  1. Late to the party but that's awfully close to being sig worthy...I may use it.
  2. Weeks hasn't signed a long term contract because he hasn't wanted to yet. But.....this might be really good for the brewers. He's having a horrible finish to the year, and will probably have a low 800ish OPS by seasons end. So if they lock him up, they should be able to get a him at a better price. Or hopefully Doug comes to his senses and realizes he has a cheaper, better version of him in Lawrie ready to take over for him in the next year. I just went thru my dvr and he's hit the ball hard only 5 times in the last 2 weeks and all 5 have been hits. His luck has been just off the charts this year considering how poor he's actually hit the ball when it stays in the parkl.
  3. Escobar would probably bat leadoff and Gomez/Cain would probably bat 2nd. He's very funny (unintentionally, of course), but as twirl said, he's a bad manager who routinely throws his guys under the bus. PASS.
  4. As others have said, no. Absolutely not. You retire numbers of a dude who's put up HOF type numbers for a decade or more. Trevor had one really good season for us, and one really poor (which imo sunk an avg team early). He held the all time record at 599, so I'm having a hard time figuring out why 600 is so much more special.
  5. Someone here at brewerfan has had that in their sig for years.
  6. I like Gamel, but that at-bat might as well been spliced in from last year.
  7. Yeah, he's been pretty damn lucky to be hitting .238 from that period. Weeks is an okay player, but good pitchers make him look foolish night after night. After watching every ab this year, I can say he's a guy I definitely don't want signed long term. Braun definitely camped under that ball. His pre throw routine was almost like he thought there was 2 outs.
  8. Four solo homeruns...would be nice to have a leadoff hitter who could actually get on base.
  9. Weeks is having a terrible end to the season. Gonna crush the Brewers SO record at this pace.
  10. Having Weeks and Hart in there at the top of the lineup against Hamels is a killer. They just cannot hit him at all.
  11. That was excellent. Reminded me of Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny.
  12. Guy's clearly got some anger issues. But...I have nothing against what he did tonight. OMG. He stole 2 bases when his team was down by 11. (Wound up scoring on shallow popup) Let's beam him again. I could see being ticked off if the Marlins were down big, but cripes, teams have to stop throwing 95 mph fastballs at people and assume that guys are just gonna continue to take it.
  13. JimH5: You read my mind. (I'm assuming you didn't see my mention of him earlier in the thread). He started out by being kinda rude and long winded, and now he's just getting creepy. There's one where he's just kind of lurking in the background. He's dying to be parodied by SNL (If it was still funny).
  14. I for one can't wait for WMLW's new ranch set teen drama "Heartland" to start up.
  15. That was about as unathletic of a play from a professional you'll ever see. Nice one casey. Keep sucking down those quarter-pounders.
  16. There's more to that article. Gamel has an easy decision if it's 1B in Milwaukee or 3B in Nashville. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/102017398.html
  17. My first guess was 3 yr 36 m. Someone on fangraphs speculated the most he'd get is 3 / 45. I'd definitely go 3/39 for him. Note: Just saw that Boras is his agent. Ugh.
  18. It appears the Yankees have Cliff Lee on their radar, so that pipe dream is probably over before it even really started. And with Melvin striking out on middle tier SP's, it seems that Attanasio wants his guy to switch his focus on SP thru trades. Why not use some of our freed up money on a bat? Beltre is having a monster year with Boston (.322/.361/.549 and playing his usual good defense), and will no doubt opt out of his deal. Some might look at his numbers in Seattle and be scared away, but it appears a lot of that was hitting at Safeco. Let's trade McG for a SP while he's still cheap, trade Fielder for another SP and move Gamel to 1B. Improved defense. Improved pitching. Offense should still be above avg. Fangraphs speculates his Market Value : http://www.fangraphs.com/...hp/beltres-market-value/
  19. Weeks is hell bent on being in the lineup every day after his past injuries. He could also have a very hot month and set records for a leadoff man. Not to mention Macha loves the guy, so I don't see that happening. IIRC he's only had one off day this year.
  20. Casey McGehee has been tattooing the baseball for about a month now, so I can't see how you can justify sitting him more than once a week at most. And I'm pro Gamel. (Not at 3B though). As long as it doesn't effect service time, 30 at bats in Sept is better than nothing. Should have left him down in AAA til the season was over and then call him up.
