on some of the hard hit balls will be outs or less damaging singles.
  15. According to heyman, McHugh is available for trade. How about Thames and Broxton and maybe ponce for mchugh
  16. Ok, let's remove chacins 3 worst and 3 best starts. His era in the remain 26 games is 3.32 3 best were 21 shutout innings 3 worst were the aforementioned 20.70 era
  17. Chacin had 32 starts last year. 3 starts for a 20.70 era 29 starts for a 2.91 era All three bad starts were on the road and early in the season Whip of 1.27 Fip a reasonable 4.2 I think he will be a great addition to the rotation
  18. Let's not forget that there is a good chance that the team considers Hader as a rotation member as early as next year.
  19. Change likely to possibly
  20. I bet he has a pending agreed upon contract with the brewers or perhaps another team, and he has placed a deadline of say March 20 to decide on the offer. He likely is deciding that this is his one chance at free agency and wants to get the most out of it. He has likely agreed to throw bullpen sessions under the supervision of the pending team, and the team has likely agreed to wait, both with the understanding that if he gets a higher offer or the team has a chance to acquire a pitcher from another way, that they will give 48 hours to match or accept the deal.
  21. Let me reword my original question Flash forward to spring 2028........ Would you rather...... A. Brewers won the world series in 2018, followed by the 9 losing seasons. Or B. Brewers made the playoffs 7 times some with deep runs, but never won the title.
  22. Maybe the question would be better if you had to pick after the 10 years was over. I'd agree that if you knew you weren't gonna win the series it would take some of the fun out of the playoff chases
  23. Would you rather: A. Win a world series in 2018 but then never finish above 500 for the next 9 years. Or B. Have 8 winning seasons and 7 playoff appearances but never win it all over those same 10 years. Including deep playoff runs.
