Strickland and Cousins have added some stability to the bullpen. Urias has added some stability to 3B. Hiura may have righted the ship. Need to get CF going (either a hot streak for JBJ or get Cain back). All they need is a LHRP (I think Ashby/Small are more likely to be September adds) and once they get Cain, Vogelbach, and Topa back they'll run away with the division.

A. Even if the NCAA pays players, the are not going to pay a $1M signing bonus like the 78th overall pick in the draft, much less a $3M signing bonus like the 44th overall pick in the draft, much less a $10M signing bonus like the 10th overall pick in the draft. B. As I mentioned, it's not a big issue now (but you see the number of guys not just bowing out of bowl games but leaving the team mid-season increasing every year), but add two more games and it's going to be an issue.

Thanks, Nate! The laptop has 8GB DDR4 2400 MHz RAM (4GB OnBoard + 4GB DIMM), which is double what I have now. Not sure about the video card, just says "Integrated Intel UHD Graphics". Not professional video editing, no Adobe Premiere Pro, just using the Windows 10 video editor app.

Thank you, nate, it was in fact the fan. After getting the runaround from them, they didn't offer enough of a credit so I returned it. I'm looking at a similar laptop that has an Intel 10th gen i5-1035G1 processor. It is only 1GHz, but it's a quad-core processor, so I'd appreciate some advice as to whether that's a decent processor for basic computing (no gaming, but some multi-tasking with multiple programs running and running on Win10 and likely some video recording/editing). Thanks!

The more games, the less likely it will determine a national champion and it has nothing to do with luck. It has everything to do with the top players who have millions of dollars on the line having more chances to get seriously injured. Not just during games, but also during practice. The more games, the fewer top players who will play. The fewer top players who will play, the less we can say a team is the true national champion. If you're the #15/16 team and you're playing Alabama/Clemson/Ohio State, which do you think you have a better chance of - winning or getting injured? If you play for Alabama/Clemson/Ohio State and you're projected to be a first round pick, do you want to play four more games? Hell no. Is playing four more games for a national championship worth it? Maybe, maybe not. It's not an issue now because it's only two more games. Add two more games and it becomes an issue.

Aaaaand boom goes the dynamite. UW gets their fifth commitment of the week in WR Tommy McIntosh. McIntosh is 6'5" so it's not clear if they are projecting him at WR or at TE. He's not highly ranked but had been gaining a lot of momentum and attention this spring, and had offers from Texas, Iowa, Cincinnati, and Indiana, three of which have much more WR-friendly offenses.

Please put discussion of the playoff expansion here unless is specifically relates to UW to keep the Badgers thread about the Badgers. Not a fan of 12 teams. I could get behind eight; the Power 5 conference champs plus three at-larges with preference for the at-larges going to undefeated teams. But if you're ranked lower than #8 you don't belong in the national championship game (unless you are a non-Power-5 undefeated team).

Yeah, because they were scared to go to Ryan. Kaminsky said he avoided Ryan his first two years. What I'm hearing from several sources is that Tucker was stirring the pot with the players (including Kobe King), trying to get the administration to fire Gard so that he could take over as head coach. He's thought to be the one who leaked the recording. It makes sense, and could be the reason why he wasn't retained and replaced with Chambliss. Leaking the tape was revenge. Another rumor is that Gard went to the AD and said it's either him or me.

The commitment wave has started. 3-star OT/DL Barrett Nelson, younger brother of Jack Nelson, was first. TE JT Seagraves is next; he's unranked by the major services but has been blowing up the camps - he's one of those multi-sport athletes from a smaller school who didn't go to camps until now but is very athletic (also top athlete in basketball and track) and I think was the top TE on their board. Then they got 3-star ATH/S Cade Yacamelli; he's another guy who is under the radar and a lower ranked guy because he's a likely position switcher who plays QB in HS, much like TJ Edwards did. He camped and impressed the staff to the point where they made an offer right away. They need safeties after recruiting only three in the last three seasons and losing Pearson. I wouldn't put much stock in recruiting rankings this year since kids played little if any football last fall and didn't go to camps until basically now. (Barrett Nelson transferred to another school in order to play.) If the Badgers offered a guy right after he camped with them, they really liked what they saw and didn't want others to see them.

Harris shot 47.3% from 3 this season and has shot over 47% from 3 two of the last three seasons. That's the equivalent of shooting 71% from 2. The highest 2-pt shooting % in the history of the NBA is DeAndre Jordan (also on the Nets) at 67.5%; Dwight Howard is 59%, Shaq is 58%, Wilt Chamberlain 54%. (For reference, Tony Snell shot 40.3% from 3 during his time with the Bucks; good, but not better than the best 2-point shooting % in the history of the NBA.) The reason he isn't a volume scorer is because he's on the same team as Durant, Irving, and Harden. He isn't the focus of the game plan, but I guarantee he is a part of the gameplan and is a critical part of the offense and opening up the floor for those three. And Harden at 80%, IMO, is still better than anyone on the Bucks except Giannis and Money and on about the same level as Holiday. And if you don't think that Durant is one of the top 15 players in the NBA, please see Game 5.

The air is thinner in Denver so spin will have less effect on movement of the ball.

The first three games they had a healthy Durant and Irving and two of the three were on the road. I don't see how you expect to win at least two of them. And why do people not acknowledge that they also have the top three point shooter in the league (and it's not Durant).

There's a place that's based here in Chicago that sells used tires on-line. You can look up the brand/size/tread depth of your tire so that you don't have to replace all of them if you have AWD. I blew a tire on my SUV a couple of years ago and was able to find the same brand/size/tread depth (actually, not sure about brand, but was same size and depth) and I think it was $30 or $40 for the tire. I took the tire to the dealership and they put it on (I think for a small fee), but if you go to their shop they will put it on for you for $10. A buddy of mine needed to replace all of his tires. He found four there that were almost new and spent $500 instead of over $1000. I think they sell on eBay, but they also have their own website.

They weren't missing Irving the first three games of the series, and I think you're selling Blake Griffin, Jeff Green, and the leading 3-point shooter in the NBA short.

Who were they without besides Irving yesterday? They still had Durant, Harden, Griffin, Jeff Green, and the leading 3-point shooter in the NBA. My understanding is that Jordan has just fallen out of the rotation and isn't hurt (like Bobby Portis yesterday). You're still expecting to beat that team on the road? As for health, the Bucks are without one of their starters, one of their most athletic/active players and best offensive rebounders. He isn't Kyrie Irving, but he's good enough to start for a team that went 46-26.

Stearns has always cycled through the last 1-2 roster spots on the 40-man. He claims guys with options, sends them down to AAA, and tries to DFA them later and see if they'll pass through waivers and stay in the org. -
Not going to look through the last 20 pages to see if someone said this, but can they quit showing the interview with the coaches while the damn game is going on?

I just purchased a refurbished laptop off of eBay. I've purchased two refurbished computers previously off of eBay and they worked out well, each lasting over five years until the technology got too outdated. I just fired this one up and it seems to be working well, but it's making a loud rattling noise under the right side of the keyboard. It's a PC, Lenovo, 15' screen, recent model (late 2020 I believe). Anyone know what that rattling might be and if I should be concerned? I have a 30-day warranty on it.
