  1. Gagne. I want him to rack up saves so we can get our comp. picks. I think you'd kind of be wasting Mota's value by having him in the closer role. He has the ability to go two innings, and it seems like Ned hates bringing in his closer during the 8th inning.
  2. Brewers 30 Rock Dexter The Office It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Letterman Flip that House is good but I don't know when its set schedule is. Reruns of Seinfeld if nothing else is on.
  3. I wonder if this means Baker will be "one and done". If they don't have a good year, you'd think Jocketty would want to bring in his own guy.
  4. He should. He's "running bad" right now. I think I went with a .252 batting ave with a .380 - .390 OBP in the designated predictions thread. Maybe someone can answer this but where did that thread go with everybody's prediction? Wasn't someone going to average it all together and post it?
  5. It would of been out with warmer weather. Ball wasn't carrying. Otherwise the last time he hit a line drive to right I think would be against the Reds, at home, 4/10. Phillips was shaded up the middle because of the runner at first and made a leaping grab on a rocket. Quite unlucky. When he's seeing the ball good, he definitely has the abililty to hit line drives in the right center gap. The 9th inning homerun off of Lidge last Semptember was an incredible piece of hitting to right field. (The one where Pence crashed into the wall.) 97 on the outside corner and he smoked it.
  6. Two things that a guy as talented as Rickie should not worry about, ever, are his natural born abilities on the field and picking up women. He's blessed with quick hands and a fat wallet. A professional athlete has no reason to lack confidence in the dating area. Otis Nixon is a very ugly dude: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/ChadFinn/08-13-2002-otis.jpg And wound up marrying this: http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/loge/6770/pebbs-2/perri_otis_crop.gif
  7. Yeah Billy looked pretty lost at the plate today. (For the past 3 games actually.) He's playing some good 'D' which is nice, but each game leads me closer to the thought that Billy is best suited in a platoon role. If we could pick up a Blalock our lineup would be pretty stellar. Like someone mentioned in the IGT, I can't believe the guy has 6 HR and 16 RBI.
  8. With the bullpen absolutely gassed, I'm having a well-rested Dave Bush throw 120 pitches regardless of pretty much any result. They need a day off. If we can beat Hamels, it's just a bonus. Just browsing the Phillies stats; Chase Utley is such a beast. 18 XBH already!! Looks like all the Phillies hit Bush pretty hard. Liking our chances Thursday much more.
  9. I was hoping Gwynn would of been healthy to start the season and stayed hot for a little bit so we could have done this kind of deal with him instead of Gabe. I assume this means Gwynn is the longterm answer as the 4th outfielder. That isn't the worst thing in the world considering Chris Magruder filled that role not too long ago.
  10. 4/15: Warning track, right-center against Braden Looper. 3rd at-bat. Caught by Ankiel.
  11. If it weren't for our suprisingly good defense and pitching so far, the slide would already be in effect. It seems like 2 guys are carrying the team for entire series while the other 6 take the series off. It's amazing where our record is. I have no problem with how Yost used Turnbow last nite. We all know the stats show Turnbow is really good starting off an inning when it's not consecutive days. Turnbow just didn't throw his breaking ball for strikes and hitters can tee off on his fastball no matter how fast it is. You'd think there is a chance his days are numbered here. Going with Gagne in a save situation would have borderline insane last nite though. The crowd would have went ballistic if he came out again. Sending him out there for the 5th consecutive day would have been as good a reason as any to fire him.
  12. I think he took the fall for the GM. Paxson has made some bad moves as GM and when things go wrong, the coach is usually the first to go. The Bulls glaring weakness was lack of a top notch scorer. Paxson had a deal on the table with the Lakers for the league's best scorer, Kobe, and he turned it down. Once again, solid move by the senator.
  13. Considering the injury, those may have been fastballs the last inning he threw to strike out Votto.
  14. You forgot Rickie's "ummm's" between every word.
  15. Considering that he is 2nd out of our 4 infielders in .OPS, I'd say Weeks isn't a problem. He's one of the few that have been somewhat consistent getting on base and consistently puts decent at-bats together.
  16. That is as ugly of a win you will ever see, but I'll definitely take it. McClung did look pretty good, but I'd still like to see him sent packing. Just can't trust the guy.
  17. Nice Prince!! So what happened to Corey Hart? They never even showed what happened on FSN.
  18. How the hell does a whole team go on a slump all at once?
  19. I'm with you. Ankiel did us a favor in that at-bat by swinging at a couple of balls. We need to take advantage of that.
  20. Yeah would it kill the ump to at least keep his ridiculous strike zone consistent? That second called strike to Corey was a joke.
  21. Thanks Brewcrewin. But yeah this strikezone is incredibly small.
  22. Man Lohse got behind and threw some really hittable fastballs that inning.
  23. It's kinda funny that Hardy says he doesn't like hitting in the 7 spot. It's the same thing as the 8 spot, which he said he loved hitting in last year. JJ's gotta make up his mind.
