  1. That was a great AB by Weeks, but the pitch he lined down the line was a changeup off of Wells. He's had several hits down the line this year, but they've all been on offspeed pitches.
  2. I agree with everything you have stated here, invader. I have to believe that he's probably been the worst hitter in MLB the last month. One thing that's killing Weeks at the plate (besides being behind 0-2 or 1-2 nearly every ab) is his inability to turn on the inside fastball, and it's something that has just started this year. It's become a huge hole in his swing, and pitchers have been attacking it the past month or so. He hasn't ripped a inside corner/just off the plate fastball down the LF line once this year. If he's showing no signs of getting out of it by the ASB, I think we should move on and see what we have in a guy like Heether.
  3. You may be right. After last night, it's pretty obvious Leslie is still into him. His talking head about needing a sign to leave his job cracked me up.
  4. What a lunatic. Macha has always said the players' production writes the lineup. What a load of crap. He's sat down Esco for 1-10 stretches. Rickie has had about 10, 1 for 10s in a row now and he's still in there. Not to mention his injury history. Edit: Yep, he's been reading the thread obviously. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. For god sake, I hope so. Ken Macha seems to be the only person on earth who thinks he should be playing this much. I think we should at least look at moving him down in the order if Macha is hell bent on trying to make him an ironman.
  6. I love how Ron is an AC'ist working in government. It kind of sucks Paul Schneider is leaving the show. He plays a great straight man. I'm guessing he's probably too good of an actor to be on tv for the long haul though. Agreed with BCin2004. Lowe and Scott have been excellent additions. I thought all shows nailed their finales last night. Matt Damon was excellent on 30 Rock.
  7. I agree with what your saying, Ennder. It even completely passes the eye test. Bush has looked significantly worse than Davis this year. Hoffman is probably lucky to have the ERA he does. He's had a ton of hard hit outs.
  8. Escobar is a good contact hitter, but it seems he rarely hits the ball hard. I agree with TLB that he's not a good enough hitter to hit in the 2 spot yet. I'm hoping by next year he'll be ready to take over the leadoff spot. If he can get his OBP in that .340 to .360 range he'd be perfect for it. Edit: And Briggs, the not getting enough pitches to hit in the 8 hole myth has been debunked for years now. Sure, it might get in a hitters head. I can buy that. But someone brought up the stats when JJ was whining about it a couple years ago. They actually get MORE pitches to hit, as the other team wants the pitcher leading off if possible.
  9. When those early 2000's teams were losing 90 plus, there was light at the end of the tunnel. We were waiting for the guys that are in the heart of this mess right now. I remember waking up before school my senior year of hs and scrolling thru the box scores to see what kind of night Weeks and Fielder had, and then going to school and telling my friends just wait until these guys get up here, we'll be set up for a long time.
  10. I find this to be very funny. Are you a TGJ fan or something?
  11. Good for you, jamie. I almost envy you. Baseball's a great sport, but when I actually think about the fact I devote 3 hrs of my day 162 times a year, it's a bit depressing. My ex wife use to get on me all the time for it, and probably rightfully so.
  12. And we were making fun of Cedeno earlier. Just inventing new ways to lose.
  13. I know it's nice that he has three hits tonight, but he hasn't hit one ball squarely. He's been really lucky.
  14. Calm down guys, Weeks is 1 for 1 with a 3B and a BB against Burress. He's obviously gonna have a good game tonight. /blue font This season has been a carbon copy of the 07 campaign for Weeks. Same amount of hr's and rbi's. Came off the same injury, but got out to a good start in April. Started lunging at the ball and is now mired in a terrible slump.
  15. Same here. I've always been impressed with Dillard the reliever, and it seems he's figured out how to miss more bats. Guys that throw in the mid to low 90s with heavy sink are the types I DREAD seeing us face. It would be nice to have some of our own for a change.
  16. That's brutal. When I know I have a package arriving on a certain day, that's all that's on my mind. And to find out it's the wrong item when you tear apart the package and find something completely different is absolutely devastating. It happened to me not too long ago with a golf club. I golf right handed and received a lefty taylor made burner. I had my tee time booked and everything.
  17. I saw 11 straight losses from 2006-2009. I know I was there to see a couple of CoCo's epic meltdowns in person. It finally snapped this year after the 2nd game of the season vs. the Rockies. Funny thing is, from 2001-2005, when the Brewers were really bad, I saw something like 7 or 8 wins in a row, including a win against the Yanks.
  18. I got busy at work so I paused the game during the top of ninth. Afterwards, I fast forwarded in the slowest setting and got to watch this unravel. At this point, I can't help but laugh.
