  1. Tomorrow wont matter. It has been said before the committee has their brackets done before the finale of the Big Ten tourney. Where we are now is where we will be
  2. Good sign for the Badger in terms of seeding. There was an interview on CBS with the head of seeding for the NCAA and he said that he looked at RPI and Kenpom and if there was a large difference he looks at the team more closely. You would think that would be good for the Badgers since they are crazily low in RPI 34 and really high in Kenpom 9. If you explore the Badger's resume you see a very good resume. They know have wins over Indiana (2), Michigan (2), OSU. You wont find many teams with 5 wins like that. 13-9 vs RPI top 100, 8-7 vs RPI top 50, 5-5 vs RPI top 25, and one loss outside RPI 100.
  3. RPI is not the end all be all. Wisconsin has a really good resume. There is a site that averages every bracket out there and Wisconsin is a solid 5 seed as of today. Minnesota has a much better RPI than Wisconsin but there is no one who believes those teams are close. Belmony has an RPI of 18
  4. I agree on UW. They always get picked against. Marquette was getting a lot of love before the Big East tourney so I would surprised if they are a sexy pick to lose. They were winning games down the stretch. They were top 12 in a lot of the power rankings
  5. They definitely wont drop lower than a 5. It depends on what teams do the next couple days. I would say they are a 4 as of now but if teams like Wisconsin, Cuse, Oklahoma St, Arizona and others do. If a few of those teams win Marquette will likely be a 5 seed. The one thing hurting Marquette is their road/neutral court record. I think they only have one road/neutral court win against a tournament team but have 8 road/neutral court losses. They are 1-7 vs tournament level teams in that situation. That could knock them down a bit. Compare that to the Badgers who are 3-5 and if they get a win today would bump that up a little more. Even with that one issue I still think they end up as a 4 seed
  6. Yeah I am not a Marquette fan but I think he should have won although Thompson did a great job as well. Easily the two best coaching jobs in the BE
  7. Evans should play the 4. He should also realize he is the 4th best option on the court offensively. If he just played defense and rebounded they would be better off. Slide Dekker into the 3. His defense needs work but he can score. Bo is extremely loyal so it wont happen, but I would like to see Bruiser stay the starter but sub out at the first media timeout and then return to spell Evans or Dekker when needed
  8. I am torn. I have been told by someone on this board I cant believe Braun and am just digging a whole but I now have an actual lawyer saying Braun's story is very plausible. Obviously, her article doesnt exonerate Braun, but if Braun can produce documents to back up his story then he is in good shape. Now public opinion will still bash him but if he can back up his statement there is no reason not to believe him
  9. So if Braun spent that much either he had a heck of tab, was stock piling for the future or was dealing to other players
  10. Buying PEDs isn't exactly something you put on your Visa card. Those of you that are defending Ryan Braun are digging yourselves as big of a hole as Braun is in himself. I admire your creativity though. It is fine to think he is guilty but please dont insult people who dont agree with you. You come off as acting like you are smarter and able to look at this objectively whereas others are not.
  11. Man if he is lying that is a really impressive because it is a very believable story.
  12. http://tracking.si.com/2013/02/06/brewers-ryan-braun-name-shows-up-in-clinic-records/?sct=hp_t2_a10&eref=sihp So he is linked to the clinic but not to PEDs in the same report that links other people directly to PEDs. Am I reading that correctly> It does indicate he owed Bosch 20-30K. Those would be some pretty expensive vitimins. Ahh. That doesnt seem good

  14. Coulter most definitely has upside.
  15. The fun thing is his defense has already gotten a lot better. He has terrific instincts. He just needs to get a little stronger. On the offensive end he is going to be really special. He shot is great. He is tall enough to get it off whenever he wants. In transition he is silky smooth. He has great vision. It is fun watching his passing. I cant wait to see him and Koenig on the court together in a year or two as Bronson may have the best vision I have ever seen in a high school kid. Dekker as plays the boards pretty well. I completely agree he will be the best or second best (devin harris) player Ryan ever coaches. He is their best offensive player right now and once the seniors graduate the offense will run through him next year.
