  1. I'd highly recommend selling your Civic on your own, rather than trading in. A dealer (large ones: Wilde, EVS, or Bergstrom's) will probably show you anywhere from 100-1000 for your car depending on how much markup they have in theirs. As long as your Civic is in decent condition and is under 200k, you should have no problem getting $1995 for it on craigslist. Have you thought about an Accord? The 2.3 V-Tec gets solid gas mileage, and they're arguably the best car on the road. Be prepared to pay top dollar though. Honda's and Toyota's are the only newish cars selling right now, so a lot of dealers will gladly let you walk even during the tough economic times if you want to negotiate on the stuff that's still in demand. As others have said, use Edmunds or NADA for finding what the car is worth. KBB is garbage, and a dealer is most likely gonna get mad just hearing those words. Probably the best way to get the market value is to use cars.com, and see what all the dealers in a couple hundred mile radius have the same car priced at. I'm sure you could get a hell of a deal on an 07 Focus right now, they've dropped like a rock at the auctions in the last month. Let me know if you want to know what the dealer probably paid for the car at an auction, I can look it up at the Milwaukee Metro website for you.
  2. Completely forgot about Freaks and Geeks. Good call razzzor.
  3. 1) Arrested Development 2) Seinfeld 3) 30 Rock 4) The Office 5) It's Always Sunny in Philly 6) The Simpsons 7) Letterman (He's great one night, not so great the next) 8) Entourage
  4. Michael was unbearble last season, and in episodes like Phyllis' Wedding. They've toned down his character this year, and his material has been its best since season 2. The only characters I don't really ever find funny are Pam and Meredith. I'd be perfectly fine with them leaving the show.
  5. While that sounds good in theory, it's gonna be next to impossible. Detroit has trouble keeping they're own free agents, and there are gonna be like 17 other teams "in the running." With regards to Chauncey, I was thinking he seems like one of the nicest guys in the league. Just from the way he plays, and pregame greetings he seems like a hell of a nice guy. Yoshi: with regards to Garnett, I still think the guy is a complete fool. Sure he's not a terrible guy like I said (I was just really ticked off from that loss), but I think he gets away with way too much on the court just because "ZOMG, that KG is so INTENSE!" reputation he has around the league.
  6. 30 Rock did this last year as well. Start the season with guest stars to build ratings (Seinfeld, Buscemi, Schwimmer, etc) and then do the same thing with the last couple of episodes as well. They usually integrate the guest stars well, but I agree that last week was a miss. I'd still be irrate if they canceled it though. What is the deal with Kath and Kim? Has there ever been worse marketing for a show? All I know about it is it ends the same every week with Mollly Shannon and Selma Blair sitting on lounge chairs talking.
  7. Nip/Tuck has had several jump-the-shark moments, and should have ended awhile ago. Isn't Scrubs moving to ABC for its final season? That show has been pretty terrible the last 2 seasons. Words cannot describe how much I hate Zach Braff. Entourage season 4 was pretty stale from what I saw. I don't have HBO anymore, so maybe 5 is a bit better. Hopefully, because the first 3 seasons were very good. Real World and all the challenges that go along with it. It's pretty sad that the cast members still can just pack up their lives a couple of times a year, and head out to an exotic location to participate in challenges. Some of these people are pushing 40. Real World just changes locations, the cast is always exactly the same types of people. And they must be close to running out of large metro areas by now.
  8. I really liked Ryan's character the last few years, especially when he was in corporate. His talking head about his $300 haircut was classic Ryan. This year, it's just too far-fetched to have him employed at Dunder Miflin. Andy was great on Thursday. "Beer me two long island ice teas." and "Do you like apples?" were some good ones I can remember.
  9. RJ has been so bad. I wonder if he's just a product of Jason Kidd. Just really, really hard to sum up how bad he's been. I like the intensity he brings, but he's been a huge bust overall. NBA refs are a complete embarrassment. We complained all year about the umps in MLB, but tonite was a prime example of the problem of the league and the officiating. David Stern should be ashamed. As Jon said, Garnett staying around and Bogut being tossed was very disturbing. Tonight was nothing new for Garnett. He's a dirty player, an embarrassment to the league any time he's behind a mic, and pretty much just a classless human being. Did I miss anything? !#$+@*!@ that was a heartbreaking loss. The refs absolutely mailed it in, but it still reallly hurts.
  10. A couple of thoughts since it hasn't been bumped in awhile: - Nice win last night. They looked horrible in the first half, and turned it around. That's something that wouldn't have happened with Coach K last year. Bogut's offensive game has been very suspect, but he's turned into an above average defender and rebounder. He still needs to work on his midrange shot and freethrows. He'd be a nice 17/10 player if he did. - Ramon Sessions is really good. He's basically a rookie, and he's averaging 15 and 5. Love his offensive game. If he can improve his jumper (it already has since last season) and if Skiles can make him an average defender, he's a top 10 PG in the NBA. Gotta give Larry Harris credit for that pick. - I'm happy to see LRMAM starting. He's already so much better offensively since his days at UCLA. I can't remember being this excited about a Bucks' rookie. - I've flip-flopped on Alexander relentlessly, but after finally getting to see him play some minutes (probably a good idea before forming an opinion on a player) I'm sold on the guy. I can't believe how quick he is. He's definitely got the ability to take any 3 off the dribble, and he's already got a nice jumper to boot, which is half the battle. With his talent and work ethic, I think worst case scenario in a few years is a solid 6th man. - A 4-5 start isn't bad at all, considering our best scorer is out, and the very difficult schedule. They're heading in the right direction, that's for sure.
