Even with the rough stretch we recently had the Brewers own the 3rd best record in the NL. They are only 3 games back of the Braves.

Interesting. I tried to watch some of LMS and found it really hard to watch. Jokes felt forced most of the time. Must just not be my type of show

Late to this thread and fairly new to Milwaukee. We have really enjoyed Fixture Pizza in Walkers Point and Pizzeria Scotty in West Allis. We have tried quite few others but those two are at the top of our list currently. WyEast in Tosa is pretty solid as well

Yep. A lot of prospects flash at first. Look at the guys in the Yelich trade. Yamamoto came crashing back to earth. Diaz had a nice first game and has struggled a ton after that. Dubon doesnt walk enough to sustain super good hitting numbers. That will have to change. Wish the kid the best but I am not losing any sleep over him

Dubon's power has been the key. He has 3 hr but he doesn't walk at all. On the otherhand he doesn't strikeout at all either. Will be interesting to follow. His numbers will fluctuate a ton being a small sample. Ops is down to 781 after a rough night.

Next week we should get to see all these kids but Harrison. Harrison was injured late in the AAA season so he didn't get a call up. I guess maybe he still could. Diaz has really struggled in the majors. Yamamoto has scuffed since his hot start. Brinson is putting up similar number to what he did in the past. It will be fun to see all of them out there though

I feel like there is a fairly decent shot that Diaz becomes the only guy I wish we wouldn't have let get away. Brinson seems like a AAAA type guys. Yamamoto has come back to earth and his stuff just doesn't seem good enough to be a guy I really miss. Harrison strikes out a third of his at bats in AAA so I am not expecting a ton there. He could figure it out though

Overall I think the only people who should be really frustrated with this deadline is people who thought the Brewers should be very aggressive buyers or sellers. They didnt have the ammo though to be really aggressive buyers. People look at the prospects in certain trades and say "these guys were only the 3rd and 5th best guys in so and so's system. We should have beat that." The problem is our 3rd and 5th are probably those teams 10th and 12th. Our farm system just didnt have the pieces to be super aggressive. Those who wanted to aggressively sell had to recognize a team 1 game out of the playoffs (both division and wild card) wasnt going to do that. They ended up doing what most people wanted - making small moves that dont mortgage the future and get a couple controllable players. These werent trades that make huge headlines but after what we saw last night they can really help a team be more competitive.

He's no Jordan Yamamoto though. Speaking Yamamoto the hype has slowed a bit as he has struggled his last three starts. Walking too many guys. He isn't giving up many hits though

Yelich now leads the nl in batting average, ops, stolen bases (tied) and home runs. He also is in striking distance of rbis runs. All that to say, many thought the second half he had last year was not sustainable, and justifiably so, but he just continues to rake. He is such a complete hitter. His worst month of the year still had an Ops of 935! His other three months are 1.149 or higher

I thought it was easily the best Spiderman film to date. Cinemascore seems to agree. Definitely can tell they were trying to lighten the mood after Endgame. Edit: I take that back, Spiderverse was exceptional, but still thought this was great. Agreed. Thought it was a lot of fun. Not sure if it was my favorite but Tom Holland is so much better as Spiderman than Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield. He is perfect for the part. Thought it had good twists as well

Yamamoto with his worst start of his mlb career the other night. He still isnt get hit much and is striking guys out but walks are his problem. The reports I read are that he doesn't have top end stuff so he relies on hitting corners. He is probably nibbling too much. The question is if he starts leaving balls over the plate will the hits start coming in bunches. Diaz got on another hot streak to end the month of June. He could be a solid player. Harrison has a nice hit streak going. He continues to strikeout at least once a game. I just don't know if that translates well going forward.

