    Right there with you! I will be a new dad in anywhere from 1 day to two weeks! Got the motorola video monitor at target with baby shower gift cards and the set up was easy. The picture looks good and seems to pick up sound well. I am not sure how it actually works in practice though! We had a lot of people recommend Baby Wise and they swear by the book. My wife read it and she took a lot from it.

    I just watched Les Miserables. After seeing Sally Field's performance in Lincoln and now Hathaway there is no way was Field should win this award. Hathaway's performance was so much better. Both Les Miserables and Lincoln have the feel of Oscar movie. Argo was very good as well but I would be surprised to see it beat the other two. I hope to see Zero Dark Thirty sometime soon but I dont know if I will get a chance

    I havent seen Zero Dark Thirty but two of the biggest snubs seem to be Ben Affleck (Argo) and Kathryn Bigelow (ZDT) not getting best director nods.

    I have only seen Argo and Lincoln on your list. I will see Les Miserables soon. Argo and Lincoln are locks for best picture in my mind. Daniel Day-Lewis should be a lock for a best actor nod. I think Skyfall or the Dark Knight Rises gets in but I would be surprised to see both. My guess is Skyfall since it just got reported they are doing a big Bond tribute at this years Oscars

    Really? They dont show a lot but they show a lot more than the Ipad mini commercials with that girl singing to her grandpa and the piano. The Surface ones highlight the cover keyboard. I dont think apple has had a good marketing campaign since the mac vs pc ones. Microsoft may never have had good ones. I cant remember them anyway.

    We probably would have purchased the surface if it was $100-$150 cheaper. I really like it when I was able to use it. I like the size and the keyboard more than the docking station my brother has for his Ipad. The size seemed to space the keys out better and made it easy to use. The cost was just too much so we decided against a 10 inch tablet at this time

    Lincoln was very good. Lewis should win an Oscar for that. Argo was very good.

    I understand that but I just dont think Fielder or Braun is the right answer. It is Braun. He is the better player.

    Fielder is a hit but when he says Fielder should be the number 1 prospect or Braun I disagree. It is Braun hands down. Braun has a had a better WAR. If you want to break it down into specific stats Braun is a better defender, better base stealer, has a better career OPS (while 30 points higher in slugging). I think Prince is a very good player but he simply isnt as good as Braun

    The need for internet wouldnt be too terrible for me if it is a second device for a family. It could not be a primary device but since I work on a college campus or from home 95% of the time the need for internet isnt a huge issue. The lack of privacy is a concern. I like Google Drive so it would be useful there but I am just not sure if it is worth it. My brother who is a Mac guy actually is really interested in it and talks very highly of his hands on time with it.

    My boss got a 10 inch tablet thinking he was going to use it as his primary laptop but watching him type on the keyboard I could tell it wouldnt last long. 6 month later he was buying a new laptop as well and now his tablet is not really being used. Some people really justify a 10 inch tablet but there are others who buy and use them simply to read books and go online and it just doesnt seem like a good purchase to me. They extra screen size is nice over a 7 inch but price, the easier portability and even how it fits into the hand make the 7 inch a great purchase for many.

    We actually looked at moving from a tradition laptop to a tablet for my wife but she does enough typing that she just didnt like the small keyboard/docking station of a tablet. She liked the full keyboard. She went with Asus' new touchscreen laptop. It is still small but the extra inches on the keyboard spaces stuff out more to her liking. It was actually cheaper than tablets but is extremely light. One of my friends is going to get the twist laptops that are coming out and I looking forward to trying that out

    Typing this from my Nexus 7. I love it. If I was iPhone/Mac user I probably would get an iPad but I am not. The Nexus does everything I want and the cost is amazing! A lot of my friends who have 10 inch tablets use them for the exact same things I use the 7 inch tablet for. I just don't know anyone who uses a tablet as as a primary. I am sure there are a lot people who do but when I use them they seem like a very useful toy but not a primary device.

    MU could very well be a #1 or #2 next year. In the country or in the conference? No way they are a number one in the country type team. They will need a pg and big man if Otule doesnt get a 6th year. Even if he does someone wont be able to come back because they wont have enough schollies. Blue, Gardner, Wilson is nice but not elite. they have a very nice incoming class but that is a lot to ask for freshman I see that you meant number 1 or 2 seed and there is no way I see that either, but I guess if the freshman are even better than advertised there is a chance that could be a top 15 type team

    Exactly. Getting true marquee wins will be tough in this conference because there probably wont be a lot of top 10 teams. Like you said even a SEC that lacks depth will probably have 2 top 10 teams each year. That will hurt the conference quite a bit in my mind. There are also reports that Georgetown is balking at the idea right now and if they get a big conference to let them in as a basketball only school then that would be a huge hit

    I would do that deal for Gallardo in a heartbeat. If the Cubs get Sanchez for that it is nice deal. I know his numbers are nice but for whatever reason I dont flip over Sanchez as a top end starter, but everything say I am wrong

    I am not sure on the Big 12 going forward. Kansas is elite. Kansas St is typically a solid team. Texas isnt going to stay down for long. Iowa State is on the rise with Hoiberg. Baylor has been a solid (albeit shady) program lately. West Virginia is a consistent tourney team. That is going to be a better basketball conference than people think. SEC has Kentucky, Missouri and Florida. That is three top end teams but after that they dont have much. The issue with the new conference for Marquette is that St Johns is not what it once was, Providence isnt very good, DePaul is awful, and Seton Hall isnt very good. Nova is even down right now. Creighton is a nice school but they have made it past the first weekend of the NCAA's one time since the 70's and players like Doug McDermott dont get there often. Xavier is a consistent top 25 team. Butler is a solid team obviously (minus a rough year last year), and that leaves Marquette and Georgetown. It is a conference where teams either lack tradition but have been good lately or have tradition but havent been good lately outside of a few schools. I just think some people are overselling the strength of the proposed new conference This is a nice move for Marquette but it is a significant step down from the Big East of days past

    If the 7 schools add Xavier, Butler, and Creighton as advertised it will be a solid conference but nothing like the Big East at its peak. Of the 10 talked about schools only 2 are currently ranked in the top 25 and 2 more are receiving votes. It is good but not elite conference. It does have nice depth with only a couple mediocre to bad teams, but it doesnt have year in year out top 15 talent. Georgetown would be the closest thing.

    Well I hope they prove my pessimistic p.o.v. wrong. I'd love to see a roster loaded with good athletes. Koenig and Dekker will be a very good combo. Hayes looks like the real deal. Brown is a little more of an unknown. Bo isnt recruiting a ton of tall guys anymore so i am wondering if he is moving toward a smaller lineup where the center is more of 6'9 type guy

    Wisconsin and Marquette got in the game late. He had built up a great relationship with Hoiberg and ISU pulled out all the stops. Wisconsin was considered to be in his final 3 but ISU was the clear leader. I think he thought his game resembled Hoiberg and Fred would develop him well. He wasnt a Badger or Marquette fan growing up either so he didnt have much loyalty for either team.

    Kaminsky's problem is he is too soft and he cannot play at the same time as Berggren. This year's team is being held back by poor pg and sg play (gasser loss was huge) and Ryan Evans reverting to sophomore year Ryan Evans. He has been brutal.

    Except the next class may be his best with some very good players like Koenig, Nigel Hayes, and Vito Brown to go with Dekker.

    Interesting that he said he only sees Odorizzi as a number 3 starter.
