  1. James Franklin to Virginia Tech. Somehow negotiated or mitigated his buyout from $49M down to $9M.
  2. Only six teams in the NFC have a positive point differential and one of those is +2.
  3. It worked! Thank you!! Maybe it worked too well... now I can see all of the micro-chips (not microchips) in my windshield.
  4. @Joseph Zarr has been awful quiet lately...
  5. Yeah, but he can't manage a bullpen!
  6. For those with YouTube TV, the game is being replayed at 11:15PM Central on NFL Network. So, if you have YTTV set to record Packers games, it should record it and you can watch it tomorrow without having to do some free trial with something else.
  7. WADR, I don't want to hear about the weather or their personnel. There wasn't any precipitation until late in the 2nd quarter and Wisconsin was without their: Starting QB and their #2 QB went down early Starting and #3 RB and their #2 RB was healthy enough to only get 3 carries Starting LT, backup LT (B. Nelson), 3rd string LT (L. Nelson) Starting OC Starting RG/backup OC (Kodanko) Starting TE Starting ILB (Alliegro) Starting safety Wisconsin earned that win.
  8. If you look at Chryst's last three recruiting classes... (*ducks and runs for cover*)
  9. He was playing the scout team QB until the bye week. There's only so many snaps to go around in practice, and at least 95% go to the first and 2nd string QBs.
  10. Fickell not wearing the T.E.A.M. vest - I'm feeling good about this!
  11. False. He was fired because he either half-assed or flat out refused to do essential parts of his job that Mac repeatedly told him to do. Mac put him on performance improvement plan and implored him to do those things and he still refused to do parts of his job. Chryst took MONTHS to replace his recruiting director when he left. He had a 4-star LB visit and NOBODY talked to him. He refused to do or canceled meet & greets with the big donors. He wasn't doing his job. Nobody at UW gets fired because they are doing OK. And as for your "Chryst derangement syndrome", what we are saying by bringing up his last three recruiting classes is that if Chryst was still the HC they would be doing just as bad. That's not the same as "blaming Chryst" for Fickell's record.
  12. As Nate said, he's only had two full recruiting classes. The best players from the 2023 class were ones he brought in/back or closed (Alliegro, Kekahuna, Ashcraft). His first full recruiting class is at best true sophomores. In football, a coach needs four full recruiting classes. As physical as football is, it's really hard to win with underclassmen in football. Basketball is a different story.
  13. Exactly. Here's Chryst's last three recruiting classes at arguably the most important positions: QB: Deacon Hill, Myles Burkett, Cole LaCrue RB: Jackson Acker, Loyal Crawford, Antwan Roberts, Nate White (Braelon Allen was recruited as a safety/LB and moved to RB after he got here) OL: Nolan Rucci, Riley Mahlman, JP Benzschawel, Joe Brunner, Barrett Nelson, James Durand DL: Mike Jarvis, Curt Neal, Isaac Hamm OLB/Edge: Ayo Adebogun, Darryl Peterson, TJ Bollers, Tristan Monday, Jordan Mayer Tell me that team would be any better.
  14. And Cignetti made a home run hire with Mike Shanahan. You don't need to look any further than Fickell to see the impact of good coordinators. Good coordinators at Cincinnati and he's undefeated (in that conference, FWIW, but Cincinnati is ranked this year). Bad coordinators at UW = disaster. Same w/Chryst - look at what happened when he promoted Joe Rudolph to OC. In this day and age, the HC has as little to do directly with the on-field success as they ever have. The HC is responsible for recruiting (externally and internally), but even so, NIL often has the last say with that.
  15. If Kraft is done for the year, I don't see the Super Bowl happening anyway. I thought DT was a bigger need. Carolina ran for 163 yards - another CB wouldn't have helped that at all.
  16. It was already headed there. Chryst was fired for a reason. They just weren't able to turn it around.
  17. Reminder that if he doesn't take the QO and goes into the free market and finds the market isn't what he and his agent thought it would be (or fails the physical with the new team and the contract is voided), he can't go back and accept the QO. There is a world in which he fails the physical with someone else and ends up getting less than the QO.
  18. It's possible that this is coming from above the athletic department. With all of the uncertainty about government funding right now, it's possible that Mnookin put a freeze on the buyout and said that the buyout funds might be needed for other things. I wouldn't say "probable", but certainly "possible".
  19. I can almost guarantee that any contract offer comes with an attached NDA. Maybe what you mean by "shops around" is "seeks other offers", but I highly doubt that he can tell other clubs whether or not he has an offer from MIL. They may be able to generically say, "we have an offer from another team", but I doubt that they can say anything more specific than that.
  20. The Brewers know his medicals better than anybody. If they don't extend a QO, my guess is it isn't because of a handshake agreement.
  21. Yep. They only had seven offensive possessions against Carolina. When two of those end in turnovers (three if you count on downs)... you're not going to score TDs on all of the others. Teams aren't going to score on all of their possessions. It just doesn't happen.
  22. When one of your starting DTs goes down in the first half and you're down to 3 healthy active bodies there - one an undrafted rookie and one an undersized pass rusher - that makes it really hard to stop the run. Carolina is 5th in rushing YPG and 9th in rushing YPC, so they're actually pretty good in running the ball. They need to get NO on the line and see what they need for Godchaux or Shepherd. Or both.
  23. Their fans kept their tickets off of the secondary market.
  24. The elephant in the room is that with the loss of Wooden they were down to Wyatt, Brooks, and Stackhouse. That's why they gave up 163 yards rushing. Add to that the loss of Kraft which not only did they likely have a significant game plan around him but the emotional shock of losing a star player. Tack on Banks and Golden going down... You lose that many starters and no wonder they lost the game.
  25. Forget CB, they need to find a DT or two who can stop the run.
