  1. Ryan was excellent as usual. I thought Creed was at his best last night. I thought they gave him too much screen time last year, but he was great (line about Kelly). Ryan and Jim's exchange was really good. Reminded me of Arrested Development quite a bit.
  2. Very interesting. The Rays could certainly use a SS, and they could resign either Hart or Hardy by clearing Crawford's salary. Maybe substitute Shields for Price. They would probably want to keep Price with him being cheaper and having more upside.
  3. He wasn't getting squeezed. Somone on here posted some stats sometime during May that showed that the reverse was actually true. A lot of his called strikes were actually balls. I think his real problem this year was not being able to throw an off-speed pitch for a strike. Hitters could just sit on his below average fastball. I have no idea why he doesn't throw his curveball more often early in the count. It's almost always a strike, and I don't think I've seen a hitter swing at it all year.
  4. He's certainly pitched better, but it couldn't get much worse. At the end of the day, he's still a junkerballer.
  5. No, they just don't like small samples, which is exactly what "clutch" is.
  6. Thank you Ryan Theriot, you friggin gamer you. (pukes).
  7. Apparently walks do score runs, my friends. Nice, stress-free game after the 4th or so. A rarity these days.
  8. That was truly amazing. How do you miss that call?
  9. It's the perfect excuse, that's for sure.
  10. Man, it sure would of been nice to get at least 1 that last inning.
  11. My 2009 Milwaukee Brewers: Make a fair offer to CC, and if he doesn't accept, let both him and Sheets walk. Let Counsell, Gagne, Mota, Durham via FA. Re-sign Kapler and Branyan to platoon with Bill Hall. Exercise Cameron and Torres' options. Trade: Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Angel Salome, and a low level Pitching Prospect for Zach Greinke and David Dejesus. Corey Hart for Kelly Johnson and Peter Moylan. Sign: Scott Hatteberg to a one-year contract and let Gamel start at 1B in AAA. Reliever(s) coming off a down year. Let go: Doug Melvin and Dale Sveum. Hire Paul DePodesta and a manager that isn't old school. Starting Lineup: Dejesus RF Johnson 2B Cameron CF Braun LF Hardy SS Hatteberg 1B Branyan/Hall 3B Kendall C
  12. I was pretty dissapointed with the first episode, but the second one was classic. I found myself trying not to laugh throughout Friday just thinking about it.
  13. To be fair, that's as well as he's hit a ball all year. But yeah, he's useless.
  14. For anyone that was listening on the radio, was that not the worst rendition of the anthem you have ever heard?
  15. I just want to state that I think it's clear that Jose Reyes is a better baseball player, but one could seriously make the case that Weeks was rushed as well. And you can't dismiss that he has been dogged by hand injuries 3 of his first 4 years. His stats during his rookie year were deflated because the Brewers, for some god forsaken reason, had him playing through a pretty serious thumb injury.
  16. Yeah, it was a bit outside. I'm sure you can tell by Gameday, but the 2nd pitch he swung at was eye level.
  17. Durham's been 'hot' for that period as well. I would have liked to see Rickie get the start last night, but that is moot since we won. If he starts today against Rich Harden, perhaps the worst matchup in the entire league (for him, or any RHB), Dale is an idiot.
  18. Counsell should take offense to that statement. His .342 OBP this year would make Corey blush. Now that SLG % is something Craig might be jealous of. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
