  1. I also just noticed that the Brewers gained a game on every team in the division today.
  2. The Reds have the best run differential in the NL Central, but are in 4th place. They will make a hard run push before this year is over. Edit: Fixed my sentence.
  3. Are the Nashville Sounds being forced by the big club to participate in some cockamamie scientific experiment testing some sort of totally irrational lineup building hypothesis?
  4. Renaldo Jenkins makes his debut, playing SS and batting 8th for AZL.
  5. Thank you Kentrail for making me look good. What the heck is Khris Davis? Is he really this good? He just has not stopped since he became a pro.
  6. Excited to follow tonight. BC is about to start. Kentrail Davis has some nice aspects to his batting line. As does Josh Prince. I think Kentrail just needs to get out of the FSL. D'Vo is starting tonight.
  7. I can't say I agree that Greinke is pitching poorly either. I love Kranitz so far. When he goes out for a mound visit, he has a great demeanor. He looks confident and makes it seem as though he knows something we don't, which is good. I used to hate Peterson's mound visits.
  8. I don't think size has much to do with it. Some, maybe. The bigger issue is the level of competition. Thornburg is a 'young' college pitcher. So that should offset it a little. Brevard could really use him in the 2nd half and Tyler needs the challenge.
  9. You just would not believe what Suppan did to the Sounds tonight. And Taylor Green has received a ton of well-deserved love lately, but Gamel has been the best hitter on that team all year, without a doubt.
  10. Yeah, something stinks here. I hope he is just making a bad first impression. (Why would anyone ever want to hope that?)
  11. You are right, Kricket. I was mostly venting. Still, why can't they have both? Our team is one that should be leading the league in amateur spending. It is the best way for us to stay competitive. I am talking 6,7,..10 million every year. That is a very solid investment. What am I missing?
  12. Blows my mind that teams just don't take the players first offer. Hard slotting is on the way, Is Jungmann asking for 10 million? I mean, c'mon. It's really easy. and I am not even going to look at the slots. Jungmann 2.5 million Bradley 2.1 million Lopez 750,000 Gagnon 300,000 Ramirez 200,000 Reed 250,000 Houle 150,000 . . . Cain 75-100,000 Mallex 75-100,000 and on and on. That is like 1000 years of service time for the cost of one YuniB. This penny pinching nonsense is not cool. Quit it with the slick negotiations and just get a deal done. Edit: If one wanted to trust in Doug....maybe these deals are not 'done' because they are over 10% slot? So stupid.
  13. Because I mentioned his good first inning, I now am responsible for his poor 4th inning. I'm sorry everyone. The 1st round pick is still under performing because of me.
  14. I'm excited to see Kenny Allison hit. He looked good the few times I have seen him. Garvey Rivera Walla At the top for Helena. Edit: Arnett with a super clean 1st.
  15. Too bad. It would be a lot more fun if they didn't have all these built in excuses for why the Brewers win the division this year.
  16. Expect the worst, hope for the best. The more important topic is regarding the apparent rule change in the Pioneer League that allows teams to play 4 catchers at a time.
  17. Jeez, Mike, look up! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Great season so far. Certainly a bright spot. Has a good eye, some bat quickness (1st highlight hit shown), some power, and he's got room to fill out even.
  18. When Jungmann throws his 2-Seamer, it moves like crazy. Bores in on RHB's. I saw a couple at 89-90. He should watch some Maddux tape to see how to get lefties with it. Edit: Lost it a little in the 3rd. He threw some catcher assisted wild pitches. But he made a fantastic bare hand play on a bunt to get the guy at third and K'ed the heart of the order (Tucker, Zunino) to get out of it. Zunino on 3 pitches. Edit 2: Jungmann is not pinpoint tonight, but I will say that the Gators are pretty stacked on offense. Their 8 hitter socked 3 bombs in a playoff game last year. Taylor has certainly had his impressive moments though. And From Klaw: keithlaw keithlaw 5 is high but i agree there could be more in there RT @BucTD3: Jungmann has at least 5 mph in his delivery. He doesn't use his legs at all.
  19. Taylor just K'ed Top Prospect Mike Zunino with a nasty breaker down and away. That was a plus pitch in any book. Edit: 8 pitch second. 3 ground outs. Edit 2: Regarding Zunino, I thought I heard them say he has out homered (18) the whole Texas team. He is the reason Ben McMahan doesn't play.
  20. Tommy Toledo looks to have filled out little bit since his draft forum photo. He was crazy skinny, now, just skinny. I'm excited to have him.
  21. Saw Walla hit a screamer out of Miller Park at the Rising Stars Game this year. Very quick bat.
  22. Taylor Green in the 9 hole, of course. Good day for Mat the Bat and Brock the Magnificent. The DSL got stomped but you have to love some of the hitting performances and Dicent wasn't bad.
  23. Calm down TLB! You will always be good enough in my eyes.
