  1. I always thought having Weeks play thru that thumb injury in 2005 was idiotic. Completely killed his stats. Edit: As twri said, Weeks' 2007 was actually really strong. I think he wound up with a 140 pt split from his BA to OBP. Not being 100% affected his swing and he was terrible in June and July, but after coming back from AAA he was one of the best hitters in baseball.
  2. If I'm not mistaken, 2004 was Weeks' first full year in the minors (Huntsville). Maybe cadillacjosh was thinking 2007 or 2008.
  3. CC got interviewed after the Yanks clinched tonight and said it's great to be able to go to the playoffs two times in a row....umm hasn't CC went 4 yrs in a row now?
  4. The Boondock Saints dig was pretty solid. Avg episode overall though. Cold opening was pretty lame if you ask me. It seems like they've done stuff like that quite a bit, so it gets a bit tired. Also, 30 Rock was really funny last night. I thought it was really hit or miss last season. Community was excellent as usual.
  5. Tough but fair.
  6. Which was me. It was half in jest, but the point remains. If Macha took out Gamel for defensive reasons in a meaningless Sept game I think you might as well let him go and give Randolph a shot(considering it's widely assumed he's done in 2 wks anyways). Right now, his job is to give unproven players an audition for next year. He's not doing that.
  7. Okay, now you're just needling people who have a different opinion than you, which is not cool. No one has ever said that Macha should play Mat if he's nicked up. According to this thread, it was first reported Gamel was taken out for defensive purposes. Which if true, would have been absolutely insane.
  8. I've thought a lot of people on here have been overreacting to Macha's treatment of Gamel, but if the above is true, Macha truly is a @$+@#$%. If it were up to me, he'd have been fired before the end of the game. It's clear that Macha hates Gamel, but you'd still think he'd have a little tact in hiding his disdain. Really, you're gonna remove one of your top prospects (whose getting innings at a new position in a non meaningful game for EITHER team) for a defensive replacement? How did Melvin decide this is the guy he wants to lead the team?
  9. I just breezed thru the game on DVR, so I'm assuming you're talking about Weeks' final at bat with the bases loaded. Disgraceful. Took amazing restraint from Rickie to not lay out the ump there.
  10. Even if he was, I'd leave him off. I think after watching this year, he's more Ronny Cedeno than Jose Reyes.
  11. Jeffress, Rogers, and Lucroy.
  12. James Blunt is doing BK commercials now? Man, his career really went down the tubes.
  13. As for the lineup? Ozzie seems to have an affinity for sticking fast, slap hitters in the top two spots. Weeks is fast, but I can almost guarantee you Ozzie would have him batting fifth or sixth. I'd hate that for many reasons. Mainly because I think it's important to have guys at the top who are actually good at getting on and personally, I think Weeks would be a trainwreck in a RBI spot.
  14. Gomez robbed of a base hit by McGehee! GoGo has smoked it hard twice tonight. He can't afford to not have those fall in.
  15. I ask because I thought there was a Brewer fan that looked just like you. You are the one that posted pics with Trenni a few yrs ago, correct? /creeper Ha. This year I'm fine with that. I like the Giants outta the teams in the NL West, and obviously we're going nowhere. Just stay away years we're actually good.
  16. I watched some of The League last year, and I think it did gain some steam during the latter episodes I watched. But overall, I'm just not feeling it. I had to turn it off right around the time he was getting advice in the Champagne Room on "sleepers". Some of the characters remind me of cliched, light beer commercial dudes...and holy crap, do I hate light beer commercials. Sunny was avg at best. Disappointing for an opener, but it still did have some very funny lines/scenarios.
  17. Polish: I feel its one of the most interesting storylines going into the offseason, and obviously I feel really strongly that Weeks is very replaceable. I also find it really interesting that he's shot himself in the foot by not signing an extension during the season. This year he's basically the same player he's always been. But since he's had a ton of at bats and run hot on singles his counting numbers look better and everyone wants to sign him to a deal.
  18. Bunting wasn't the right strategy with two black holes coming up. Also, I'm so sick of hearing about Rickie Weeks' impressive batting practice.
  19. I haven't watched the last 2 days now (and don't plan to the rest of the year), so i was shocked to see this lineup. And holy crap. When Weeks is off, he's the worst hitter in the league by a landslide. Macha should probably pencil him in for an off day.
  20. Jesus Christ. That was one of the worst 1-2 pitches I've seen all year and Weeks misses it by mile. I've been hoping we can sell high in the offseason, but at this rate Melvin might not even really have a chance.
  21. Another 'trick for Weeks. Zambrano has had a much bigger zone than the Brewers tonight though. That second strike call on Weeks was way inside.
  22. One pitch one out. It was smoked though. Castro is really good. Light years better than escobar imo.
  23. Damn. Don't remind me haha. I do think it's safe to say this guy is gonna throw a little harder.
