  1. Friday night's game was a lot of fun. A little frustrating -- especially in the second period, though.
  2. Daughter is about a year and a half from getting her nursing degree. She is 21 years old and living outside of the house. She is also working a (near) full time job and likes to play softball. She goes to the Humane Society and falls in love with a 2 1/2 year old Pit mix. She doesn't have a lot of time, but gets him anyway. Met him yesterday (we have two Labrodoodles). I guess the dog has never had a home. He has been living at the society for 2 years. Might have been a flood dog, not sure. My youngest daughter says, "We were there a few weeks ago and remember him -- he was so sad." I was frustrated at first because my daughter (from what I knew) didn't have the time to watch over the pup (58 lbs). He is very well behaved and a sweetheart. Better yet, my two 5-ish year old dogs liked him, too.
  3. I'm going Friday night. Hopefully, they will show up.
  4. I recall Giannis sucking for multiple games because of the defense Toronto played against him. This year, I have seen Giannis show more finesse around the basket, so I'm more encouraged. Middleton needs to continue to hit his shots. The supporting cast needs to be consistent as well. Bring out the Cobra Finish!
  5. It is very possible they know the location where the subscription is assigned. This could be done by using the MAC address of your cable modem. A little OSI level 2 analysis to lock it down...
  6. All on the same night or three different nights? I ask because that would go a long way on determining just how good it was. Not to mention how dangerous. Same night -- but at home.
  7. I had an opportunity to try peach Absolute and Orange Juice. Shortly thereafter, I tried it again. ... and also a little while later. I have added it to my beverage list.
  8. This site seems to keep up the channel list, etc. https://thestreamable.com/channels
  9. Finally replaced my 9-year-old Dell Precision M6500 with a new 7730. Dang... it is much faster! Go figure...
  10. If nothing else it should serve as a sobering reminder to all of us. Whether it be flying in bad weather, rushing to get to work in time, trying to reply to that text while driving, taking an unnecessary risk at work, driving drunk... It's never worth your life. Ever. Just wait. We don't know what was said, or what went into the decision to let them fly. Perhaps a lesson will be learned -- albeit a very, very costly one. I wonder what the discussions were when those damn horseless carriages started getting too close to the horses when they were hitched. As our lives get faster and the world gets "smaller", the lack of patience gets augmented. Life goes fast enough...
  11. Borland got his $463K for one year of not playing. Guess it didn't concern him too much... https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/chris-borland-14487/
  12. So... pulling a lot of late nights for work lately. Fired up the Assassin's Creed soundtracks on Spotify. Very good material. I have played Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate, Origins, and am playing Odyssey now. Great series.
  13. I would suggest Playstation Vue again... but that ship is sailing at the end of the month. YTTV is in the future for la casa de Samurai!
  14. Hey -- that sounds like a good idea. Signed, Nick Saban
  15. They lost four times -- twice to Ohio State. The Illinois loss was a bit of a perfect storm, but the turnovers cost them the game. The Badgers dominated #5 Oregon, but the turnovers cost them the game. It is a better year than I thought it would be, but they need to take better care of the ball. It will be interesting to see who steps in now that a lot of players are declaring or entering the portal.
  16. I just saw the story this morning. Brain cancer... wow... You don't see many (or any) drummers with younger bands that have the skill of those with classic rock bands.

  18. Perhaps my dislike of coffee came when I was 8 years old: Great Grandmother: "Hey... would you like some hot chocolate?" Little Samurai: "This isn't hot chocolate! YUCK!"
  19. I just watched a documentary on Rush shot in 2010. All three of them are absolute virtuosos on their respective instruments (Geddy on two). Their first big tour was opening for Kiss. Geddy had nothing but good things to say about them. Gene Simmons made fun of them for not partying at all. I was looking for a cover of Ring of Fire for some reason and came across a band called Dragonforce and thought it was really cool. Sure... it is quite hard, but the runs with the guitars is very cool. Not quite the same as Rush, Genesis, etc., but instrumentalists nonetheless.
  20. Fellow RUSH fan I presume? I have grown to really enjoy their music from a musical perspective lately. I was first interested in the late 80's when I found out the Wisconsin Marching Band had taken some of their drum line cadence from Neal Peart. As time has gone on, I have come to appreciate them as instrumental musicians. There are a lot of acts that fire up their Macbook Pros, slap together some riffs, turn on the autotuner, and make some tracks. This is a stark difference than these three guys. I did not know what Geddy Lee had taken his inspiration from Yes and Peart from the Who (and others). I liked Yes as a teen. I guess I'm influenced by the late 70's and early 80's...
  21. ... and that is why it wasn't targeting... Signed, Ryan Day and the OSU Nation P.S. See... the hit on Coan wasn't targeting either!!!! Told ya!
  22. I agree that the directory shouldn't have said it in an interview. Leaving it out of the movie was the right call IMHO. While there were a lot of new characters introduced, I would have been very upset if they showed a flow chart during the movie saying, "Lando begat Janna, and Poe wanted to begat with Zorri..." I want new story lines. I want to have items in this movie that can be built upon. If Disney makes money off of it, then great... as long as they tell good stories. This is the way.
  23. Finally saw it. I agree that the beginning was a little disjunct with Kylo chasing Rey all over the place. However, it planted enough seeds for the second half of the movie... Like the Wayfinder (holycron) which ties into Star Wars Rebels... Like Rey pulling down the ship -- like Force Unleashed... One thing that Abrams does better than any director I have seen is the ship to ship combat. The little shakes as the "camera tries to follow the ships" is very cool. He did the same thing when directing Star Trek. Plenty of symbolism (thank you to the class at UW Madison for seeing more of that... I suppose). Like another poster said, there were plenty of tears, too. I really liked it. One of my favorites... and I saw episode 4 when I was 8, so it has been a lifetime investment...
  24. First part you have to inform the State Troopers as they are the ones with jurisdiction and maybe they will investigate. MAYBE. Would have to have some kind of evidence to get them to think about doing something. Second part there is a statute that says if it is part of the job you can use it. The laptop in the cops car is part of their job function to use while driving though some officers have used this to get away with texting while driving with their family members. The nerd in me had to look it up... It blanketly states: This subsection does not apply to any of the following: 1. The operator of an authorized emergency vehicle. I guess that answers my question. https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/346/XIII/89?view=section
