You're going to get on McGehee for making an out in a 7-1 game after he hit a 2-run homer in his previous AB?Going into tonight Casey had an OPS of .849 in August but people are still going to rip him because he isnt Taylor Greene. He is playing good baseball lately. Unlike when Yuni did it one can think Casey might be turning stuff around since he has been pretty good the past few years -

Greinke is just a better and younger pitcher than Lackey was when Lackey got that deal. Greinke is 5 years younger than Lackey and Lackey signed with Boston 2 years ago. A.J. Burnett was a guy who was consistently hurt and showed up big a couple years but had at least 2 years older than Greinke would be when he signed. Zambrano might be the closest comparison but Zambrano's arm did not let him down as much as his head did -

A team like the Yankees could sign Fielder and just eat the contract of one of those older veterans or try to trade them. If the Yankees decide they need Prince to have the best offense in baseball they will look at him. I dont think Andruw Jones or Jorge Posada are enough to keep the Yankees from drooling over Prince batting in a lineup with Granderson, Arod, and Tex -
That top 3 would be my top 3 as well. Although I didnt cry when Phil won the Masters I did get really excited. Sanders and Molitor would probably round out my top 5

It was nice but he has to keep his pitch count down somehow. Yo is the king of 0 run but high pitch count innings

Road WOAAHS. When is it no longer 'bad luck'?

We have now won 12 of our last 17 road games. We are now 28-36 on the road which is not great but is a marked improvement. We are now have a better record than 10 other teams on the road. -
21 of our last 25 and a win tomorrow would make it 22 of 25.

Nick Bucci with a great outing but no win to show for it. 7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 BB and 7 Ks. I was never as sold on him as some others were, but it is looking like I was wrong. He just turned 21 and his K rate has gotten much better the past few games. Our pitching depth is starting to look a lot better. Peralta looks great. Thornburg just needs to cut down on the walks but I really like him as a prospect. Jungmann and Bradley will help the depth as well. Then you have Bucci. Friers is an interesting prospect. Scarpetta and Heckathorn have some potential as well.

I agree. I love Lucroy's approach. Looks so collected up there. Outside of Braun's at bat that 9th inning had a lot of solid at bats

Big RBI walk in todays game. It is probably irrational but I have a ton of confidence with Kotsay up and runners in scoring position.

Everyone contributes. Fielder, Braun and Yuni with homers. Casey with the big two RBI hit. Kotsay, Luc, and Morgan draw big walks - nice job from the bench today!

This game is the prime example of why this team is so much different than years past. Those past couple innings would have broken the prior teams (like it did some on this board) but this years team just thinks they can win every game. Fun to watch.
