  1. I hope you are right. I want CC here by his next start no need him racking up innings for a team he isnt going to stay with. Every start he misses decreases his value just a little bit. What I like after looking at CC's stats is the relief who could bring the bullpen.
  2. Maddux does come some questions. He has been rocked his last two starts. Before that he went 7 straight starts giving up 2 runs or less, although 2 of those starts only went around 5 innings
  3. good point. I seem to forget about the draft picks quite often. I guess I just dont like giving up prospects. I probably could be won over on the LaPorta, Green, Axford trade.
  4. Prince did not ask to be traded like Hall did. That is the reason Hall got booed (not that I agree with it). I don't think he got booed before that. Turnbow and Gagne are good examples though.
  5. Fans will always make crazy trade offers but I think the Cleveland management is making a mistake to not take an offer of Green and LaPorta. I dont really like the deal that much for the Brewers because I think the LaPorta is enough alone with maybe an A-ball pitcher not named Jeffress
  6. Looks like we are going need a fair amount more than 2 runs to win tonight. Edit - maybe not if Sheets keeps escaping like that. His pitch count is up there though so that bullpen that just blew a 5 run lead better bounce back
  7. That steal makes no sense. Hopefully Prince can break out of his slump here.
  8. Espn had 32 baseball analyst pick who they thought should be in the all-star game. Braun was the highest vote getter for NL OF. He had 19 votes (He also got one vote for the DH), Burrell had 16 and Ludwich had 15. The current top 3 vote getters each had one vote. Who voted for Griffey? Link
  9. I think the Indians will come back to accepting that deal. It is a really good deal for them and more than I would like to give up. I dont see them getting anything more than that. No way we trade Hardy or Escobar in my mind. Why would we want a guy like Marte who has not been good for the past two years?
  10. Okay that makes sense. He does get ahead in the count a lot, so that would make sense teams would start swinging early in counts.
  11. What plan of attack are you referring to? He has been pitching really well lately outside of the Twins game.
  12. It is going to be tougher for Prince to break out with us facing 3 lefties over the next 3 days. He has hit a handful over homers off LHP (6) but is batting just .213
  13. Okay, lets look at his numbers the past two years. He has had an ERA of 3.21 and a WHIP of 1.15. Those are great numbers over 2 years, especially in the AL. You can look at career numbers but what does what he did 3 and 4 years ago matter.
  14. C.C.'s ERA is bloated from a bad first month. In his last month he has 5 starts, is 3-0, a 1.80 ERA, with 41 K's, 6BB, and only 27 hits in 40 innings (that is a WHIP well under 1). I think that is a marked improvement from dave bush and it will help our bullpen a ton because he is averaging 8 innings a start over those 5. I struggle with dealing LaPorta because I think he will be very good, but CC will definitely help this team.
  15. I don't know if this has been talked about but who is the first guy who gets pushed out of the rotation? McClung has been better overall and has done nothing to lose his spot. Bush has had some great games and some bad ones. Suppan is hitting a real rough patch as well. I think Suppan is safe for sure. That leaves McClung and Bush. I would have to say Bush is the first to go just because McClung with the exception of one start has done everything asked of him. Now he has been playing with fire, giving up too many walks and hits, but he is getting the job done. What are other people's thoughts?
  16. That has to be the worst rumor yet. My guess is they just put together every player they had heard rumored together in one trade and then heard the brewers would want relief pitching if the deal was too lopsided for Cleveland so they added the RP. Thats funny because some guy said Tom H said the Brewers offer was LaPorta, Green and maybe a low level pitcher for CC. That means we are giving Escobar for a reliever who is average
  17. Waking up to this is rough to say the least. I dont like the idea of dealing Gamel or LaPorta, but to put Escobar in the deal is just crazy. Even though I would not like it I would be okay with a LaPorta for CC straight up trade but adding Escobar reeks of a desperation trade and those do not work out well in the long term. Please let Rosenthal be wrong like he has been so many other times.
  18. How about Fuentes from Colorado? He has been talked about by a lot of people on this board and he is definitely available.
  19. How about CC and then Fuentes? That would be a dream trade deadline for me
  20. I am with you. My work has me in Florida for the summer. I need to be there at 8 tomorrow morning. That is going to be rough
  21. Marmol has had a rough last month. Is all that early season use wearing him down already? I love Torres. Even when he is a little off he gets the job done. What a great trade that was Mr Melvin
  22. wow that stinks. What a play. Dillion ripped that ball, but Young made up ground in a hurry.
  23. Fielder has got to catch that. I know it one hopped him but that is a play most first baseman make. It was not a good throw but Prince really struggles with digging the ball
  24. I agree with on this to a point. How many more teams do you really think are in the running for CC? With Santana it was about payroll size with CC it is about quality in the farm system. The Brewers and Rays are head and shoulders above the other competition I have heard about. Unless a team like the Cubs who dont have a lot of top end prospects give up something crazy. The Red Sox could get in the mix and then they would have a lot of trading chips with their young pitching. The Yankees dont seem to have a ton. The Dodgers are rumored and could put some decent guys out there. The reality is there is not a huge pool of teams vying for his services. Maybe two more than were vying for Santana. While that may drive the cost up some it shouldn't make it crazy. Some of the teams rumored will drop out and go after Burnett or someone else, and then one darkhorse might emerge. I just dont think it will become a huge bidding war. Edit - I forgot the Phillies and I have no idea what they have in terms of prospects. If they do have top-end prospects and Boston and Tampa (who has been rumored to not be in the mix) get in the mix then the price will jump. However, if Boston decides their fine our they won't part with their young pitching, and Tampa decides a big bat is more important then I think the Brewers can get a good deal.
  25. In my mind there is no way you give up one of the Huntsville guys and Jeffress. Jeffress is more than likely the 3rd highest rated prospect on this team in terms of upside at least top 4. Keep in mind the Linebrink guys were guys we liked but outside of Inman nowhere near top guys. Garrison had just started to blossom and Thatcher was an older prospect.
