  1. 2010 - 9th best OPS of all OF in MLB 2011 - 15th best OPS of all OF in MLB 2012 - 28th He is not overrated by people here. I am not a huge Hart fan but you are under-selling him for sure
  2. Hart is better than middle of the road Weeks is just having a terrible year that contract was not a bad one Wolf has been bad this year but was instrumental in us making the playoffs last season Ramirez had a terrible start but is now approaching an OPS of .800. One can assume he will continue see his numbers will continue to rise. KRod I can agree with. I thought he was lucky to put up the numbers he did last year. He is so frustrating So we have Prince and CC locked up but how bad with this lineup look without Ramirez and Hart? The rotation would be great but the bullpen would not be good.
  3. That is a good point and i would be interested to hear the thought process behind it as well
  4. Bringing this thread back to Marcum, I wonder if people would be more excited to sign him had we not got burned so bad by Suppan. Outside of velocity there are very few similarities. Marcum continues to be a really good pitcher. His ERA is now around 3.3. He has been very, very good for us outside of a terrible post-season. At the beginning of this year I felt like I was going to regret the trade but at this point it still looks good for the Brewers. Lawrie is making his power numbers from last year seem a little bit like a fluke, while Marcum continues be a top 20 pitcher in the NL.
  5. Is the Sano you are talking about Miguel Sano of the Twins minor league system? Dont get me wrong I think he has some crazy raw power but right now he is hitting .240 while striking out 1/3 of the time in low A ball. I dont think he deseves to be mentioned with those guys quite yet. While young players seem to be making noise there are a handful of young guys who were talked about as sure things coming into the season who have really struggled - Lawrie (OPS of .704), Hosmer (OPS at .658), Matt Moore (Bad WHIP and ERA), and Jesus Montero (OPS .702). Those 4 were 4 of the most heralded young guys coming into the season and all have struggle to even be average pro players this year. Just goes to show how hard it is to project prospects year to year
  6. If contracts were equal I would trade him for Votto and that is about it. I dont love Tulo as much as some here due to Tulo's injuries. If they keep up he will have to move off SS and he loses a lot of value then. Since Braun got called up in 2007 he has played 100 more games than Tulo over that time. That means I have a chance to get over a full season more of Braun over the next 6-7 years. I will take that
  7. I will wait until next year to get too worried about Jungmann or Bradley. It is clear the Brewers are working with their pitchers to pitch to contact a little more, work on getting ground balls, and throwing a change (although I dont know if they are doing that with either of those two since I dont follow that closely). Hopefully their strikeout rates can jump to the 7-8 per 9 range next season
  8. The Brewers SS to start this year is actually 5th in the NL.
  9. A slick fielding shortstop who is an average hitter would be amazing
  10. They can still take a chance on a high school arm the next couple rounds and they have some guys who seem like they should sign relatively cheaply so they might be able to go after a harder to sign high school arm.
  11. If it is to simply imply value of the pick I guess it could make sense although it has very little value outside of that
  12. Makes sense. I am actually happy about the past 5 picks. Seems like some solid bats are sliding to us
  13. Sounds like people wanted Stroman. Is he more than a reliever? If not, I am surprised people wanted to use a first round pick on a closer
  14. 5 picks before our picks. Who are people hoping to slide?
  15. Brevard County has scored 48 runs in their last 5 games. They scored 49 in the previous 17 games (which included a 12 run game). That pitching staff might actually start getting some wins to go with their stellar starts.
  16. Ramirez is swinging a little bit better bat lately. Giants fielding is helping out early on
  17. He also has an OPS higher than Brett Lawrie's. Our former SS - Hardy (.756), Yuni (.753) and Escobar (.753) - have higher OPS that the 3 3B that are connected to the Brewers - ARam (.692), Lawrie (.685) and Casey (.530)
  18. I am in the same minority. That is going to be a great series that I am excited about - and I dont follow the NBA that closely
  19. I get that it's all about money, but why wouldn't you want the best TEAMS playing in the Championship? Granted, any of Indiana, Philly, Miami or Boston will be demolished by my Spurs, which is fine, but the Spurs have been one of the best franchises of the past 20 years, that plays the game fundamentally sound, and flat out wins. I completely agree. The San Antonio and Oklahoma City series should be great basketball. If it ends up Miami and Boston that will be the ratings grabber that the NBA wants. One of those two vs SA/OKC should make the NBA happy enough - not Miami vs LA happy but happy still
  20. Jungmann strong through 6 innings. 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, and 6 K Through 7 he goes 3 up, 3 down and adds 2 more K's Looks like his moment
  21. The approach has seemed to work with Jimmy Nelson. I can see the logic behind the pitch to contact approach. Younger pitchers tend to try to strike everyone out and can end up walking a ton of guys because they are unable to get pros to chase the same junk high school, college, and lower level minor league player will chase. The Brewers seem to be focusing a lot on getting pitchers to become groundball guys and I like that for the most part. I think the strikeout rates can go up once a pitcher has refined his control. I like what Crew said about the difference between Sheets and Parra/Yo. Now I love Yo but he definitely seems to think he needs to strike everyone out and he nibbles too much. Sheets just went after people.
