  1. I dont have a good feeling about this inning. Wolf has gotten very lucky thus far and walking the lead off man is never good
  2. The Pirates just put up more runs in 3 innings against the Cards than they did the whole Brewers series
  3. I agree. The have too much talent to be this bad. Lilly really seems to be struggling lately as has Billingsly. I am okay with Greinke going against someone other than Kershaw because I like being favored in 3 out of the 4 games. With Wolf pitching better than Lilly lately, Greinke and Gallardo being better than their counterparts I like those first three match ups. Then just hope Estrade has another great game in him and we can scratch a couple runs off Kershaw. Even though it is a home series 2-2 would be okay in my mind, but winning all these games lately has made 3-1 seem like a good bet.
  4. I dont think anyone is saying RR is the complete difference for why this team has more wins than last. We are just saying some on this board act like he has no clue how to manage yet he has a team on pace to equal or eclipse even the most optimistic projections. I posted a link in another thread that this board on average expected the Brewers to win 88-90 wins. At 70-51 they have 41 games left. If they go 21-20 they are a 91 win team. BP has them projected to go 23-18 down the stretch which has them at 93 wins. RR has to get at least a little credit for this right?
  5. Nothing about last years team looked carefree. They looked lifeless.
  6. Oddly enough there was a ton of venting about Gamel being called up and only being a bench player a couple years back. The idea was that a prospect should not sit the bench but should get consistent playing time in AAA. Gamel has been a bench player a couple times and the last time he had very little success
  7. Well we dont have murder's row coming up but here's to pushing one across
  8. This. I have almost left this board a couple times recently because of the incessant complaining by some. My previous comment about Prince is only added to by his error but unlike his lack of hitting his poor defense is Prince-like
  9. Prince has been really anti-Prince today. He has had at least 5 guys on today and hasn't produce any runs. I guess even Prince has bad days but I am just not used to it
  10. I am wondering if there is something wrong with Corey. Roenicke is willing to pinch hit Lopez but he goes with Casey. I guess you can shift Counsell over to 2B
  11. What prospects have we traded for since DM became GM?Chad Petty, Noochie Varner, Wes Obemueller, Alejandro Machado, Greg Bruso, Mike Crudale, Overbay, Cappy, Moeller, De La Rosa, Villanueva, Glenn Woolard, ect. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/11/gm-trade-histor.html Here is the whole list. Its way too long to type here.Almost all those trades were before this team was competitive. Since they have become a playoff contender he has definitely not been one to trade for prospects. Even the Carlos Lee trade was for major leaguers.
  12. There was talk of Green being more of a 3B than a 2B. I dont know if it was Tom H or someone else but it sounded like the Brewers viewed Green as 3B and an occasional spot start at 2B but that is it.
  13. Hairston getting the start at 2nd should make some people happy.
  14. I thought one actual benefit to living in Minnesota instead of Iowa would be getting to watch more Packers and an occasional Brewer game, but not nope
  15. This. Roenicke is not a perfect manager but he is a great fit for this team. As to the underachieving or overachieving debate I found the thread predicting our record from the beginning of the year. At the beginning of the year 70% this board was predicting the Crew to win 88-92. Only 12% said they would win more and 18% said they would win less. At 68-51 .500 ball the rest of the way would put us at 89 or 90 wins right about what everyone was predicting. 92 or more wins is definitely attainable and the team has done a great job overcoming the Weeks injury and playing solid ball on the road lately.
  16. If you watch the game highlights on MLB it is there but I did not see the bullpen reaction.
  17. Brantley has played more LF than CF this year and I remember reading he was not much of a CFer. If that is true could you imagine him out there with Hart and Braun!
  18. What prospects have we traded for since DM became GM?
  19. Other thing to remember about Cruz is he was DFA assignment by Texas after they got him. Everyone missed on him
  20. IF we get both Rodon and McFarland I love our draft this year. After what I read right away I thought both were longshots but I like what I am reading. Money talks and hopefully we offer enough to get them into the fold.
  21. I agree he COULD and probably will be good. My main is issue is when poster are acting like we gave up a for sure all-star. It is too hard to predict. Jason Heyward was supposed to be a star this year and he has done very little. I would love to still have Lawrie, although I do question how legitimate his power is but you are right he definitely is bigger. But if he doesnt become a 30 HR and sits more around 20-25 and has to move to a corner OF position did we lose a huge piece to the puzzle? I dont want to act like what he has done this year isn't impressive because it is, but there are certain things like past history, his AAA league being extremely hitter friendly, and a very high BABIP that makes me think his numbers are a little inflated this year. He could easily prove me wrong though.
  22. I know he isnt good but it is odd to call out a guy who is 3-4 tonight
  23. Well I think we just need an error in CF than every position has made an error recently. Maybe Casey has not
  24. He has now given up 8 baserunners in 3.1 innings. He is definitely not cruising No, I said he was cruising at Miller Park. Tonight I said his breaking ball is really good so it's getting him big outs.Sorry misread. I thought you meant he was cruising like he was at Miller Park.
