  1. Ken Griffey Jr once responded to some ribbing from my friend and I by calling us fat and pretending to eat his glove and some grass. This doesn't really make him a hot head, but it didn't make us any quieter if that was what he was trying to do, it just had the opposite effect. I think if you are giving it to a player and can't handle him giving some back then you should be quiet. Obviously on most occasions the player takes the high road but sometimes your emotions have to get the best of you they aren't robots after all. By the way Griffey was the most distracted professional athelete I've ever seen. He spent a better part of most innings keeping up our back and forth. And for the record thats the game the Brewers came back from 7 down to beat the Reds.
  2. ESPN wants its guys to say outrageous or stupid predictions to give them something to talk about. Kruk admitted a few years back when he picked the Pirates to win the NL Central that the producers wanted him to pick something else and he said no so they said okay then you're picking the Pirates to win the Central. So basically there is no reason to listen to who they think will win but they why is every once in awhile still informative.
  3. Wasn't that Steve Phillips who said that about asking why Macha didn't get tossed? So doesn't that ruin the statement from the get go? I'm not sure how Phillips got that job or who he has photos of but I would not be suprised if Orel ever got arrested for assualting him. And I do believe it was Phillips who also said that if Mauer got hurt all of America would be sad.
  4. I'm pretty sure I read in the minor league forum that Escobar would be seeing some playing time at 2nd base in the next few weeks. Not so they can call him up but so that if there are any more injures related to the position that he will be ready to help out. Maybe I read this in the ESPN article I don't recall right now or I would link it.
  5. Well if I found someones wedding ring in my front yard and they offered me $20 for it back. I guess the ring would be worth more to me so no chance I would give it back. Now I know that circumstances are different but they really aren't all that different. And to some people the feeling of doing the right thing would have to be accounted for something.
  6. I forgot to mention, possibly because I'm still shocked, but I can't believe that there is an actual leage for ball hawking. Really that just floors me. To each his own I guess but I for one don't get that at all. And after reading a few of these blogs I can't believe they can keep stats where you have to take guys like HY's word for it. Anybody who will lie, cheat, steal to get a ball I just can't see not padding thier stats.
  7. I just think asking for something from another player is in poor taste, what did Ramirez have to do with any of this. Ask whatever you want of the guy who hit the ball but leave it at that. And don't forget that HY after it was all said in done still held on to the ball and made Coghlan beg for it even after meeting his demands. I think that above anything else says all I need to know about the guy. I too hope that people realize this is one individual and Brewer fan's in large are nothing like him.
  8. nice work rulz. I don't think coming up to bat to Superstar all last year helped him out at all
  9. I disagree with that statement about Braun talking in cliches. Braun is one of the few guys who don't talk in total cliches while being interviewed. Thats part of what has lead him to be viewed as cocky. The other part is that he is somewhat cocky obviously. But it seems worse because he is one of the few athelets who actually say what is on there mind and don't just spew cliche after cliche. Hes called himself and his teammates out twice atleast in the media, he had that whole thing about payback with the Pirates. All in all part of the reason I lover Ryan Braun is that he isn't afraid to say whats on his mind and upset some people, like most athelets are.
  10. I'll just list the top 5 guys I look for in the box score everyday first. Not necessarliy because they are great prospects but for whatever reason they have become my favorites. Lucroy Gindl Wooten Rogers Lawrie and honorable mention to Scrapetta because of his strikeout potential
  11. I love this signing, very low risk. I am also on the bandwagon of people who think Gagne is a good guy and I think it really speaks to that, that he is coming back to Milwaukee. Besides the ticket giveaway I thought I remembered hearing that he had donated a ton of money to local charaties as part of promotions. Welcome back Eric
  12. there is just no way the brewer fans would ever boo CC after what he did for the organization. i for one figured he would not be back from the moment we traded for him. but after seeing what he did for the team i bought a CC jersey and promised myself if and when he comes back to pitch in Milwaukee i will go and give him a standing ovation. then hope he loses
