  1. I think we're a baserunner away from seeing Riske or Torres.
  2. Did they really just put their closer in down 8-1 on the road? Huh? They've lost four in a row and something like 10 of 13, they probably don't want to have him too rested.
  3. In other awesome pitching performance news, Grienke has 2-hit the Cardinals through 7 innings and the Royals are up 2-1 in the 8th inning. How awesome would it be if the Royals swept the Cards at Busch?
  4. Yeah, Burnett walked a ton of guys during his.
  5. Why is Braun diving, you gotta keep that in front of you! Not to take anything away from the possibility of a no hitter, but a 1 K no hitter would have to be the most boring in the history of baseball.
  6. Rolen did that on purpose so Bush has to stay in the dugout longer. I'm a moron, I mean bat.
  7. And MLB.com headline writer. And Brian Anderson (x 5). I guess at this point it really doesn't matter.
  8. Sweet play by Kapler, I wasn't sure if he would get to that or not. Can we just forfeit this game? I can't tell you how many people (not necessarily here) have said "Bush is an automatic loss lol!!1@"
  9. Did you divide it by at bats or plate appearances?
  10. I'll say that's BA's fault for mentioning it. It probably doesn't help that every time the Brewers bat, Bush is in the dugout for 20-30 minuntes.
  11. Remember when Sosa hit 20 home runs in June his big year? Let's see Branyan break that!
  12. An official 3TO game by the 5th inning.
  13. Oh he did. Well Rios did follow one of the first rules of little league by raising his arms, unfortnunately for him the ump didn't care http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. You've gotta feel good for Dave Bush. He's taken a lot of crap (and some deservedly so) but it's sweet to see him pitch this well so far.
  14. I guess Burnett loves throwing strikes on 0-2 to good hitters.
  15. Well for whatever reason Burnett has a sub-3.00 ERA on the road in 54 innings, yet it's over 8.00 at home. Hopefully he'll pull a McGowan in that he doesn't give up a lot of home runs but gives up three in one game.
  16. That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean wasn't he the guy mentioned in Moneyball that worked for Beane for a while? I love these comments from Dunn: I read it, I just read it. I don't care but later in the article, It pisses me off. It does. I just told you it pisses me off.... Sounds like he wasn't be truthful the first time http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Edit: By the way they have the caller talk straight to the GM? That sounds pretty cool.
  17. It's like having a supermodel girlfriend and complaining that she can't make a decent steak I know this is basically a joke but that's not really true at all. It's more like having a supermodel girlfriend and "complaining" she doesn't have the prettiest face. "Not making a decent steak" would equal "not many bunt hits." The fact is getting on base is a very important part of offense. Just brushing over his bad OBP is like saying, "Well Parra has pretty decent K rates and doesn't give up a lot of home runs, so I'm okay that he walks a lot of guys."
  18. I think my mom summed it up perfectly today when she said "Whoever wins the British Open and PGA will be like the Houston Rockets of 94 and 95."
  19. Were the Blue Jays by chance Gibbonsed, or is Scott Downs more than a LOOGY? I don't really know much about him, or a lot of Blue Jays for that matter, but I was really surprised when they kept him in for Hart in the 7th.
  20. I think it's impossible for me to root for Tavarez. I'd be lying if I said I don't get (very slight) pleasure when he pitches poorly. Aside from the fact I hate him, how is he a better option than DiFelice to this point? I know it's an extremely small sample size but Tavarez has been plain bad in 20 innings this year. I'm sure glad Riske will be back though. I hope that changes the notion that Mota's the "8th inning guy." He might be the most frustrating guy to watch that isn't very bad.
  21. The only time I'd be "happy" that Zambrano is hurt is if it was a result of his stupid mound antics a la Bill Gramatica, and not due to pitching. Sure he's an ass, but I'd much rather see him implode with like 7 walks than get injured. Like Ennder said, if Cy Dempster and others keep it up I don't see the Brewers gaining much unless Zambrano's out for a long time.
  22. This should be an awesome game. I'm 4-0 attending games this year, so let's keep it rolling! I'm 7-0 and going tonight, so hah! I'll predict a 3-1 Brewers victory. Sheets 8 IP 7 K's 2 BB's 1 HR (to Matt Stairs) 6 H 1 ER Marcum 7 IP 8 K's 3 BB's 1 HR 5 H 3 ER
  23. 11th in BA, 10th in runs, 1st in hits, tied for 6th in doubles, tied for 3rd in triples, 1st in HRs, tied for 2nd in RBI, tied for 17th in steals (only one behind McLouth, a leadoff hitter), 3rd in slugging. Sure, his OBP isn't great, but he's in the top 20 in every category except walks, in the top 10 in every category but walks and steals, and 1st in two categories. Add into that his production in the 2nd half of last year (.309/.358/.618) - dude set the rookie record for SLG in a season! - and he should be in the All-Star game if not starting. Someone pointed out yesterday (before Braun's huge game) that he was 10th in the NL in OPS among outfielders. That's only "one" stat, but it uses extra-base hits/slugging in the equation, which takes up 4 of the stats you pointed out. He also obviously had a great second half of last year, but that shouldn't have anything to do with this year's voting, otherwise Fukudome would be ineligable right now. I still believe Braun should make the All-Star game as a reserve, but I can't honestly make myself believe he's been one of the three best NL outfielders to this point.
  24. I wrote him in a few times at a game the Brewers last homestand. The funny thing is he already deserves it more than Hall, who is foolishly 5th in votes. In all seriousness I'd love to see him in the HR Derby even though that would never happen. Imagine him hitting in Yankee Stadium with right field a mere 314 feet away from home...