  16. Yeah if the seniors would start playing well on offense they'd really have something. I think I read somewhere that the three of them combined have shot like 30% the last three games. Yeah they play really good defense but their offensive numbers are brutal. I think Dekker is right on par with Evans for points in conference games but Evans plays about 10-12 minutes more per game and puts up twice as many shots. Berggren is slumping really badly. Looks like he has no confidence. It is crazy to say they cant make free throws, they are turning it over too much, their seniors are horrible on offense right now, and their pg play is erratic and yet they are still 5-2 in the conference
  17. Huge, albeit ugly, win for the Badgers today. Good to send the neighbors to the West reeling and to pick up a much needed win. Dekker and Marshall have looked pretty solid for first year guys and T. Jackson has no fear (although at times he probably should). Their seniors are really the one's letting this team down. Berggren has been non-existent lately, Evans can hit a free throw to save his life, and Bruiser is what he is. But they are 5-2 in the best conference in the country so I cant complain too much
  18. Exactly. My only question with the trade is did we get the best pitcher back we possibly could have received. Outside of that I am fine trading Lawrie. There was a thread in the minor league forum that look at how many top prospects from 2006 busted, There are zero guarantees with anything. No idea what Lawrie will show up going forward, but we do know Marcum was a huge reason we almost made a world series which was a great ride! Yay! We got to try out being a real club for one season! Obviously I was never a fan of the Marcum-Lawrie trade. I'm also not a fan of the 'go for it once every five seasons' team-building approach. It would be nice to see the Brewers develop a long-term plan, but it's just not happening under Melvin. I'm sure it's not going to be too well-received, but I would gladly trade making one LCS for a better long-term approach. Imo what Melvin's legacy is going to be once he's gone is that he wasted Ryan Braun's prime/career. And so far how would have Lawrie would have helped Braun's career? It simplistic to say this team went for broke once every five seasons. They made it in 2008 (with a trade that still looks good in my mind), and they made it in 2011. Last year easily could have been another playoff year but the bullpen fell apart. This is a team that in the last 5 years has made the playoffs twice, been in solid contention another time, and was right about .500 one other season. Next year could be rough with our starting pitching. I just dont feel like the future was mortgaged like you seem to think it was.

  20. I would have liked to get a pitcher we could have under control longer than Marcum but we didnt. But the love affair with Lawrie on this board is over the top some times. He may turn out to be a stud, but last season he was below average with the bat for a 3B and his numbers where actually very similar to his first year in the minors. He hit a ton in 2011 both in the minors and his call-up but his other three season he has looked much more pedestrian than hall of fame at the plate. I know he is young and could grow into hitting for power. Of all the guys we traded Odorizzi is the only one that I really worry about. Maybe it is Lawrie's attitude that sours my opinion of him but on a purely numbers basis he wasnt much last year at the plate
  21. I agree. Ellis is the one I want to trade. Well I want to go and redo the Bogut trade but that probably cant happen. There is going to be some playoff/fringe team desperate for scoring and Ellis will fill that role. I just dont think our front office would do it
  22. There have been rape stories at other Universities that have been swept under the rug as well. They are handled "in house" or ignored. One newspaper might run a story and stuff is usually dug up and the university admits to mishandling the situation. I dont think sports media wants to run these stories. They dont sell. It is sad but true.
  23. I dont get the sense Looney is staying in the state of Wisconsin. Everything makes it sound like he is going to one of the big boys. I am wondering if Tokoto is starting to wish he would have stayed home. Limited playing time and we all know UNC will recruit a lot more top guys at his same position. I wish him the best but that is a tough place to get playing time with who they recruit
  24. I dont even know if I would call losing at Iowa a letdown game. Iowa lost by 4 and 3 at home against Indiana and MSU. they got crushed on the road against Michigan and crushed Northwestern on the road. They will knock off some teams in conference play and i wouldnt be shocked if the Badgers were one of those teams. Iowa swept them last year. I am glad Bucky played a Tuesday game because they have a good amount of time to get refocused on Iowa!
  25. I dont think they need to stay within ten to have what it takes to make the dance. I do think staying with in ten would show they are team that could potentially win a couple in the dance
