    Analytics are about accuracy in predicting future results, not explaining past results. And three games is quite the small sample. Analytics will never be 100% accurate in predicting the outcome of a very small sample of games.

    Back to the original topic, the reason for the shuttling back and forth is because the Brewers have a number of young SPs who are talented but either haven't built up their innings yet or are coming off of injuries and still building back up and they are trying to manage the workload. Compounding that is the injuries to Priester and Woodruff who, if healthy, would make the shuttling of Gasser/Crow/Henderson much easier to manage.

    Just like 90% of middle infielders are better 2B than SS, 90% of pitchers are better relievers than starters. That shouldn't be the deciding factor. The deciding factors should be: Is he good enough to be a MLB starter? (Yes) Is he one of the 5-6 best options for starters on the team? (Maybe) If the answer to #2 is no, he's in the bullpen. If it's yes, he's in the rotation. If it's maybe - "out getter".

    After the game I turned on the NFL Network because they had the Bears-Rams playoff game on. Got to see Williams throw it away in OT. It was a glorious evening.

    Are my eyes deceiving me, or did Bauers not only hit his home run off of the scoreboard, but he hit it off of his name on the scoreboard? Or was it a little lower than that?

    Congratulations Chicago on winning your first playoff game since before the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl.

    Has there been another hitter who didn't really figure it out until he was 29/30? I can name a few who figured it out at 27, but I'm struggling to think of anyone who became a very good hitter after that.