Were people really expecting all the guys we traded to the Marlins to flop? Right now Brinson looks like a AAAA type player, Harrison strikes out way too much but has potential, Diaz is impressive but has come back to earth a bit and then Yamamoto has been terrific in the majors. The Brewers got an MVP level player and at a crazy low salary. Lets get a little real on Yamamoto right now. His BABIP against is .167 which would be a full .100 ahead most of the nearest eligible pitchers. That will regress to the mean some but he still looks like an exciting prospect for the Marlins and would be nice to have in our current rotation

That's just not gonna fly. It has be horrible for one of the teams and fodder for getting that GM fired. Not sure when NYChez's post was from but he has some points. Yamamoto just had a great first start. Will be interesting to see where he goes. Harrison is sporting a nice .860 OPS but is also striking out 1/3 of the times. I think to say he is exceeding expectations is strong since he went from being ranking as a prospect to now to being ranked and likely being borderline top 100. Diaz has seen a power surge this year. if that is for real he is a really good prospect. He doesnt strikeout a ton. He hasnt been very good since 2016 but he looks to have turned the corner. IF (and this is a big IF) Yamamoto becomes a solid middle of the rotation starter, Diaz becomes the starting everyday 2b and one of harrison or brinson (this is where I am the least solid) become a solid starting OF then the Marlins did alright. I say alright because imagine what the Brewers could get for Yelich right now..

Yelich has Báez at least matched on #4. Maybe their personalities are different, but if watching Yelich isn't flat-out exciting, then I don't know how to baseball anymore. While I completely agree Baez gets publicity for his excitement. There are numerous articles out there about him being the most exciting player and for his celebrations. It shouldnt matter but neither should him being from a big market team but I think both might. I am about as big of Yelich fan as you can find and think he should win because right now outside of Baez being able to play SS he really doesnt have much over Yelich - similar home runs and stolen bases. Only really RBIs but Yelich has been batting 1 or 2 a lot of the year so that makes sense. The fact that Yelich is leading the league in BA and OPS is crazy

With the Carpenter slipping a lot and the Dbacks looking like they will miss the playoffs I get the feeling it is Yelich vs Baez. Yelich has a better offensive profile. Baez plays a more premium position. Should be interesting.

You forget Baez has a few things going for him. Some legitimate some not 1. He is doing it as an infielder who plays multiple positions. 2. He has a very slight lead in WAR, home runs and RBIs 3. He plays for Chicago 4. He is exciting to watch I dont think 3 or 4 should matter but they will. Really number 2 is a wash almost. Especially when you factor in yelich's commanding lead in ops and all those stats. 1 is legitimate but I think Yelich has covered a ton of ground. In mind it would hard not to give it to the guy who leads in batting average and ops if that happens.

Yeah, that was high quality January baseball reading right there. Hot takes just flying. Obviously there were people who loved the deal, and people who hated it. Hopefully those who hated it, or were extremely upset by the prospects we gave up, have come around. Yelich truly has proven to be a special player. I cant imagine anyone disliking the deal now. Look at this way. We could (but definitely wont) trade Yelich this offseason and get a much better return than what we gave up and we would have had a year of Yelich. It seems like DS and his staff knew which players to sell high on in this deal. Yelich has been so much fun to watch. We are looking at a guy who should have a batting average above .300, hit 30 hrs and steal 20 bases while sporting .380 plus obp. That isnt a very common stat line. I think Baez will win MVP but Yelich will be right there. Crazy to even try to pick between he and Cain right now

Yelich is currently making a run at the NL batting title. His .314 average is right there with Freeman at .319. So in the NL he is top 5 in batting average, top 10 in OBP, top 15 in slugging which leads to top 10 in OPS - including now the top OF, while being top 15 in steals. That is an incredibly great line.

Yelich is now second behind only Matt Kemp for ops among qualified OFers in the NL. Add in his steals too I am not sure what else we could want. Anyone who watches him can see how pure his swing is. He has great at bats, worst the count, and hits the ball very hard. A few too many ground balls maybe but all in all it is hard to be disappointed

Yeah well no offense to BF but a lot of the proposals on here tend to not be very realistic. As I said elsewhere in this thread, getting 5 years of Yelich for just two Baseball America Top 100 prospects, only one of which is a Top 50 prospect, is incredible. It's certainly not an overpay. BA rankings are a good way of stepping back to get objective value on players who we as Brewers fans are overfamiliar with and thus overvalue. Agreed. When brewerfan poster proposal are your barometer you will always think we lost a trade. Every fan base overvalues their own prospects/players and undervalues other teams'