  11. Looks like they made the correct choice, which is rather shocking.

  13. Yep, Detroit wins this trade, but it isn't terrible for Denver either. AI and Carmelo weren't a good fit, but I don't like Billups long term contract from Denver's perspective. I think this gives Detroit a better chance to do some damage in the playoffs, and if they don't make a huge run, at least they'll have cap room and can blow it up. I don't think the Billups, Hamilton, Sheed core were going to win another championship again. Denver is in a bad position. They have a really good team, but it just can't stack up against the likes of Houston, Utah, LAL, SA, and NO. They should be looking towards the future imo.
  14. That's a pretty funny story, but also kind of sad at the same time. If that doesn't give JA motivation to get better, I don't know what will. I kind of bought into the hype right before the draft, mostly because of how athletic he is and how he projects to be a player we could really use. But Brook Lopez, Brandon Rush, or even Robin Lopez would really look nice on this team right now. I'm certainly willing to give JA at least a full season though before I'd label him a bust.
  15. The only time I can recall winning not creating interest in a team is the Marlins. And Miami fans are an absolute joke. The Bucks had very good support during their run with the Big 3. I do agree that just getting to the playoffs as a 6,7, or 8 seed won't garner much interest. The Bradley Center will be packed if the team plays hard and gets somewhat deep in the playoffs though. The situation is actually very similar to the Brewers during the early part of the late 90's/early 2000's. They finally got a decent coach, and all indications are that the GM should prove to be solid. Now they just need get a new arena. If Kohl agrees to stay out of all the decisions, I'm okay with him staying as owner.
  16. I think McGlocklin almost cares too much, if that makes any sense. He's hard on the players when they screw up. He was devestated after Calderon hit that 3 late, and he ripped Sessions pretty hard (deservedly so). Uecker had his good friend Jack Daniels to get him thru the brutal years, whereas J-Mac can't really do that right at courtside. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Luc Richard is a steal. I didn't like the pick initially. I thought Chris Douglas Roberts out of Memphis would have been a better pick at the time, but there's no way I can complain now. The guy is already a really good defender, and has the potential to be great. I can't help but imagine if we only had drafted Brook Lopez over Alexander. That would take Gadz out of the rotation, and we don't lose anything since Alexander hasn't even got off the bench yet. I think we're a major player in the East if that scenario happens.
  17. I can't believe they played Bruce Springsteen - The Rising. This team needs Mark A in the worst way. This team isn't so bad 6 or 7 deep. Players like Bell and Gadzurich getting minutes is just a killer though. How the hell is Gadz getting PT over Elson? And jesus, for a 1/2, Bell has to be the worst shooter I've ever seen. It's half time, and the Bucks should be killing them. Redd has had several open looks, and has bricked them all. He's terrible.
  18. Man, I'm liking these red uniforms. Frustrating first quarter. The Bucks are outplaying them, just not making open shots after the hot start.
  19. Counsell is one gritty guy that I never minded. He actually had a pretty good OBP this year, and I think he got more AB's than he ever wanted/expected.
  20. I was about to post a very similar review. The cold open and Cornell stuff was good, but I can't get past Jim's brothers. It was just awful writing, as you alluded to, along with some horrible acting by the two actors. The Michael and Holly stuff wasn't so great either. Side Note: When is Pam coming back? Wasn't the program only supposed to be 3 months?
  21. This has been going on his entire career. It's really something how routinely he gets hosed on touch fouls.
  22. My family had an early flight this morning: Milwaukee to Dallas. My brother called and said Mike Maddux and his whole family were a row ahead of them, so he's probably as good as gone.
  23. I haven't been watching the WS, but I thought Maddon was pretty poor in the ALCS. He's also the idiot that intentionally walked in a run in the 9th this past regular season, so maybe that clouds my judgment as well. I'm still hoping for Cirillo to be named hitting coach. I don't know why it's always some guy that has been out of the game forever. Cirillo has faced a lot of the pitchers still pitching today. I hate the 3 choices leaked to the press. Gun to my head: Macha>Randolph>>>>>>>>>>Brenly
  24. I'll watch when I get the chance, as long as they play hard under Skiles. I hated Mo, and Simmons and Yi were garbage, so I thought they did pretty good given the situation in the offseason. I hate the Joe Alexander pick. He's terrible. I saw the game for a second last night and all I saw was him dribble down the court with no one around and stumble and lose the ball with no one around.
  25. I agree with you Stevo. This was a classic office episode. The Jim/Pam thing at the end was a bit corny, but the rest was A+ imo.
