  1. Yeah, there isn't much the guy can do. It is really hard to win games when you're consistently scoring 2 to 4 runs.
  2. Yeesh. I'm almost afraid to look at what his OBP is during that stretch.
  3. Yeah first pitch pop-up was my next guess, followed closely by 3 pitch SO.
  4. I have a feeling Bill Hall is gonna go yard.
  5. 1) Nelson: He seems like he has an idea up there at the very least. I wouldn't be upset if he was on the bench next year. 2) Gwynn: He's an alright 5th outfielder, but he really doesn't excel at anything. Hopefully he's finally traded this offseason. I would have rather had Stocker called up, who is pretty much an automatic SB. 3) Haven't seen him in the field, but he seems overmatched at the plate. His baserunning gaffe was pretty bad as well. 4) You'd have to consider it. But he's probably gonna have to be a very good hitter just to make up for his defense. If we drastically improved the defense on the right side of the infield in the offseason I would say there is a decent chance he's starting sometime next year. 5) I like Stetter. I think he should have been up all year. My confidence in the BP probably goes something like this: Shouse (lefties only), Torres, Villanueva, Mota, .................... Riske, and Gagne.
  6. Only 50 AB's, but he's raking. 1.101 OPS. Maybe he's a late bloomer.
  7. That is a good point. I doubt Loney is a .900 OPS guy, but a .800 - .850 OPS with his defense would be awesome, and a clear upgrade. Colletti seems like he'd be attracted to the Fielder name. All the guys joepepsi listed would be okay with me.
  8. Gwynn is terrible. How do you not beat that out.
  9. Yikes, if Edwin Encarnacion making a diving stab for a DP isn't a sign the sky is falling, I don't know what is.
  10. I've been going back and forth on this whole situation daily. There are decisions to be made at all 4 spots imo. I like Prince; I think he's a very good hitter having a down year, but his body shape and defense are scaring me. Good defense is very underrated at 1B, especially when it comes to diggs. I've come to the conclusion he'll never become even below average at it. If I could get a package of James Loney and Broxton for him, I'd pull the trigger. Hardy has probably been our best overall player this year, which is pretty crazy if you ask me. If he doesn't want to move, he's expendable. Everyone says Escobar's defense is too good to pass up at SS. JJ would bring back a nice player. Weeks and Hall have been huge liabilities. Rickie is clearly a better hitter than Hall, and makes quite a bit less than Bill. Very few want to believe it, but he's been pretty solid for a nice size stretch now, and has gernerally had no luck whatsoever with hits falling in. So I think he's traded to help clear up the jam, and a vet is signed and used as a stopgap.
  11. We get to face Kyle Kendrick on Sunday.
  12. http://lh4.ggpht.com/patrickrbarry/SCe3pgVCvYI/AAAAAAAABvg/cNE2G1ls1tg/s288/Uncle%20Rico%201.jpg Just another day at the office for Bill Hall last night. 0-3 with a BB. Against a RHPer he might as well not swing and just hope for a walk. I can't believe a 28 year old that is very athletic has just begun to fall off a cliff like this. A similar player and story doesn't come to mind.
  13. That may be the biggest travesty of it all. Damn, this is getting ugly.
  14. You bet it does. That may have been the most puzzling call of all tonight.
  15. Ummm strike? You've got to be kidding me.
  16. I think that the ump wants to go home. That 2nd strike was way outside.
  17. Gange actually looked like a major leage pitcher for a couple of batters of there.
  18. Yeah. we're lucky it's not 5-4 right nowClassic.
  19. Oh my god. Gagne is terrible but he sure gets squeezed a lot. Edit: Wow, they were balls. We bettter get those calls.
  20. Let's get some runs. Do we even have a defensive replacement at 2B on the bench?
  21. I get the feeling Bill Hall is just happy to put the ball in play against RHP.
  22. Hmmm. I seem to be different than most here. I'm slightly down in tournament home games, ahead in a small sample in the casino limit cash games (very easy games), so I'm just a little ahead of break-even in a live setting. Online, I am/was a solid winner. I can't take the pace of a live game. Soooo Slow. Online, I used to multi-table it, so anything less is a struggle.
