  1. Watching Suppan and Mota pitch is frustrating to no end. It doesn't matter if Suppan is pitching from behind, with a slight lead, or a 6 run lead in the 4th inning, he continually falls behind batters, so he's forced to throw 88 MPH meatballs on 2-0 and 3-1. Now apparently if Mota isn't walking guys, he's giving up hits. All four batters hit the ball hard for the D'Backs, fortunately two were right at fielders. If Yost is so keen on having an "8th inning guy" I pray it becomes Riske.
  2. Look at how lucky the Tigers have been! Judging by their Runs scored/against they won't be able to remain over .500 for the rest of the '08 season http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  3. How much could I expect the price to drop if I don't have the boxes for them...
  4. A guy I went to high school with was a huge NBA fan, and every time the Bucks were at home he'd go to the Hyatt to get basketballs signed by opposing teams. I guess he got several of them signed by entire rosters and made decent money on Ebay for them.
  5. 3 @ Arizona (1-2) 3 vs. Pittsburgh (2-1) 4 vs. Colorado (3-1) 3 vs. Cincinatti (2-1) (All Star Break) 3 @ San Fransisco (Totally depends on if we face Lincecum and/or Cain, I'll say 1-2) 4 @ St. Louis (1-3) 3 vs. Houston (3-0) 4 vs. Chicago (2-2) 15-12 Then again, I said 13-13 for June and predicted they'd lose the home series to Toronto http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  6. The one reason I'd hope he's off the team is so I don't have to hear his awful at-bat music. I haven't liked any of the 5-6 songs he's used the last few years. Other than than he's my favorite Brewer http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
  7. Sacrafice bunting in a tie game in the 3rd inning with a non-pitcher just isn't smart. You're right about Braun though, he showcased that awesome discipline again last night, especially with runners on base. It's honestly embarassing some of the pitches he swings at some times.
  8. The perfect example of why valuing W-L so much can be bad is Sheet's 2004 season. I know everyone knows about it, but out of all the SP's who received votes for NL Cy Young, he was 2nd in ERA, 2nd in WHIP, and 2nd in K's. Actually, Randy Johnson led all of those categories but lost the Cy Young cause his record was "only" 16-14 while Roger Clemens was 18-4.
  9. Mortal Kombat for Sega Genesis is the greatest video game ever.
  10. Not that it really mattered, but the ump was super inconsistent in the 9th inning. Bill Hall looked lost against Doug freakin' Davis. In 55 June PA's he's OPSing a solid .512, after .656 in 90 May PA's, ugh.
  11. I can't really say any of the pitching matchups favor the Brewers throughout the series. It's too bad Parra is facing Webb because it's unlikely they'll beat Webb anyway. I'll be happy with a split.
  12. Did anyone else see Braun half ass the triple Gomez hit down the left field line? He leisurely strolled over and waited for the ball to roll to him instead of actually running toward it. Did he forget who was running? It obviously didn't matter as Slowey dominated the Brewers but it still made him look really bad. There was also no reason for Sheets to pitch the 7th. He was approaching 100 pitches plus he hadn't fooled many hitters since the 3rd inning.
  13. I watched the replay of the home run. He had it as high as Kendall had his glove, but threw it an inch or two further over the plate. He obviously missed his location by a bit, but calling for four straight fastballs is still dumb.
  14. I would've liked to see Weeks steal when Hardy was up there due to his propensity to GIDP. It looked like Weeks wanted to run but never got a good feel for it. Hardy didnt do him any favors either, he didn't get a ball and struck out on either 3 or 4 pitches. Running with two outs would be pretty stupid, you don't want to end the game on the bases. JUST PATHETIC!!!!!!! We should have at least tied that game. Fielder sucks in the clutch! Yeah, he's been in a slump. He also was facing one of the best relievers over the past several seasons. I'm honestly shocked the Brewers have 3 hits this year off Nathan, he's usually lights out.
  15. I know it's been said several times, but calling for four straight fastballs up in the zone is so moronic. I mean does Joe Mauer hit .700 on pitches below his belt or something? For all the talk he gets about "calling a great game", Kendall looked bad on that tonight. I hope Dillon doesn't play the rest of the series either. Obviously everyone has bad games but he really hasn't done anything lately when he gets chances. The play at first where he dove at Casilla coupled with his swinging at the first pitch after a Branyan 6 pitch walk didn't impress me tonight.
  16. That would sure be nice, especially with right field something like 325 ft away. Maybe he'll hit some over the baggie.
  17. So you have no interest in seeing this guy pitch for the Brewers at all? Not if it's for Gamel or LaPorta. Unless the Indians lose like 5 games in the standings in the next week, the trade likely wouldn't happen til the end of July. I don't think two months of Sabathia would be worth giving up a huge prospect, but that's just me obviously.
  18. Wow, they already have one of tbe best rotations in baseball. Can you imagine Sabathia-Kazmir-Shields in a playoff series? That would be a nightmare for other teams.
  19. Every time McClung starts I think "There's no way he can pitch well again", yet it's happened about the last 5 starts.
  20. I hate Jim Edmonds. What does he have, 34 home runs with the Cubs? http://cakerockstheparty.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/kylbgje7.jpg
  21. The Sox with a moderate lead early in the game against the Cubs, this turned out well last weekend.
  22. Even if it is unlikely that the Brewers would trade LaPorta or Gamel for C.C., I'm still rooting for the Indians to get into/stay in the race so the possibility of losing one of the two isn't there.
  23. The only time I was at a game at Tropicana was in 2003 when the Devil Rays were terrible. They were playing Toronto, who I think was okay but nothing great. I'm sure the fact there were less than 10,000 people there didn't help, but it was the most boring baseball stadium imaginable. I'm glad I'm not a Rays fan living in St. Pete cause there's no way I'd want to have to go to that stadium again.