  13. How many outfield assists is that now for Gindl? Hopefully he can avoid the near .300 slump this time.
  14. LaPorta just hit a 3 run bomb that traveled about a mile and a half off a pretty good pitcher from the Netherlands.
  15. I only read the first three pages I'll admit I couldn't take it anymore after that so excuse me if this has been said. People need to settle down this is not that big of a deal. Prince pushed Manny down thats it its not like he sucker punch him and stomped him into the dirt. For all we know Manny crossed the line and complained about the offense and/or Prince's defense. I agree this kind of stuff should never happen in the dugout but I'm sure it goes on quit a bit in the clubhouse, maybe not always phsyically. I've been on enough sports teams that have had guys get into disagreements here and there and some go too far. But for the most part unlike when girls are in disagreements guys get over these things real quick and no hard feelings last. I'm sure most of you if you have lived with your good friends have had a blow up here and there and managed to still be friends10 minutes later.
  16. All the Canadians the Brewers have and they couldn't draft Mike Monster the Canadian Junior closer. He would immediatly become my favorite prospect.
  17. Now let me preface this by saying I'm not a huge supporter of Yost. But why when the team falls apart is it automatically the managers fault? Just seems like the easiest scapegoat. With Ned he can't win if the Brewers win its despite him, if they lose its all his fault. I personally think it was just a very bad series for the 5-8 hitters to completly take off. I'm more worried about the bottom of the Brewer lineup not turning things around then I am of Ned costing us the playoffs. Hart I expect to rebound and pick it up but someone else needs to step up and produce or too much will rely on the top half of the order and that will be troublesome to say the least.
  18. Yeah I heard Brenly's comments and went huh? I guess the cubs coming out of the gates since the all star game and losing 5 games in the standings is of no worries to them.
  19. the two companies did not merge nor are they going to merge. the deal was to split distrubition costs so they could play catch up with anuescher busch. they still produce their own beer and run their own breweries. just an fyi
  20. the only reason we hear or read these things from hank is that he has proven he is an idiot so reporters go out of their way to interview him.. if he wasn't an idiot then we wouldn't be privilaged to everyday comments from hank. as long as he keeps saying stupid things like this he will find a mic in his face every second of every day. just be glad that he is not influncing one decison made by the brewers.
  21. okay i admit i was drunk when i posted my last post and obviously this one. but really we have to be the only team in the league who has a fan site that has a post and 4 pages of response against their player playing in the all star game when he is 4th in voting. i understand that players are having better years but i'm pretty sure we are supposed to stick up for our players not put them down for little or no apparent reason.
  22. I don't understand you people really obp should be keeiping Braun ouf of the allstar game even though every other stat is screaming he is an allstar? and someone here really said the Muscle should make it now I:m a huge Muscle fan but he has 56 freaking at bats this seaon, I belive if he was 56 for 56 that still doesn't deserve an all star selection. but ryan braun does deserve a selection not for obp but for average, hr, rbi, hits and every other offensive caterogry but if you are against brewers in the all star game then go ahead vote for someone else.
  23. So if Hart is the better hitter then wouldn't the Brewers be better served with him staying in the 5 spot? Teams will keep walking Prince till someone makes them pay for it consistently and if Hart is the better hitter then this is the spot to use him. And I believe he will start making them pay for this strategy as his power gets going. So I'm good with Cameron hitting 2 and Hart 5.
  24. How could nobody mention McClung's 'stache that thing is great. And he gets bonus points for being asked what the thought was with the mustaches and answering that he didn't think there was a lot of thought behind it. The 'stache, that answer and his sudden resurgance makes him my current favorite reliever. (maybe it should just be surgance)
  25. Well if you have two great pitches like he does you don't want to get beat throwing your third best pitch. He uses it just enough to keep it in hitters minds but not enough that they can truly look for it. But if he could get it as good as Santana's well that would be nice.
